Material Property Database Instructions Setup of File Locations 1) Place the three files into an appropriate folder a. Materials.

mdb (a shortcut) b. Materials.mdb (the database) c. Secured.mdw (a security file) 2) Right Click shortcut and go to Properties a. Set the Target location to where your Access program, database and security file are located. Hint, use what is there and modify the strings as appropriate b. Set where the working directory is 3) Make a copy of the shortcut to wherever you want to use the database. Opening the shortcut will open both the Security file and the Database at the same time. Entering the Database: 1) After double-clicking the shortcut, you will be prompted for a name and password. NAME: User PASSWORD: Leave it Blank Using the Database: 1) Enter the headings you desire. 2) Enter the Operating and Design Temperatures 3) Enter the material under each block. They are not linked, as the tables in the ASME Code are quite different. 4) Press Calculate to get the values at each temperature. 5) The Notes under each section can be read thru the buttons.
