While watching a movie you can toggle the controller window on and off with the space bar. Use the controller bar to return to the main menu or skip to the next or previous movie. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ______________________ *******Note*********** Be sure to download the most current version of QuickTime from Apple's website www.apple.com/quicktime/ before viewing the tutorial movies. No support will be provided for QuickTime "software" by lynda.com, Inc. All support inquiries should be directed to the manufacturer of the software program. To obtain QuickTime 6 please visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download . You may also double-click the "get_quicktime.htm" in the QuickTime folder on the CD-ROM. You will need an internet connection to download this file. ATTENTION MAC QUICKTIME 7 USERS __________________________________ Unfortunately, with the release of QuickTime 7, an incompatibility was introduce d with our movie playback. It's not something we can fix on our end, but it is s omething you could fix on your end. If you don't want to bother with these steps , the movies work fine on other Mac browsers. The steps to fixing this issue with QuickTime 7 are: 1) 2) 3) 4) 6) ne In the finder navigate: Macintosh HD> Library> Internet plug-ins. Remove the file "QuickTime Plugin.webplugin" from that directory. leave just the "QuickTime Plugin.plugin" file there unmoved. Quit Safari and restart Safari. Log back into lynda.com and happy viewing! The movies should all play just fi when you logon.

SPEEDING UP THE LESSON LIST ON MAC OS 8, 9, Classic & OSX _________________________________________________________ When scrolling the lesson list if response time is too slow do the following: Exit the training CD Go to the "Apple" menu. Select Control Panels>Appearance. Click on the "Fonts" tab. Make sure that "Smooth all fonts on screen" is unchecked. Restart the training CD. MAKING EXERCISE FILES EDITABLE ON WINDOWS SYSTEMS _________________________________________________________ By default, when you copy files from a CD-ROM to your Windows 98/NT/2000 hard drive, they are set to read-only (write protected). This may cause a problem with the exercise files, because you will need to write over some of them. To remove this setting and make them editable, follow the short procedure below: 1. Navigate to the directory on your hard drive that contains the read-only file. 2. Right-Click on the read-only file, then select "Properties" from the pop-up menu. 3. Click on "Properties," and in the Attributes section, uncheck the "Read-only" attribute.
