It has been a busy few months. As well as my day to day work I have been covering for absent colleagues as well as involved in the following:

DIARY DATES

Hirst Wood Regeneration Group now have a Gardening Club i.e. you can now CHILDRENS FUN DAYS borrow hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, loppers etc to improve, tidy or enhance Hirst Wood Park your own or a neighbours garden either with other Street Reps and your Warden 22nd 23rd 25th and 26th August or just by yourself. They are also available for use on communal, Council or open 10am 12noon land such as when we have a clean up day. Also, if you see something in your area that could be improved then we hope to have volunteers (not just Street Shipley Park (Near ASDA) Reps) who will use the tools to improve that something. Everything should be 22nd 23rd 25th and 26th August available in about 2 weeks. 1.30pm 3.30pm NAB WOOD The snicket on Grosvenor Road opposite South Edge has been cut back with help from Community Payback. Weed spraying on Fairfield Road has been done by contractors. Parking restrictions for the lay-by on Bradford Road at the top of Branksome Drive is to be signposted in the next couple of weeks. Saltaire roundabout to have improved planting in the Autumn. Residents have cut back a lot of their overgrowing shrubs, bushes and hedges. Dog fouling and littering is still high on my agenda. HIRST WOOD The Regeneration Group secured funding for school holiday activities which have DAYS OF ACTION included, basketball, football, fishing, orienteering, climbing, barge trips etc. all To be confirmed seem well attended. Children from Lime Tree Square are in the early stages of forming their own Litter Club, a direct result of the Hirst Wood Litter Club. COACH ROAD I have patrolled Roberts Park along with my colleague Julie Kirk to try and stop school children from jumping over the locked gate and taking shortcuts over the flowerbeds and also report any issues to the school. Community Payback have been in the area clearing paths and snickets of weeds etc. Year 5 at Glenaire School have been doing litter picks and visual audits in the area. The above gardening club is available to you as well. NORWOODS Many of the streets have been sprayed with weed killer so improvements should be seen in the next couple of weeks after the Clean Team remove the dead ones. Norwood Neighbourhood Association are working with Community Payback and the Council to improve the waste land on Norwood Terrace. Norwood Avenue flats are waiting for a reply from Incommunities in regard to the lowering of the walls surrounding the bin areas.

SHIPLEY AND WYCLIFFE DOB IN A DEALER The town centre did well in the Shipley in bloom competition with thanks to all 0800 555111 involved. Community Payback have cleared a number of small snickets with major work done on the one leading from the railway station up around the back of Laura Ashley, over twenty five bags of rubbish removed.
