True Version of the Philippine Revolution Public Domain Books 2009 This source was able to give me information of the Filipino Revolution and how it went in the eyes of the leader of the Philippine Revolution. Aguinaldo Captured by Funston. Evening Bulletin 5 Apr 1901, Pg. 1 I used this to find out how America reacted to the capture of Aguinaldo and how the war had been going with the Filipinos. It seemed to also signal how his capture spelled out a near end of the war. Blount, James H. The American Occupation of the Philippines, 1898-1912 New York: Oracle Editions, 1973 This book was originally published in 1912 and was written by a U.S. Volunteer who had served in the Philippines during the insurrection. He described in the book what events took place as America solidified their rule over the Philippines. Burning Monks. At the Helm of the Nation: Inaugural Addresses of the Presidents of the Philippine Republic and the Commonwealth Manila: National Media Production Center, 1973 I thought that this book was very important in my impact section as the book recorded the Inaugural Addresses of the Presidents of the Commonwealth of the Philippines and the Governor-Generals of the Territory of the Philippines. Each one of the addresses was able to summarize what was going on in the Philippines at that time and what the leaders were hoping to accomplish in office.

I was able to find from this act that the Americans were preparing the Philippines for their independence. While reading this book, I found the information to be that of an eyewitness as the author was there from the time of the arrival of the American fleet to the first few months of the insurrection. Many of his articles were mainly making fun of the issues of the war or criticizing what was going on. I ended up not using this clip though as it took up too much storage on my website. Willis, Henry P. Our Philippine Problem: A Study of American Colonial Policy New York: Arno Press, The New York Times 1970 Published originally in 1905, I was able to use this book to find graphs that showed that the economy of the Philippines had improved to a certain extent. This book was useful in showing what was going on in the Philippines as it was under the rule of an American government.

I found this source to be very broad as it focused on the the main events. Wukovits, John F. The Spanish American War San Diego: lucent books, 2002 This was one of the first sources that I used for my research. It had many quotes but I found it to be very broad. The U.S.S. Maine Memorial 3 June 2008 Arlington National Cemetery Website Washington Post Company 19 Jan 2012 <arlingtoncemetery.net/ussmaine.htm> This site gave me a somewhat depressing image of the U.S.S. Maine right after its destruction in Havana Harbor. It went along with the section on the American Public and how it led to the War.
