Decyphering the colour codes
Finding the Yamaha's colour reference is not an easy task when it's time for a paint job, as car painting professionals do not hold bike paint references as they do for the more universal car paint references. Sometimes a professional can determine the correspondence with a car colour tint, but in general you're left on your own and need to call the dealer or do it all by yourself... with a little help from JBX !

Model identification
The first thing to do is to determine precisely the owned model. The identification label called Model Label is affixed on the chassis, under the seat : xxxx : model type code (eg : 5PSA) yyy : production code number c : colouring type (A / B / C)

There are two Model Types each year : one for each region (Europe-South Africa and Oceania), except for 2008 (three codes). There is also another Model Type for the ABS version since 2005 (two for 2008). 5PSx for a TDM900 std. 2B0x for a TDM900A (ABS). eg : 5PS1 = TDM900 2002 (Europe-South Africa) The year refer to the year of manufacture. This may not be the year of registration. Every Model Type may have three Colour Types (two for 2010) : A / B / C Every Model Type - Colour Type is given a name to which an abbreviated color code is added. eg : 5PS1 - C = Reddish Yellow Cocktail 1 (RYC1))

TDM900 Colours
There are two colours (primary & secondary colours) applied on each model, they are sometime identical. The abbreviated colour code refers to the primary colour and does not always refer to the model name. eg : 2007 / Lava-Red (DRMK) or 2004 / Blue Stone (DNBME).
