ABSTRACT

In Indonesia diarrheal disease is still one of the major health problems, where the incidence of diarrhea in 2000 that is equal to 301 per 1000 population. It is the prevention of diarrhea is still not perfect, the government's efforts in tackling diarrheal disease, has been done by improving the environmental conditions are good. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the prevention of diarrhea with the knowledge, attitudes, level of education and the environment at the Puskesmas respondents Darussalam, Aceh Besar regency. Is analytic research with cross sectional design. Data obtained through a questionnaire distributed to 99 respondents. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. Univariate data showing the frequency distribution and percentage, while the bivariate data were analyzed with chi square. The results showed that respondents have a good prevention of diarrhea 50.5% and 49.5% poor, good knowledge of either 44.5% less 55.5%, 55.5% good attitude and poor 44.5% , the level of primary education 21.2%, intermediate 50.5% and 28.3% higher, and the appropriate corresponding 51.5% and 48.5% less. Bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between diarrhea prevention knowledge (G2 count (31.05)> G2table (3.84)) a significant relationship between attitude preventing diarrhea (G2count (26.64)> G2table (3.84)) a significant relationship between the prevention of diarrhea to the level of education (G2count (41.52)> G2table (5.99)) and a significant relationship between the prevention of diarrhea with the environment (G2count (22.52)> G2table (3.84)) with = 0.05.
