Financial Planning & Analysis

Our Approach
We begin by leveraging analytical knowledge gained through extensive issue-based discussions with customers. Client Successes
We facilitated an improved Financial Planning & Analysis for a major European equipment financing company with $8 billion in assets, presence in 15 countries, and 350,000 customers in multiple business channels. This development reduced sub-optimal decisions in its planning and budgeting process that were based on spreadsheets and reduced long planning cycle time, poor work-flow management and information security. By identifying and addressing workflow issues, Genpact was able to reduce Planning cycle time from 45 to 10 days. The amount of what if scenarios that could be evaluated in a given cycle were increased from two-thirds to unlimited. The net effect of these and other changes was an annual cost benefit of $1 million.

Accounts Payable
Genpact has deep domain expertise in procure-to-pay and multi-location service delivery capability. More than 1800 employees support Accounts Payable processes across America, Europe and Asia, handing some 15 million invoices and disbursements of $110 billions. Lifecycle sub-processes supported by our team include document imaging and management, invoice processing and resolution, payments, Helpdesk, and controllership (including audit, duplicate avoidance, statutory support like escheatment and 1099 and reconciliations). We support most European, Latin and Asian languages in addition to English. And we have

extensive experience performing Accounts Payable processes on Oracle and other ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or SAP.

Our Approach
Genpact has developed Accounts Payable operational excellence through a step-by-step approach of process stabilization, sustainability, and standardization. We use Lean Six Sigma to map process flows, measure performance, ID process defects and eliminate nonvalue added process components. Continuous pursuit of higher pay-in-time rates reduces liquidity losses related to premature payment, curbs fees associated with late payment, and allows for standardized early payment at discounted terms. Finally, a broad client base enables us to benchmark any Accounts Payable process in need of improvement against those already optimized for our other clients.

Client Successes
We worked with a Global Automaker for processing 200,000 invoices annually for 11 countries. Genpact modified and standardized payment parameters, streamlined invoice approval procedures, established protocols for prioritizing payment, and revised conditions for expedited remittance. The result was a doubling in the on-time-payment rate and a combined $500,000 return in cost- and late-penalty avoidance.

General Accounting
Genpact has 3000 record-to-report personnel and offers a full suite of General Accounting solutions to GE businesses and Fortune 500 clients. Our Accounting to Reporting team has handled 150,000 balance-sheet accounts with an aggregate balance of $250 billion in reconciliation every year. For 10-plus years we have provided useful, real-time GA information to businesses in industries such as Auto, Media, Banking /Finance, Insurance and Hospitality businesses, providing them with services ranging from Revenue, Expense Accruals and Fixed Assets Accounting, to Inventory and Supply Chain Accounting, and Account Reconciliations (Bank, Cash, Sub-ledger), as well as Inter-Company Accounting and Reconciliations, Accruals and Reserves, and Journal Entries. Our experience working in a multicurrency environment benefits some 60 GA clients spread across Asia, Australia, Europe, and America, allowing foreign-exchange implications to be accurately reflected. The GA team is also able to leverage broad statutory expertise (US, UK GAAP, IFRS, etc) to handle multiple books. We also boast experience deploying customized-tax and currency-translation-adjustment programs, and formula-based automated-journal entries that reduce long closing cycle times.
