Below are the general settings needed to have U-mail configured to an e-mail client. For any client we do not directly support, use the settings below and everything should work properly. Incoming Mail Settings: Incoming Mail Server Type: IMAP Incoming Mail Server Name: incoming.umail.ucsb.edu Incoming Mail Server Port: 993 Use Secure Connection (TLS): Yes Outgoing Mail Settings: Outgoing Mail Server Name: Outgoing Mail Server Port: Use Secure Connection (TLS/SSL): Outgoing Mail Server Requires Authentication:

*Secure connections are required for all outgoing mail. The port depends on the client and the encryption type. Clients using SSL need to use port 465 and clients using TLS need to use port 587. 4. Other Settings: Directory Server: Search Base/Base dn:
