Compare & Contrast Longitudinal and Latitudinal Studies Longitudinal Is a correlation research study that involves repeated observations of the same variables over long periods of time. It allows researchers to detect changes in the target population over the period of time. For example: A research to observe physical stamina in an individual over 15 years. Latitudinal Compares different population groups at a single point in time. It is also called cross-sectional study. It allows researchers to compare many different variables at the same time with little or no additional cost. They dont provide cause and effect relationships. For example: A research to observe physical stamina across-continents.
