Before there was "Teaching Music Through Performance In Band" there was BD Guide magazine...and if you were lucky to procure a copy of a copy (like me) of these pages then you have a terrific at-a-glance resource of some of the best and most well known band compositions available (at least up through 1989) and a suggested 3 to 4 year cycle during which you could program these pieces. Page 1 represents most of our "standard rep;" pages 2-7 actually highlight pieces for young band, which is probably a bigger need these days. BD Guide is no longer in print, and I couldn't find copies of this anywhere online, so here it is. Enjoy!
