WINTER CUTS
New looks for a new season: the repertoire of the BOSS Black Collection for Fall/Winter 2009 extends from smart to sexy, presenting soft, rounded shapes in an ultra-femininemood. The pieces are pleated, gathered and draped; the looks range from elegant, modern daywear through poised business outfits to glamorous evening styles. Jackets, coats and extra-long vests in luxury furs pair with transparent or shimmering silk and with fine new wool. The Special structures lend surfaces a new dimensionality. Allover crocodile embossing turns a knee-length coat and a suit comprised of a slim-fitting Jackie-O jacket and balloon skirt all in black calf shearling into absolute highlights. shapes are many and varied, so skirts and pants are sometimes skinny and sometimes bulky. In contrast, volume is now a must in the shoulders of blazers, dresses and tops, where it accentuates the otherwise clean cuts.

Delicate silk dresses are enriched with metal fiber to create a striking crinkled effect. Winter's color story is muted throughout, moving from black through shades of gray to beige, camel and wool white. A strong red stands out as the single high-intensity shade. In the shoes, plateau pumps and ankle boots remain essential. Joining the indispensable clutches this season are eyecatching mid-sized handbags in smocked leather with short shoulder straps made of twisted chains. They go best with highheeled boots. This season the BOSS Black Womens Accessories Collection introduces a limited series of travel luggage that includes a pebbled leather trolley and a workbag. Their clean design is underlined by braided leather handles and sparkling silver metal hardware.
