Legends and folklore date back to the beginning of the human race, when it was believed that crystal forces set the electromagnetic field of the earth so that human souls could incarnate. Legends of the ancient continent of Atlantis tell us that crystals generated power for entire cities, and it was the abuse of these energies that resulted in the eventual destruction of that civilization. Some Egyptologists speculate that the magnificent Egyptian pyramids were capped with crystals to channel cosmic forces into these geometrically perfected structures. Many civilizations, cultures and peoples have used crys- tals and stones for a myriad of purposes—from healing and protection to the most powerful initiations. The purpose of this book is to share a small portion of that sacred knowledge so that the beauty and light inherent within the crystal kingdom may continue to be shared and utilized by those who are instinctively drawn to it.The information in this book was received through personal attunement and meditation with the stones over several years’ time. 1 worked very closely with my dear and wonderful friend, JaneAnn Dow. For over a year we would meet once a week in her home and meditate in her office which housed hundreds of beautiful crystals and healing stones. We chose the stones we wanted to learn from, closed our eyes and tuned into the energies and information that was available to us. Our sessions were recorded and later transcribed by JaneAnn. We would then find ourselves in the kitchen eating ice cream or taking delight in other such decadence—then off I would go. It was not until later when I was reviewing our tran- scripts to prepare for a crystal healing class I was going to teach, that I became fully aware of the valuable infor- mation that had been shared from the crystals. It became evident that anyone who wished should have access and be able to use the information we had been blessed to receive. Thus it was agreed to write a book, to com- pletely cover the bulk of the material. I am very grateful to JaneAnn for her continued support, love, friendship and collaboration which helped create and complete this book. Undertaking such a project was overwhelming and I had doubts whether my time and energy could accommo- date such a massive commitment. Surrendering to the divine will, I boldly stated to the Universe, ‘‘If this book is meant to be, give me a sign and let me know that the world wants and needs this information.”’ It was less than a week later when Barbara Somerfield of Aurora Press came to my home to buy a crystal and ended up saying she would finance and publish Crystal Enlightenment. It was the sign I had been waiting for, and I began writing immediately. Translating the material from the original transcripts into a language that could be easily read and interpreted was a long (six rough drafts) but worthwhile task; one that assisted my own growth immensely. A year and many changes later. it is my privilege to present this knowledge to you. May it serve you well.This book in no way claims to be the only way or the final word about crystals. It remains forever open to the revision of higher truth. This book is for those who are drawn to it, in whose hearts it tests true on the inner touchstone. It is my prayer that the knowledge in this book be used for personal and planetary betterment— and that the light within the crystals and stones serves to draw each one closer to his/her own inner source of light. Crystal Enlightenment is designed for the lay per- son, as well as the professional, to give the basic under- standing necessary to use the healing properties inherent within the mineral kingdom. There will always be more to learn and experience once you open up to this incredi- ble world of light. Enjoy the reading, and reccive some of the secrets we have obtained from the stones. Open your mind; accept and integrate into your being that which rings true. That which does not, release without being judgmental. Remember that if you ever want to be shown the truth, or gain clearer perspective, you can place a crystal to your brow; close your eyes; will it; and know.CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION TO THE MINERAL-CRYSTAL KINGDOM Minerals and crystals are different things to different people. They can be a source of income, a gift for a loved one, a decoration, an appreciation of nature, a tool in healing, a symbol of perfection, or a teacher in con- sciousness. The mineral kingdom will serve each individ- ual need in the way that can best be accepted by that individual. To some, crystals and stones are inanimate objects, the lowest form of life on the planet. To others, they are great sources of light and energy. In whatever way they serve, these beautiful gifts from the earth bring pleasure to the eye of the beholder as they display ex- quisite colors, perfected geometric forms and radiance into the lives of millions. Before you decide what crystals are for you, let’s take a closer look and discover more about them.
