Introduction
This directory of sss-global (- a virtual platform for exchnage of info among senior citizens which is 11 years old-) lists details of nearly 300 members. The number of subscribers as per our website records is around 605. The reasons for this large gap of missing information are many: Many friends have given multiple email addresses for the web group access; many are dormant, opting for no Email; some get only special notices; many do not see their mail messages after initial enthusiasm; Most have not bothered to provide personal information; there are others who may not even know they are members! Quite a few may not have been insisted upon by us (moderators) for furnishing personal data while joining, in the hope members will do the needful eventually. It is also possible that we may have missed out a few, while merging information from many different files into one. I am not sure about the accuracy DOB data being accurate, despite taking a lot of efforts. This is mainly due to entering data in Indian format when system interprets it in US format or vice versa. Genuine data entry errors are not also uncommon. During the final stages of data consolidation Ms Jayanti was of immense help. I thank her profusely. While I beg to be excused for inaccuracies, if corrections are brought to my notice, I shall forever try to keep the master file updated. And now for some statistics limited to those covered by this directory. Amongst us there are 21 women and rest are men. Hyderabad / Secunderabad, as anyone can guess has maximum number of members 156. While 10 are abroad, rest are in cities like chennai -22, Bengaluru 20, Mumbai 19, visakapatnam 13, Delhi 11 and so on. If we look at ourselves by month of birth, maximum number of members (32) are born in September and minimum in February and April (17 each). For 25 persons we do not have DOB info. Suggestions to enthuse / induce dormant members to actively participate are welcome. If you know for sure that someone included here is not there ( I mean gone forever), please let me know.
