Naomi

the Empress
the
Naomi Blake, better known as Naomi the
Empress, is a soulful London-based
singer/song writer and music teacher who
liberates herself through music and encour-
ages others to embrace individuality.
Naomi’s sprinkled-in-rock sound blends
elements of jazz, reggae and hip hop into
tracks that arrest the mind, body and
soul.

Naomi discovered her passion as an

artist at the young age of 8. Grand-
daughter to a bishop, she grew up sing-
ing at church and eventually began writ-
ing for the Save The Children Fund. She
is dedicated to helping others rise
above their circumstances to fulfill their
deepest desires and inspired by
Prince’s outlandishness, Michael
Jackson’s dancing skills and
Madonna’s sex appeal.

Naomi has developed an

open-minded writing pro-
cess embracing the many
ways a song is brought to
life. Whether her songs are
born after mini conversa-
tions with her guitar or
based on melodies that
pop into her head, Naomi’s
pieces develop into inspira-
tional, strong sexy tracks that
embrace honoring true indi-
viduality.
Naomi is a graduate of Birmingham Music Acad-
emy where she earned a BA in Sound & Multimedia
and Music Business. She has earned support from
Domu BBC, 1xtra, Dev Beadle Solar Radio, Land-
slide aka Tim Land, New Style Radio 98.7FM and
Rinse Fm Radio and performed as a support act
for soul singer Marsha Ambrosius.

Naomi has collaborated with jazz artists including

Taharka, Mary Wakelam, Joe Egan, Dan Nicholls,
Joe Archer, Ida Hollis, Jim Bashford and DJ Max-
well. She has been featured on several albums
including Nasty Depths released by Wax Poetic
Digital ,Untold Songs released on Jus Like
Music Records and released a track for Jus
Like Records called “I Want You.” Naomi
also collaborated with Oh No Stones on a
track called “Tainted Lies” released on
Throw Records. Fans have enjoyed her
music at venues across London and
Birmingham including Big Chill, Vibe Bar,
Rootsville Festival, The Sunday Side-
winder Yardbird and the Town Hall Re-
opening Festival.

Currently Naomi is
working on a new
album about
self-
acceptance
and enjoying
the experience
of performing
live with her new
band. She is collaborat-
ing with new artists like
Luxembourg-based $moknX and
T.H.C. Records. She hopes to get
signed to a record label and meet her
full potential as an artist while re-
launching her fashion label Cut & Paste Ap-
parel.
