HOW TO SYNC YOUR U-MAIL USING MICROSOFT OUTLOOK

Microsoft Outlook is part of the Microsoft Office Suite. Find the Tools tab and click Email Accounts. The Wizard window will pop up. Select Add a new e-mail account. Then click Next.

Select IMAP as the e-mail server type. Then click Next.

Enter your U-mail account information with the following information. Your Name: [your name] E-mail Address UCSBnetID@umail.ucsb.edu Incoming mail server (IMAP): incoming.umail.ucsb.edu Outgoing mail server (SMTP): outgoing.umail.ucsb.edu User Name: UCSBnetID Password: [your password] Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): [not checked]

Do not click Next yet. Click on More Settings to continue. On the General tab, enter in the following: Mail Account: U-Mail Organization: [leave blank] Reply E-mail [leave blank]

Click on the Outgoing Server tab. Check the following settings. My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication [checked] Use same settings as my incoming mail server: [checked]

Click on the Advanced tab. Fill in the following information. Incoming server (IMAP): 993 This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) [checked] Outgoing server (SMTP): 465 This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) [checked] Root folder path: inbox.

10. Click OK and then Next in the main settings window. 11. Finally, click Finish.

12. Congratulations! You have successfully synced your U-mail with Microsoft Outlook.
