EVERLASTING INSIGHT

Spiritual
KnowledgeBeyond Knowledge
We should have divine vision; we should have divine speech; our nature should be divine.
According
to one of Patanjalis Sutra, some people are born great; some are philosopher by birth; some are sages; some are ascetic by birth; some are detached by birth; some are hard worker by birth; some are serious by birth; some are scientists and have a keen eye for everything. Their quest for truth is really deep. We consider four categories of humans, endowed with Bestiality, Humanity, Godliness and Super-humans. One, those living in foolishness and inertia; those who are living ordinary human lives, those, whose mind, body, intellect have been purified and those, whose illusions have been cleared. They are called super-humans; great personalities say that they live on super-consciousness.We have four stages of our lives. Going by the Kenopanishada, it is Brahmas victory and it is Brahmas universe only. If we assume this to be ours then it is our ignorance. Those, who live at higher levels of consciousness and live only mechanically, are great people. This is altogether different thing that 99 percent of the people are not aware of their potential and they continue to look at people below them. Some behave like beasts and some behave like partial humans. Some are just entering godliness. Some people have insight since birth, which is in fact an arrangement from past births. There should not be any doubt about this. Often we tend to stuck up without any reason; we lose track; we get disillusioned. Does rebirth happen? Is this Karma-phala theory a truth? Yes, there is no question about it. We would deduce this logically, intellectually, scientifically and factually that there is Karma- phala theory. Rebirth is considered as transmigration, where mind and Sanskars go along with our body. Philosophically, it is said that some people are great; some work hard and this potential is attained by birth, by medicines, by Mantra, by asceticism and by Samadhi and thus special powers are attained. There are billions of separate cells in our body. Hardly anybody can count, only an estimate can be made. In any case, nobody has anticipated how many universes are there? How many stars are their in our galaxy? Each star is larger than the Sun. If we happen to go higher by 1000 to 20,000 feet, then stars become even clearer. In this universe this is one part only. In one universe there are so many stars, a Sun, planets and satellites. So far we have studied 9 planets and 32 subplanets. It is said that another planet has been discovered. Creation of this universe is a great mystery and very interesting. Similarly, structure of the body is also a big mystery. I wonder, when I find that we do not know, how our blood cells, bone cells, brain cells, liver and kidney cells and every system functions. How is this universe functioning, this is far too much for us to know. How are our senses functioning; how is our mind functioning? When a thought hits the mind, it shakes us from all sides. It seems that if we do this then things will go well. It does not identify either happiness or suffering. If we happen to observe our mind closely, our personality is like our body as well. Nobody knows how much potential is stored-in there. Like a banyan seed, which has produced a full blown tree and that tree further produces innumerable seeds. Similar is the creation of the universe and life. Mysteries one after the other in the form of layers never finishes. That is why it is called infinite. In our life-time our personality is formed by every moment of our life. Any person who became aware every moment becomes a great person. He attains the highest honour of the life. His life becomes divine. Lets pray that our vision becomes divine; our speech becomes divine; our behaviour becomes divine and our nature becomes divine. We have nothing of our own. We surrendered it to the God. This highest divine light of life is bestowed on everybody. We strive to achieve this divinity.

11-fold program of A brief onGram Nirman Yojana of Adarsh Bharat Swabhiman: 1. Healthy village with regular Yoga, 2. United village by Membership Movement, 3. Disease and Drugfree village, 4. Independent village through Swadeshi, 5. Herbal Garden, 6. Plantation, 7. Qualitative improvement in Education, 8. Water management, 9. Gram-sansad, 10. Poison-free agriculture, 11. Cleanliness.
ur villages have born the brunt of governments flawed policies, corrupt system, corruption, partial behaviour and black economy. Due to the inadequate development of villages, issues like poverty, illiteracy and migration have emerged. India was born in villages. Unfortunately, there have been two divisions of India internally. One is shining India and the other is miserable India. Without any Gramswaraj, how would there be a true Swaraj. Rashtra-nirman is only possible through Gramnirman. Our leaders from Mahatama Gandhi to Gokhale, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and Ramprasad Bismil, everyone of them believed that Indias independence is incomplete till our villages become independent, strong and selfreliant. And only by adopting Swadeshi, the country can be selfreliant and supremely powerful. We are determined to build every village an ideal one.

evil. In villages free from diseases and drugs villages, practicing yoga will enrich peoples body, mind and soul. They would then be able to live a peaceful, happy and joyful life. Villagers even by one day of determination to stay away from drugs, alcohol and tobacco may bring the village on the way to progress.

Self-Reliant Village
The country is losing about 15 to 20 lakh crore rupees by relying on foreign products, clothes, foreign language, medicine, food, fertilizer, insecticides and foreign oil. By adopting Swadeshi, we have to save our money, natural resources, youth and childhood. We have to use domestic medicines, commodities, fertilizers and insecticides, produced from urine of cows and animals. In oil sector, we will have to be self-reliant and fulfill our needs. By developing our domestic industry, we must be able to become the biggest exporting country by means of globalization and industrialization. And by achieving all this, we would be able to save 25 to 30 lakh crore rupees every year and make India the most economically powerful country. We must avoid using foreign company made daily products like soaps, shampoos, creams, powders, footwear and start consuming lemonade and other potable domestic products instead of cold drinks. We will take domestically manufactured goods to villages and under a big scheme; we will use those commodities, which have been manufactured in villages or around these villages. If there happens to be any dispute over the price and quality of domestic products this could be settled by mutual co-operation. This way we have to make every village, district and India a fully self-reliant and independent one and have to get rid Indians of illusion of foreign goods and views. We have to take the slogan, Adopt Swadeshi-Save the Country to the whole nation. We have to take the list of domestic and foreign companies to the people.

Acharaya Balkrishna
Editor, Yog sandesh

Healthy Village
Establish a village unit of Bharat Swabhiman at a suitable place near a temple, a mosque or another suitable place and run Yoga classes everyday along with some religious chanting. There may be exchange of views on self-development, nation-building and other such issues. Yoga will help to build a healthy and meritorious village.

By developing our domestic industry, we must be able to become the biggest exporting country by means of globalization and industrialization. And by achieving all this, we would be able to save 25 to 30 lakh crore rupees every year and make India the most economically powerful country.

United Village
Until we are united, we would not be able to achieve anything. Under the banner of Bharat Swabhiman, having united villages and towns, the motive is to build a healthy, strong India, free from corruption, diseases and any other

Water Management
Water should be preserved by rain water harvesting, scientific selection of crops and co-operation in distributing water to its separate usage in villages. Every drop of water must be preserved so that water table can be maintained. Availability of water per head and per field has been constantly declining and if we did not pay attention to this then we would not be able to avoid conflicts, even wars.

Ashvagandha and Pattharcatta in our houses, fields, schools, colleges and temples. People have to be told about their qualities and usage and thus cure people in villages with this cheap, ancient medicine system.

Plantation
Trees protect our lives and this earth. Our lives are fully dependent on vegetation. We can protect our environment and ourselves from floods, droughts and other natural disasters by having trees around us. We have ruthlessly cut our forests, which has resulted into climatic changes and decline in seasonal rains. We can easily buy gold, silver, mansions and big cars in the name of luxury. But when it comes to plantation and environment our interests lack. The trees, on which our lives are so heavily dependent, would take 15 to 20 years to grow, so come along and take a vow to plant trees on the occasions of birthdays, marriage anniversaries and in the memory of our elders. Let us gift our friends ayurvedic plants like neem, arjun, amla and other herbal plants like giloy, tulsi and ghritkumari on celebratory occasions.

Gram-sansad
Real self-governance may come only when gramsabhas should take all the decisions and they should be implemented with transparency. This way there would not be any corruption and through these developmental schemes the nation will be built.

Real selfgovernance may come only when gramsabhas should take all the decisions and they should be implemented with transparency. This way there would not be any corruption and through these developmental schemes the nation will be built.

Poison-free Agriculture
Developed India and progressive farmer will only be possible with poison and chemical free fertilizers produced from urine of animals and high quality seeds. Some 5 lakh crore rupees are spent on poisonous insecticides and another 10 lakh crore rupees are spent on treatment of the diseases caused by poisonous fertilizers. Farmers spend as much as 80 percent on costly fertilizers and insecticides. Poisonous fertilizers and farmers suicide are pushing the country to the brink. We have to first develop Swadeshi agricultural system where low productivity with low cost is attained first and then high productivity with low cost is reached later. For this organic agriculture, we will have to arrange for a suitable market.

Qualitative improvement in Education:

Mahatama Gandhi always believed that literal knowledge is not knowledge; rather this is merely an element of education. Our regular education should be assimilated with Swadeshi and education of value systems, which would include local language, local dressing, views, food and religious education as well. In our schools, education to become self-reliant by adopting swadeshi should be given. And in our schools, training should be imparted to produce swadeshi goods, clothes, and ayurvedic medicines and a system be developed to sell these products in the market. This high quality, minimum cost products like shampoo, soaps, toothpastes, candles, incense, powder and others must be bought by local people. This will result into a revolution in education.

Cleanliness
Cleanliness and health are closely linked. If houses, toilets, streets and the villages are kept clean, then 99 percent of diseases can be controlled. And then happiness, health, progress, peace and divine gods will inhabit these places.

Swamiji writes to prime minister on

three major issues of national interest

Swamiji
writes to the Prime Minister on three major issues like- black money, corruption and change in systemand requests him to take effective steps. We are publishing the letter as it is for the people of this country who are deeply concerned for the well being of this nation. Majority of people of this country have expressed solidarity with the views and movement of Swamiji. People can send their views about the letter on the following addressBharat Swabhiman Office, Rajiv Bhawan, Delhi-Haridwar National Highway, Near- Bahadrabad, Haridwar-249405 Haridwar, India. Editor.

To, The Prime Minister, Government Of India, Prime Minister Office, New Delhi. Dear Sir,
This letter to you is aimed at raising the three issues of public interest and our national interest. I trust you that you will reply me in a week or two to inform about the policies of your government and the initiatives taken by you to deal with the issues, which I have raised in the letter. Today, not only our country but also the entire world is facing serious challenges on the economic fronts. India is world's fourth biggest economy. Nobody can stop us from becoming the economic superpower in the world provided the central government takes concrete steps to bring back the black money stashed in the foreign banks and also takes measures to end the system of black money which is running parallel to our government's economic order. The government should also take immediate measures to end the rampant corruption in the society and social imparity People of this country want to know about the central government's policies and the initiatives taken to deal with the issues like black money, corruption and bringing radical change in the system. Though we received a lot of verbal and written assurances from the government even before June 4. But when it came to take measures to deal with the issues which I am raising, the government hatched a conspiracy to kill thousands of peaceful protesters besides me on the night of June 4. The acts of Delhi police that night at Delhi's Ramlila Ground was the most

The people sitting in power may find it very difficult to bring back the black money stashed in the foreign bans but it is possible if our government and political leaders have a political will for doing this. We have the way but the only thing our government needs is the courage and a strong will power for ding this.

undemocratic, unconstitutional and inhuman act in the history of mankind. On June 4, Delhi police did all inhuman things at the instance of the central government. It was the worst kind of sin committed by the center. Even then, I want to give another chance to the government. I want to know its policy and initiatives to deal with the three major issues, which I am raising here. The government can omit the sin committed on June 4, if it comes up with a concrete strategy. If no strong measure is taken by the UPA government in the center during upcoming Winter Session of Parliament, it will send a wrong message about the government's intentions. People will infer that government doesn't want to dis-

charge its constitutional and moral obligations properly. They should also declare the property in the name of any trust or organization owned by them or their relatives. In a democratic set up, if a government fails to execute its constitutional responsibilities properly, it loses its right to stay in power. If the present regime doesn't reach to a logical conclusion in dealing firmly with the three issues, which I have raised, I will be forced to begin nationwide movement in a democratic manner for which center will be responsible. Present world is going through a critical phase. Over 80 countries across the world are witnessing wide-ranging popular uprising and movements. Many of the countries have witnessed revolution and change in their system in the recent time. If government doesn't act properly over the three important issues, it will itself be responsible for uprising, mutiny and popular movements across the country while if the center takes firm steps to deal with the issues in public interest, the nation will grateful to the government. About Rs. 400 lakh crores are stashed in the foreign banks as black money, whereas about 99 percent people of this country are facing poverty, hunger, unemployment and social and financial inequality only because of unjust system that we have in this country. Some of the corrupt and anti-social elements are leading a lavish life style on our wealth while we are forced to live in deprivation. If the government doesn't take immediate action to curb the deterioration in our system and continues to suppress the voice of deprived people of this country, people will definitely come out in the streets to take their dues forcefully. I believe that the government will take firm steps during Winter Session of parliament over the three issues, which I am raising.

European citizens and those Indians who are working against our national interests are leading a luxurious life style on the wealth of our country

while our own people are compelled to commit suicide. Government will have to wake up

The three issues associated with the interest of 121 crore people
1] We demand the government to pass a resolution in the winter Session of Parliament to declare the black money stashed in the foreign banks by some of the citizens of this country and the properties collected through ill means as national wealth. The government

countries of the world consider this act as a cognizable offence. The politicians and bureaucrats those who are found having no ill gotten money, will be honoured by the people whereas corrupt people will be punished. (B.) Physical and Technical investigations: Government must collect authentic information from all the embassies and high commissions about the purposes of the foreign visits of the top politicians, diplomats, top bureaucrats, business tycoons. For collecting such information, the government will have to install surveillance machines on the international gateways, as it will also provide information about those Indian nationals who are running foreign bank accounts. (C.) The government should also make laws to know the sources of the money invested in India through Mauritius routes. (D.) Special Finance Committee should be appointed to have surveillance on the bank accounts in the country and the money being transferred from India to abroad. If the government doesn't take strong steps to seize the black money stashed in foreign banks and declare it national property, it will give a wrong signal against the government. People will think that the black money belonged to the people in the government.

should also take action to ensure social and economic justice for the average citizens of this country.

Here we suggest five ways for the government to unearth the black money.

To change the fortune of the nation, it is required to change the fortune of rural India for doing this, our system is needed to be changed from top to bottom. Prosperous villages will make a prosperous India.

(A.) All the people's representatives, present and former, who have been elected during last 64 years since independence to either a municipal corporation, assembly or Parliament and all the mayors should give an undertaking to the Prime Minister giving full account of the property owned by them and their relatives and their money deposited in the banks in this country and abroad. A.) Government should also ask without any partiality under 'Corruption and Money Laundering act'to all those who have been public representatives during last 64 years as the members of Parliament, state legislatures, municipal bodies and those who have been elected as mayors and all the bureaucrats, senior lawyers and the businessmen who have annual turnover of Rs 20 crores and above to declare their property and the property of their relatives. Actually all the countries of the world are bound to disclose the bank accounts of Indian nationals under the provisions of UNO and no extra treaty is needed to be done with the governments of those countries where ill gotten money of our nationals have been stashed. All the 204

Following are the two important suggestions to be followed to end the economy of black money
(I) Ending the large size currency notes, imposing 1-2 percent of BTT (Bank Transaction Tax) to have a check on inflation, poverty, unemployment, fake currency and terrorism. Collection of tax will provide about Rs. 15 to 30 lakh crores to the government for running various welfare schemes. A powerful committee has to be appointed comprising of the dry honest bureaucrats to probe the source of the property of the people who have property worth Rupees five croeres and above. If any illegal property is found, the government should confiscate it. If the government wants to give a message

to the people that it is serious to tackle the menace of corruption, here we suggest the three ways to be pursued: (A.) Pass a strong and effective Lokpal bill in this Winter Session of Parliament. (B.) Put a strong strategy in place for the 33 lakh government officers in various government departments to ensure that they discharge their responsibilities with honesty to ensure justice for 121 crore people of this country. (C.) Bring a revolutionary change in our economic policies and the system of taxation. All the existing taxes should be replaced by 1-2 percent of Transaction tax. We need to shift to cash free economy. Such things will make our people and our traders free from about 65 types of taxes and at the same time it will put up to 99 percent check on corruption and economy of black money. (D)

based health facilities similar to the health care facilities available to rich people of our society. As per government data, 65 to 70 percent people who are facing some kind of ailment are unable to go for allopathic treatment and about half of the rest of 30 to 35 percent people either borrow money or sell their properties for the treatment. About 70 percent people can get treated by the means of traditional methods of treatment because our Indian system of treatment is able to cure about 90 to 99 percent diseases, however, it requires deep and comprehensive research. Electoral reforms: We need to implement (i) State Funded Election, (ii) for ensuring compulsory voting, the government should give employment and other financial helps to those who cast their votes in elections. (iii) Elections for all democratic bodies like local bodies, assemblies and Parliament should be held simultaneously. (iv) Prime Minister should be elected directly by the people. This kind of electoral reform will definitely provide solution to many of the problems our democratic set up is facing. National Management Policy: Water-management, garbage management, e-governance management, a transparent and justified policy for national resource management and an effective policy for population control. End of draconian laws made during British rule like land acquisition law, making law for ban on liquor to save the country and the society. India immediately needs an economic revolution and judicial reforms. Making it mandatory to put a label titled Indigenous Product on the bottle or pack of a product made in India by indigenous means. We can use a blue mark on the pack of the bottle or pack of such products. These steps will be immensely effective in ensuring economic development of the country. If the government doesnt take any right steps on the three issues which I have raised through this letter, people of this country will be forced to start a nationwide movement against center. I want the readers to tell me about their views on this letter so that I will interact with people effectively during third phase of my visit to Uttar Pradesh.

We want effective steps to be taken by the government in this direction If the government doesnt take any effective step over the three issues in the Winter Session of Parliament, people will take their fight in the streets, though peacefully.

Six vital points for the change in system

(A) Appointment of a National commission for the income of farmers: National commission for the income of farmers will provide compensation to the farmers for their crops. The sum to be given will have to be equal to the cost incurred by the farmer. This will curb the growing trend of suicide by the farmers. It will also facilitate equitable growth for rural areas, farmers and agricultural labourers. Equality in our education system: All the citizens of this country deserve equality in our education system. We also need to incorporate the lessons based on spiritual values and Sanskars in the studies of our children for their high moral value which will make our country and the society free from corruption and ill practices. Education for our children in vernacular is a must because it will enable the children from rural areas and poor backgrounds to become efficient engineers, doctors and scientists. For having a prosperous and equitable growth, we need to promote Indian languages parallel to English. Equality and Quality based health facility for all: All the 84 crore people who are deprived of basic facilities need equal and quality (E)

Formulae to a

Progressive Life
Thousands of blessings to Anita and Ajay Rao on the occasion of their wedding...
1. My heart-felt blessings for the complete mutual love, dedication, co-operation, respect and sincerity that you both have. I wish that this never wanes as the time slips by. Always remember this Looks can be made up by the way one behaves. But behaviour can never be made up by looks, education, merit, resources and splendor. So always try to excel in behaviour. Behaviour, which is liked by others, is always assumed good.Others should never be troubled by our behaviour. When it comes to behaviour, others are the best judge. Humans have the potential to observe their shortcomings, weaknesses, and meanness and overcome them and transform them. This is called changing the fate by the free will. Whatever we are today is the result of our past actions. Although this is true that freewill is determined by fate. Even if we want, we can slowly change our fate. Adopting a different path from the present path by drawing inspiration, any possible ways, is in fact the free volition (Purushartha). In changing the free-will, extreme hard work, collection of good books, Gods support and adversities have their own significance. But there is an origin to this change it is the noticing of ones own shortcomings. An ordinary human being, having soiled his or her clothes or body, only takes elief when it is cleaned. This is very well explained in Vyakaran Mahabhashya as Drashtasya hi doshasya susukah pariharh, which means destroying a shortcoming, once it is seen, is easy. Whatever laws that have been framed for keeping the body and mind healthy, strong and active should not be ignored. Like the body, mind also becomes sick. Sick body influences the mind and sick mind influences the body. Vyakaran Bhashya says Dvatamano hariratmantaratma Ca. Shariratma yata karma karoti yenan-

taramta sukhudah khe anubhavati. Antartma ca yata karma karoti yena shariratma sukhudah khe anubhavati It means there are two souls one shariratma and other antaratma. If we act bodily antaratma becomes sad or happy. If body takes bath, mind draws peace from it. If antaratma acts foul, it results into every cell of the body draws poison or on the other hand meritoriousdeeds result into happiness. 6. As I understand, suitable food, routine, timely sleep and awakening and suitable physical exercise keep the body fit. Mind becomes happy, strong and fault-free it one meditates, harbors clean thoughts and volition. 7. Like our body, our mind also gets polluted. Devotion and right thought everyday keep the mind clean and one can draw bliss this way. 8. Like a farmer furrows the field to raise productivity. Similarly, if mind is also furrowed then flowers of merits bloom. 9. By getting blessings from elders one should make ones life fruitful otherwise one life can become a desert. 10. Be a good driver of the vehicle of this life. Like a good driver, keeping all things in mind, makes the journey happy. And a careless driver causes accidents. In the life as well, sometimes brakes are applied; sometimes back gear is applied; sometime it is brought to the neutral. Sometimes one has to be quick and at others, slow. Vehicle has to be serviced timely. If one is not mindful of all this, the journey becomes troublesome. Try thisif you come across your mate moving ahead withaggression then apply back gear and see how peaceful it becomes. 11. For a complete life, one needs money in right proportion a house, co-operation, restrained speech and mind, rationale intellect, complete annihilation of ego, hard- working body, self-confidence, clarity of purpose and harm ny in thoughts. 12. Never assume others humility as our quality, others weakness as our strength and others duty as our right. 13. Resources complete the external part of life. Awareness and wisdom, not the bookish knowledge, complete the internal part of life. 14. Inner discipline is essential for life. External discipline can fulfill social responsibilities but it does not transform the mind. If one requires inner transformation then one will have to follow discipline on ones own. 15. One last thing. Good souls are roaming all around us; they are looking for people with higher consciousness. Make a suitable place for their arrival. Call on a higher soul; which carries specific value, specific intellect; invite it. They are ready. Dont fail. Would you mind my words? With all love and affection, my hearty blessings

This chakra is located on the both sides of our chest. It is stimulated when Muladhar, Swadhishthan and Manipur chakras are stimulated. The stimulation of this chakra make our bones and muscles healthy and strong. On concentrating on this chakra promotes love, affection and sympathy in our nature for others. Maharshi Vyas also suggest to concentrate on Hridyachakra. It is an abstract part of our body which is concerned to our nature and temperament.

Pranayama is highly effective for the people who are above 45 years. In PFT test (Pulmonary Function Test), it has been found that those people who practice Pranayama regularly, their respiratory system has been found very strong. Pranayama increases level of oxygen in our blood

It makes whole of our heart stimulated and our body becomes active and our respiratory system becomes functional. Kapalbhati Pranayama is highly effective in which we inhale and release air at a fast speed. The jerk felt at our belly while performing Kapalbhati helps us to reduce extra weight and jerk felt on intestine helps us to get rid of constipation and piles. Kapalbhati also clears the blockage of heart and a heart patient

Continuity of Pranayama taught by Swamiji at Yoga camps is very effective to cure diseases. This particular specialty of Swamiji's Pranayama has earned him a lot of fame across the world. His form of Pranayam keeps the levels of various hormones in our body in a balanced state. Pranayama cures many diseases. In Bhastrika Pranayama, one has to inhale deep breath and then release the full breath.

Anulom-Vilom Pranayama cures diseases related to our eyes, nose and ears. It also cures problems like cataract in eyes. It also cures problems in our brain. Performing all three Pranayamas like Bhastrika, Kapalbhati and Anulom-Vilom will always keep us free from dangerous diseases like diabetes, cancer and asthma.

It is highly impossible to prove in strong words that renunciation is achieved without practicing 'Karma'. One who performs 'Karma', who fulfil his duties without seeking result, achievers Brahman without any delay. The path of renunciation is primarily knowledge - based, but without doing Karma that abundant knowledge is not achieved. But all the functions are done in the presence of Atman only. That means senses do not go out of control as they are controlled by mind. Senses are lifeless objects. So they don't do any kind of evil doings. Then how can we say that an erudite person does not have any need of doing these activities! Everybody has to do his duties. Effective steps to

Protect
India has a large number of cow shel-

cows
Girish Trivedi
wami Ramdevji has started a movement called 'Bharat Swabhiman' in the country. Swamiji has started a mission to prevent our cultural degradation. Our culture, especially our Vedic culture has faced with a lot of degradation during last five thousand years. All the policies, which are being propagated by Swamiji are highly effective. Swamiji is of the view that those who are involved in the five kinds of crimes like- adulteration, corruption, terrorists, guilty of murder for dowry and those who slaughter cows should be sentenced to death. Swamiji wants a law to be passed in the Parliament for this purpose. Most of the cow shelter houses are running in loss. Actually, the movement for the protection of cows will be successful only when dairy farming is a profitable business. We will have to find the ways to make dairy farming a profitable business.

ter houses and people of this country take care of cows whole heartedly. But unfortunately, a large number of cows are slaughtered every year in our country. About 50 thousand cows are slaughtered every day in India. Andhra Pradesh in India has Asias second largest slaughter house where thousands of cows, buffalos and other animals are slaughtered every day. The blood collected in these slaughter houses are used as bio-product.

By ensuring growth and safety of the animals of cow family, we can make a stronger India Stop cow slaughter, breed cows and get a poison free pesticide. Use milk.

Actually we give importance to a cow only because it gives us milk. But we forget the importance of cow dung and her urine. A cow always does not give milk. But she gives dung and urine till her last breath. We hold a Muslim butcher responsible for the slaughter of a cow. But we forget the fact that a cow is sold to a butcher by a Hindu. The person who gives his cow to a butcher, knows very well that she will be slaughtered. But he is compelled to do so because of financial constraints. He is not able to feed the cow. Cow urine is a best medicine in the world to cure many diseases. Allopathic medicines are losing their effectiveness but Indian Ayurveda is successfully curing many diseases. Divya Pharmacy of Patanjali Yogpeeth is successfully using cow urines in its medicines to cure the diseases and these medicines are many times effective than allopathic medicines.

An animal of cow family produces about eight to 12 kg dung. This dung can be used as Compost Fertilizer by selling the dung, an owner of an animal of cow family can easily generate sufficient money to feed the animal. Animals of cow family of Indian origin are considered as Ideal in Mexico and Brazil and they are importing our cows and getting benefited

Patanjali Yogpeeth purchases cow urine for Rs seven a liter and extract of cow urine for Rs 14 a liter. If you have a cow, you can earn a good sum of money by selling her urine. We can easily make pesticides and insecticides by using cow urine. Such product will protect our crops without any harmful effect. Consumption of such agro-products will keep us free form many diseases which occur due to use of harmful chemicals as pesticides on our crops. A cow or ox gives about eight to ten kg dung everyday. This dung can be used for making compost fertilizer to be used on our crops. If this fertilizer is sold in the local market, a cow or ox owner can easily generate sufficient money to feed the animal. People in Brazil and Mexico consider the cows of Indian breed as an ideal. But it is how ironical that we are recklessly trying to pursue the western culture.

We are importing cows of foreign breed. But these cows and their products doesn't contain the qualities of Indian cows. Cross breeding of Indian cows and imported cows are destroying the specialty of our Indian cows. For proper protection of the cows of Indian origin, we will have to spread the bulls of Indian origin across the country for the growth of Indian cow families. Actually farmers should also use the oxen for various activities and the use of Tractor for agricultural activities should be avoided. Use of tractor in our fields kills the worms which are useful for fertility. We should promote the mission for the protection of the animals of cow family. This mission is a part of Bharat Swabhiman movement. We will also make the rest of the world aware of the utility of Panch Gavya, the qualities of Indian cows. US is widely using Compost fertilizer for agricultural farming.

'Geeta' has a philosophical approach towards life

the Srimadbhagwadgeeta is one of text most sacred of Hinduism. According to the legend of Mahabharata, it was Lord Krishna who gave the teachings of Geeta to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Geeta is a part of Bhishmaparva (Chapter Bhishma) of Mahabharata. Geeta depicts the philosophy of Ekeshwarwad (oneness of almighty) and the philosophies of Karmayoga, Gyanyoga and Bhakti Yoga in the best way.
philosophy of Upnishadas. Geeta is one of the three major philosophical text in Indian philosophical traditions whereas the two others are Upnishada and Brahmasutra. Following are the major commentaries written on Geeta- Geetabhashya by Aadiguru Shankaracharya, Gyaneshwari by Sant Gyaneshwar in Marathi language, Srimadbhagwad Geeta Yatharoop by Prabhupad, Geeta Rahasya by Lokmanya BaL Gangadhar Tilak, Anashakti Yoga by Mahatma Gandhi, Essays on Geeta by Aurobindo Ghosh, Geetai by Acharya Vinoba Bhawe, Geeta Tatva Vivechan by Jai Dayal Goyanka, 'Bhagwad Geeta as it is' by Swami Prabhupad (founder of ISKCON). Geeta has maintained its relevance even in the present changing social perspective. Geeta was specially liked by viewers of Mahabharat TV serial produced by BR Chopra and another TV serial Srikrishna which was produced by Ramanand Sagar. Geeta is popular not among people of Indian community but it is equally liked by foreigners. Today's management Gurus are highly mesmerized by its message of Nishkaam Karma (Act without any desire). Some of the religious organizations like ISCKON have played a major role in spreading Krishna Bhakti (devotion for Lord Krishna), the message of Geeta across the world. 'Bhagwad Geeta as it is' written by the founder of ISCKON Swami Prabhupadji is highly

eeta is based on the background of war of Mahabharata. The way a person is stuck in dilemma of life and tries to shy away from his responsibilities, the same way, Arjuna, a war hero of the legend of Mahabharata, has become illusive from his responsibilities as a Kshatriya. Sometimes we also get stuck in the predicament in our life and we are not able to find any way out. After a lot of meditation and contemplation about the problems of human life, our sages gave the teachings of 'Vedas'. The last parts of the Vedic texts are called Upnishada. Our mental abilities are our specialty as a human being and Geeta is the best example of the qualities of human mind. Geeta, composed by Sage Maharshi Vedvyas, is nothing but a short form of the

popular and this book has played a major role in spreading the message of Geeta in the western world. Geeta is world's one of the most important religious book. Geeta Press Gorakhpur has also done a praiseworthy work by publishing important religious texts and making available to the readers at cheaper rates. Geetarahasya was written by Bal Gangadhar Tilak in the Mandle Jail in Burma, now Myanmar. He has talked at length about the philosophy of Karmayoga of Geeta. Gandhi was highly influenced by the teachings of Geeta. He used to call it (the Geeta) as his mother. After reading Geetarahasya, Gandhiji also praised it as a great creation of Tilakji. Geetarahasya and Ganpati Mahotsava were masterstrokes of Tilakji in awakening the people against the hardship of British rule. In November 1910 when he was lodged in Mandle jail, he realized that the time has come to write his most

desired commentary on Geeta. Tilakji wrote Geeta with pencil in just five months in the jail. Once he thought that the British government could seize his creation 'The Geetarahasya'. But he had a strong faith on his memory power and he reassured himself that each and every world of the text would be recompiled by him after his release from the jail. Geetarahasya was written by Tilak with a view not just to preach the people of this country about spiritualism but also to make them aware about their duties and responsibilities towards their motherland. Swami Ramdevji has also presented a simple but knowledgeable explanation of the contents of Srimadbhagwadgeeta as 'Geetamrit' in a very simple form. Swamiji says that Maharshi Vyas has described eighteen types of yogas in the 18 chapters of Mahabharata. Geeta is a part of the epic compiled by Maharshi Ved Vyas. When Arjuna became depressed in the battlefield, lord Krishna awakened him and preached him to take discharge his duty as a brave person. Lord Krishna's preachings to Arjuna in the battle field is known as 'Srimadbhagwad Geeta'. The teachings of Geeta are still as much relevant as they were ages before. Teachings of Geeta awaken our soul. The world is like the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Problems of life make us depressed and disappointment. But teachings of Geeta encourage us to bravely take on our responsibilities in our life. It gives us relief from depression. It has all the answers of the questions pertaining to the problems of life. In short, "Geeta tells us about the philosophical views of life.

of Abdomen is the sourcethe all diseases. Every ailment starts from malfunction of abdomen. Stored faeces in our abdomen due to indigetion and piles cause for improper functioning in it. When the air is obstructed in the abdomen, it can not go up and down; all the fluid vessels become inactive. Resultantly Prana and Apana air would be defective and they penetrate into flesh and joints. With this, space in the abdomen would be blocked and starts malady.

iseases related to abdomen are distinguished in eight types as vataj, pittaj, kaphaj, sannipataj, saliljany, phlehajany, baddhodara vridhi and kshyajany. In the abdominal problem swelling is seen in hands, legs and abdomen. Physical activities are tended to reduce. Body shape becomes awkward. Lack of appetite, anorexia like symptoms are seen if the patient takes non-regimen. He loses his vigor and at the time of digestion burning, inflammation is felt. Breathing problem increases even for a little effort that is done physically. There would be no interest in doing any kind of work. Bladder joint pains even though a little quantity of food is taken. Thus a patient who suffers with this disease becomes more and more weak. Symptoms like sluggishness, slothfulness, impetus of feaces, inflammation, swelling, ascites are seen. This is a dreadful disease. Abdominal disease enters through the hair on the head. It creates disturbances in air, naval and in intestines. Air-caused abdominal disease - This disease suffers places like heart, naval, loin, genital organ, inguinal and after sometime they are relieved from the suffering automatically. Air discharges with noise. Urinals emerge in a lesser quantity. In Air-caused abdominal disease inflammation is felt in hands, legs, mouth and stomach. All joints are very much painful. Dry cough, body pains, heaviness in lower parts, accumulated faeces; body turns in black or red colour. Mouth starts watering repeatedly. This disease agonizes much.

Urinals emerge in a lesser quantity. In Aircaused abdominal disease inflammation is felt in hands, legs, mouth and stomach. All joints are very much painful.

When patted at the place where the disease exists, it sounds like that of mosquito noise. In pitta-caused abdominal disease, symptoms like fever, epilepsy, inflammation, thirst, virulence in mouth, diarrhea, and pallidness in skin and in nails, changing the colour of abdomen into green-yellowinshness, heat and inflammation in copper like veins are seen. Lassitude, inflammation, heaviness, sleepy, anorexia, dry cough, paleness in skin, growth in stomach, and it increases day by day. Regimen that arouses Tridosha, leaving body pains, traveling long distances, running, jumping like activities, may lead to the problem of dislocation of spleen in the left side of the body in weak personalities. The dislocated spleen becomes harder and then swells causing abdominal diseases like dry cough, distaste, asthma, pain, anemia, vomitings, epilepsy, body pains, inflammation, hallucination etc. Irritated fart feaces (placenta) obstructs pitta and kapha and thus causes for another kind of abdominal disease called 'Baddha gudodar' (hardening of rectal abdomen) in which some symptoms like fever, dry cough, haed ache, pain in naval, side parts and in anus. Stomach becomes hard like rock. Consuming bones and stone like things while eating, excessive eating lead to the bursting of intestines, cause growing of pus, secreting of pus along with odorous feaces in red and yellow colours mixed. Remaining part obstructs stomach and that leads ascites. Again it distorts and be a further cause of disease of secretive glands due to vatadi dosha. While practicing Snehapan swedan, vaman virechan, one should not take a glass of cold water excess suddenly. This creates obstruction to the aquifer sources due to the provocation of air and phlegm. This increases polluted water in

Pittaj Anemia
Arteries turn into Anemia is greenish yellow. Fever, darkness in front of the eyes, thirst, inflammation, bad odor, distortion, virulence in mouth is the symptoms. In kaphaj Anemia, we may find moisture in heart, constipation, and sour belching, inflammation, and drowsiness, virulence in mouth, horripilation, voice disruption, vomiting, and impatience like symptoms. These symptoms can not be noticed in Tridosha janya Anemeia. This patient feels unbearable pain. In eating clay: Anemia generates astringent air. Pitta is aroused by eating of brackish soil and kapha by soft soil. It dries fluids and fills blood in arteries and it stops there where the feaces is released along with worms and blood. Food that arouse pitta anemia may lead to jaundice as their pitta inflammates blood and flesh and mingles with sections of a cell. In this disease, urine, eyes, skin, mouth, feaces turn into yellow colour and starts pitta inflammation. If this is neglected without having proper treatment many more disorders may arise. This disease is called acquarious jaundice. If pitta is greenish or blackish, it is called 'pandu rog' or anemia. With the effect of vata, pitta, vertigo, is having strong desire for women, anorexia, a little bit of fever, dozing, indigestion, laziness like symptoms are seen at this disease.

stomach. Then anus becomes secreting water. Then stomach aches. Stomach fills with water. Disorders like shivering take place. This disease is called 'Dhakodar', 'udakodar' and 'jalodar'.

Anemic inflammation
Anemia disease is caused by pitta centered materials and by causes that lead vata provacation. Pitta air, being the strongest of all airs, prevails the whole body with the support of ten arteries. With the support of pitta, phlegm pollutes skin, blood and flesh. Skin turns into yellow colour. Colour dominates this ailment. That is the cause that this disease is called 'pandu rog' or anemia. In this disease, lassitude of heaviness of minerals and impairment in touch is seen. In Anemia cused by Acidity, all good qualities are destructed. Every type of blood decreases in this disease. Serum and bones become ineffective. All limbs become weak. Heart is attacked by fluidity. Eyes are swelled up. Mouth oozes more saliva. Patient feels less thirst. He can not bear coldness. Horripilation and indigestion develop. Physical strength gets reduced. Fever, breathe, ear ache, vertigo like problems encompass.

Medicines for fever etc.

To dilapidated vataj fevers guduchi or motha quath is more beneficial. Duralabh (ghamasa) with purified ghee destroys pittaj fevers. To get rid of all kinds of fevers dry ginger, pittapapada should be taken. Pitta fever would be subsided by nagarmotha, little cuscus, Absinth, castor, gudichi, sandalwood. Leaves of cuscus or nagarmotha are used to rectify pitta. All kinds of fevers and air disorders are controlled through the bark of Devdaru, coriander, neem, nagarmotha, leaves of bimba phal, Guduchi or triphala quath. To control sannipata fever caused by tridoshas, powder and quath made of yellow myrobalan, pippali, amla, chitak, corriander, cuscus, pittapapada are useful. Dry caugh is also relieved with the powders of kantakari (wild egg plant), dry ginger, gudichi, lotus, nagbala. In fevers related to Kapha, vata, hot water should be given. Quaths made out of dry ginger, pittapapada, cuscus, sandalwood are beneficial in controlling eagerness, vomiting and pitta fever. Inflammatory situation would also be pacified. Quath mada out of panchmula of beal is highly advantageous. Pippalimul, guduchi and dry ginger can also be taken as quath along with honey. To alleviate pitta fever pittapapada and neem are suggested. Quath made out of absinth, velvet leaf, pittapapada, vishal, indrayan, triphala, nishoth eradicates obstacles of fasces and controls fever.

In Anemia cused by Acidity, all good qualities are destructed. Every type of blood decreases in this disease. Serum and bones become ineffective. All limbs become weak.

Types of Anemia
Anemia is of 5 types. Vatj, pittaj, kaphaj, Sannipathaj and Mrustika Bhakshana janya (By eating clay). Decrease in heart beat, asperity of the skin, distaste, yellowish colour of urine, emerging less urine are the symptoms of this disease. Acute pain and glutinosityin body are found in air related anemia. Head, nails, feaces, urine, eye are turned into black or red colour, feel of bad odor in nose, and distaste, bowel lateral sclerosis are the symptoms in pandu rog or anemia.

have a life Before we explain nature, we assume it towe gather is and mind of its own. And the facts that nature is universally more purposeful than humans; in a more complete form than humans. And humans are also purpose-driven just because nature has the same characteristic. And the ways and means by which animals and plants express their purposefulness, same way humans do. Although, humans are more endowed due to the mind. But it is said that this does not form intellect because it is not only purpose-driven but also it is rationale and consciously aware. Definitely, nature has the greatest reserve of rationale because without that purposeful activities would not be possible.

Nature

Shri Arvind

A growing offshoot from a sapling which comes into contact with a piece of wood or stem immediately holds them as if someone holds something with a finger. This then alters its direction and surrounds the support it depends on. What is it that brings this alter-

ation? What is it that enables the offshoot to rationalize and move ahead this way? This is the internal nature or contentment (Sahajata) of the offshoot. And this is not internally different from the spontaneous reaction of a newly-born puppy, which in order to have milk, immediately starts suckling from mothers chest. Or it is no different from internal nature of humans mechanical needs and activities. We observe that Kumudini blooms with the appearance of moon and closes by the touch of the sunlight. This does not seem to be different from a rational reaction at the touch of flame of fire. Or this does not seem to be different from a sensation of disgust and disinterest that arise while witnessing a dreadful phenomenon. Or this is similar to opposing reaction over a disagreeable thought or view. But they are different from the point of view of description. One is devoid of consciousness, while the other is fully endowed with it. We mistakenly understand that an offshoots and Kumudinis action do not have any purpose, volition or Samkalpa. It is only a rationale power; it is not a conscious effort. Then what is our point of view? We adopt other names and call this volition a form of energy. We call this volition as natural reaction or the nature of physical structure. All these names are in fact masks to hide the same phenomenon. If we could not move forward from this, even then we should call this to be a big step forward. Because whatever we call nature, we have formed an opinion that it is endowed with a great volition or it encapsulates that volition or it is not different from something, which contains a larger purpose and contains millions of genetic purposes, which are intricately linked. And by assimilation, configuration and by adopting different means, completes the complex purpose. Human intellect can be attributed to be merely a limited and inferior activity, which is governed by this potential. And this potential fulfills the purposes despite being seen to have been opposing them. In this potential we may deny the existence of intellect because there does not seem to be any trace of consciousness. And it does not apply any human intellect or consciousness in any of its activities. But our objection is only elementally different. If we happen to accept this and seeing the abstract thought form inside, we would believe that these are mindless intellectual activities. And this mechanical purpose and resources would be same as that of selected by

Page 31

a supreme God. But if we happen to draw this conclusion then does our logical brain not question that we should believe in the existence of a God in nature or a universal intellect behind it? If the results of activities of nature are similar to that of produced by such powers then we must accept that these results are the causes of such powers? Which of the theory is true? Whether to accept that intellectual activities are originated in the intellect or we should emphasize the fact that they are driven by blind unconscious mechanics which randomly completes the activity? Whether it must be accepted that explicit existence of intellect in humans is the result of a specific intellect of the universe? Or we should emphasize that this intellect originates from a source which is devoid of intellect itself? Nature is endowed with intellect and mind, this fact is not accepted by the modern minds because they are intrinsically linked with the consciousness. We believe that before we understand intellect we would have to accept a rule of lord which is intelligent. We would have to accept existence of an ego who is holder of that intellect and who applies it too. In fact intellect has a right over us; we do not have a sway over intellect. Intellect uses us rather we use it. Existence of ego among humans is a tool and manifestation of intellect. And intellect is a nature- endowed potential, which manifests in all animals overtly or stays latent. So such an objection falls through. But the science itself by defining ego as a by-product of mind has stated that intellect is not the asset of humans, rather it is a power of nature and thus it is the quality of nature; it is a manifestation of universal power. Now the question remains, whether it is a universal and fundamental quality of nature? Or it is only a development of manifestation confined to a few selective objects? The same problem exists here as well that we link intellect with the organized consciousness. But let us notice those facts which have been brought open by science. We would mention just one such case. Let us talk about fly-catcher sapling in the US. This is advanced body structure, which feels hunger. Do we say that there is an unconscious hunger, which needs to feed on some insect and lays a bait to catch that insect, like a spider does? These are exactly the same intellectual activities, which take place in a spider. But this is controlled by the static nature of the sapling, and it is confined to fulfill

the hunger. Why should we assume spider to have this intellect and reject in the case of that sapling? Though it is in initial stages and limited to a specific objective, yet it is manifested to be the natural activity in both the cases, which in order to fulfill an objective, looks for suitable resources. If a sapling does not have a mind then mechanical and conscious intellect is only one object. And an offshoot holding its support or a sapling catching a fly or spider catching its feed is the same manifestation of an action. An action, which we may deny having any intellect, but is clearly a sort, as good as intellect. The only difference is that of an intellect led by consciousness and the other not led by consciousness yet it does act universally as well. Considering these facts, mechanics of nature seems to be merely an instrument of randomness. On the other hand, it becomes a high possibility that nature is purposeful and contains high intellect which is unorganized and remains un-manifested. With the available incontrovertible facts, we should accept the more-certain characteristics of nature rather random character. Similarly we should accept a rather obvious and harmonious explanation of the nature rather than a haphazardly presented randomness of it. But it is certain that consciousness is a specific element in intellect and its activities. And ego is always a different character altogether, except that it is another manifestation of mind. We understand thus because we assume that wherever there are no characters of consciousness there can not be any consciousness. This can be another understanding. We must remember that we do not know of anything about the lives of a tree or a stone, besides only the outer signs. Our internal knowledge is limited to understanding human psyche. Even within this limitation we must think a great deal before rejecting any idea. Humans believe that his or her sleep is dreamless, but we know consciousness is always present, manifesting in dreams and humans are unaware of their own internal activities then. And despite he or she continues to govern these activities. Someone having reached high concentration or another one having hurt traumatically, in both the cases nature manifests two ways. One, internal, away from the body, consciousness is active. Second one is body, which seems to be same in consciousness, as that is active and functions like a living organism in a tree or a stone.

intellectual activities are originated in the intellect or we should emphasize the fact that they are driven by blind unconscious mechanics which randomly completes the activity? Whether it must

Aids knowledge is
protection
21st century will be always remembered for the unprecedented developments in the IT sector but unfortunately, this century is also faced with its biggest challenge which is the deadly and incurable disease of AIDS. AIDS is the biggest threat of the present century. AIDS has started to affect the human civilization badly. Sub-Saharan countries in Africa are badly hit by AIDS. It is high time for us to contemplate seriously on this menace which has put the human civilization in danger and we will have to find the ways to protect ourselves from it. AIDS has been a serious issue for discussion in India for the past three decades. But even then, our focus has been around mere two or three issue rather than have a wide and comprehensive contemplation over the issue An Indian mind-set thinks that it is a foreign disease and byproduct of the openness of the western society. People in India also consider it as a problem concerned only with a certain section of the society and average citizens have nothing to do with it. India still lacks the basic civil amenities for its citizens like fresh drinking water, sanitation, healthcare facilities and food for all. In this ambience, people are not able to think in a broader perspective to find an effective solution for this menace.

The

t is estimated that about five to six crore people are HIV infected and of this, about one crore people are AIDS patient. Many of such people live in India. According to World Health Organization, about 25 lakh people are HIV infected. But actual figure could be even much greater than this number. AIDS can emerge as an epidemic in the coming years. Imagine, if a bigger chunk of the population of youth in India is caught by HIV/ AIDS, how hazardous situation our country will be facing. We even dont have facilities to cope

up with this situation. We are unable to provide normal healthcare facilities to our fellow citizens, how will we face the situation if HIV/ AIDS emerges as an epidemic. In that case, how will we take care of the children whose parents are HIV/ AIDS infected. Actually we dont have answer to such horrible questions. But until any effective and reliable treatment for this menace is devised, we will have to be cautious and well informed about this most dangerous threat to the human civilization. HIV/ AIDS can said to be a second name of death. We dont have any vaccine to save our self from this. Let us know about the two words- HIV and AIDS. To say, being HIV positive is the first stage of the problem while caught by AIDS is its last stage. AIDS is the acronym of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It means, the person who is caught with the disease has symptoms of many diseases and his immune power has got weakened. That means, many diseases, which cant be cured on account of weak immune power, surround the person and finally

HIV infection is incurable. Caught by HIV/AIDS means death is imminent. No vaccine could be made to counter this danger. In simple terms, HIV is the primary stage of the disease while AIDS is the final and last stage.

his life ends. The virus, which is responsible for this problem is known as HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Though we have not been able to find any foolproof solution to this problem, the good thing about it is that, we know about the nature and effects of the HIV virus. It means we can save ourselves from it even though we dont have any vaccine against it. Following are the five possible ways by which one can get HIV infected. Having unsafe sex, if a person undergoes blood transfusion without any precaution, using needle of injection without having sterilized it. HIV infection can transfer from an infected mother to a newly born baby. Besides these four ways, there is no other way by which HIV infection can spread. The physical contacts with HIV infected person like shaking hands with him, touching him, eating together and kissing him dont cause the disease to others. To save oneself from HIV infection one needs to be careful and take precautions during sex with

unknown person. Have sex with one and only one person in your life. During blood transfusion, make sure through laboratory test that the blood being transferred to a person is not HIV infected. Use disposable or sterilized needle for injection and be careful about birth of a baby from an HIV/AIDS infected mother. Keeping these precautions in mind can save us from this deadly disease. But it is unfortunate that still in this modern era, people feel hesitant about discussing sex related issues. Keeping the danger caused by HIV/AIDS, we need to change our mindset. About 80 percent HIV/ AIDS cases are caused due to unsafe sex. We need to discuss more and more about sex related issue to protect ourselves from HIV/AIDS infection. We need to break the social taboo about sex related issues. We will have to accept the fact that HIV/AIDS infection is a result of a certain kind of behaviour. We have to make best use of the various mediums of commuContinuedon page no 32

In this present era of communication, if people are not being widely informed about the infection, then problem doesnt solely lie with mediums of communication. It is somewhere else. The major problem is that we still feel hesitant about discussing sex related issues.

We have some simple ways to protect ourselves from HIV/AIDS. If we talk about necessary HIV/AIDS test, it will be like shying away from the reality of the problem. Compulsory test for HIV/AIDS crosses the limit of personal freedom.

nications and interaction like TV, Radio and Internet to make people informed about HIV/AIDS. Spreading more and more knowledge about HIV/AIDS infection in the society, especially among health workers will be highly useful in preventing the infection. Hospitals, healthcare centers and health workers will have to be specially informed and aware about this problem. We need more and more facilities to conduct HIV test for various medical purposes especially for detecting blood test. The patients should also be extra cautious about their rights especially when they are undergoing medical treatment in a hospital. Being cautious and careful will keep us protected from HIV/AIDS infection. A London based news agency informs that scientists have made successful achievements in the field of treatment of HIV/AIDS. The scientists have traced a genetic method, which will help a patient successfully to fight HIV/AIDS infection. Their research on rats has yielded positive results. The genetic method found by the scientists has been so successful that it greatly

strengthened the immune power of the rats, which ultimately destroyed HIV virus in their body. The scientists say that SOS-3 gene has been responsible for this deadly infection. When HIV virus attacks SOS-3 gene, it becomes highly active and starts destroying the immune power. But scientists increased the level of IL-7 hormone in the body of rats, which ultimately destroyed the impact of HIV virus in the body. It also destroys the HIV virus present in the body. The scientists claim that this achievement will help up successfully fighting other dangerous infections like Hepatitis-B, HepatitisC and Tuberculosis. Dr Mark Pelegrini, the leader of the scientists team, says that the virus of Hepatitis- B &C, Tuberculosis and HIV vehemently attack our immune system. Though our immune system responds strongly against it but it fails to counter the attack, as the intensity of the attack is so intense. He says that his team is trying to trace the reason for the defeat of human immune system against HIV infection. He says that his team tries to find out that if any kind of change in the genes can make our immune power stronger again. But the most important thing is that we need to keep ourselves free form social taboo about discussing sex related issues to keep us well informed about the menace. AIDS is not just a social issue or issue related with our morality in the society. It is a major challenge for our medical expertise. We need to keep us mentally prepared to fight the danger of AIDS. By bringing changes in our behaviour and taking to restrictions in our life, we can protect us from the infection of HIV/AIDS. Information about AIDS is the best protection from AIDS.

The danger of HIV/AIDS has intensified only because of our mental taboo. The menace of AIDS is a challenge for our medical science. By keeping the issues of what is moral and what is immoral, we will have to work for the protection of people from this disease.

Patanjali Yogpeeth discovers miraculous medicine

Sauromatum Venosum Sure

treatment for impotency and cancer

`Patanjali yogpeeth has, taking another giant step towards relentless service to the mankind, discovered a miraculous medicine and the credit goes to Acharya Balkrishnaji`.

charya Balkrishna is a great scholar and renowned pundit of Ayurveda and herbal medicines. Under his able guidance, a team of experts of Patanjali yogpeeth discovered a miraculous medicine from the remote areas, inside dense forests, located in Himalayas in Gadhwal area of Uttarakhand. Acharya Balkrishna said `he was searching the medicine, since long time and finding it gave him immense pleasure`. Ayurveda has description of many miraculous medicines and many of them are found only in books. One of them is Sauromatum Venosum, which is rare and scarce. The Ayurveda has said that this is miraculous medicine and very few people have access to it. Patanjali yogpeeth is doing indepth research and readying world Herbal Encyclopedia and

this herbal would prove a mile-stone in it. Patanjali Yogpeeth has, earlier too discovered many valuable medicines, which proved much beneficial to the society. Regarding Sauromatum Venosum, Raj Nighpatu has written that it could even help in making a person immortal. Impotent person could attain manhood. It is also a sure treatment of cancer. In fact, it is a miraculous medicine. Saints and knowledgeable people have surprising facts regarding this medicine. It is presumed that the medicine has the power to transform copper into gold. This medicine needs more and in-depth research. The other members of the investigation team include Dr Anupam Shrivastava and Dr Rajesh Mishra.

is the most Environment pollution this era andsensistive issue of it needs immediate attention. We have a responsibility to make sure that beauty of our nature will not be spoilt due to our reckless way of living. If we continue to avoid this most serious issue of pollution, it will definitely ruin the life on this lone green planet of the universe.

Paryavaran raksha parmo dharmah (conservation of our environment is our biggest responsibility)
t is our responsibility to keep the earth, air, water, space and fire clean and pure. We have to keep all the living being especially plants free from pollution. We have to use the our natural resources judi-

ciously to avoid any possibility of pollution. Rives, ponds our food and agriculture clean and pollution free. For this it is needed to use chemicals as less as possible in our day-to-day life. Let us vow to keep the environment around us clean. Having a positive approach towards our environment will help us to keep our surround pure and clean. The practice of compromising the safety of environment for the sake of development will have to be shunned. Our ancestors worshiped the elements of this environment like rivers, ponds, air, fire, sky and plants as deities. Forests and greenery on earth keep our environment clean, maintain the required balance among all elements of nature and fill ponds and rivers with water. Drought and severe scarcity of water in many areas is result of the reckless destruction of forests and greenery. In this present ear, human has reached to outer space and moon. But in the pursuit of scientific researches for voyage in the space, we should avoid polluting the outer space. India is a developing nation in comparison to industrially developed nations of the world. We can take lesson from other countries that destroyed the cleanliness of the environment in the name of development. We can save our environment. Our ancestors revered the rivers as deities because they have been lifeline for human beings. Mountains fill our rivers with water. It is our responsibility to keep our forests dense. We have to increase greenery on the earth. Pollution badly affect our life. To ensure the safety of our life, we will have to maintain an optimum balance among various elements of the nature.

Besides forests, we have to work for the conservation of wild life to avoid any kind of imbalance in our environment. It is a good idea to start the projects for the development of social forestry along railway lines, roads, and unused land in various places. Growing plants which can endure in such ambience is very helpful in conservation of the environment. Clean air keeps us healthy. It is our responsibility to spread greenery and keep our environment clean. Inorganic Chemicals are not being the natural parts of our environment. This is the reason why the our environment denies to tolerate these chemicals. Similarly the pollutants in the air. It is also a responsibility of our scientists to devise some scientific methods for conservation of environment from the pollution. There has to be methods to clear the smoke, gases and smog found in the air in the urban areas so that people could breath in fresh air. There has started a good trend to measure the pollutants released by vehicles in the big cities. Moreover, one should plant a tree on cutting one for use. Use of unconventional sources of energy like wind, solar power and bio-gas should also be used for our energy requirements. These sources do no harm to our environment. A new trend has started nowadays to generate energy from domestic and other waste. We have to conserve our environment form pollution at any cost. If we allow the pollution to grow, one day it will endanger our life. Conservation of environment is the responsibility of all of us. It our moral

responsibility to keep it clean and maintain its purity. Moreover, we have also to focus on conservation of water besides the conservation of environment. A data suggest that about 15 lakh hectare of forestland out of the three crore hectare is illegally destroyed every year. It is very necessary to stop such trends. It is impossible to completely stop cutting the trees because wood is used as fuel and also for the construction of various items for our use. But it should be done with sagacity. If certain number of trees are cut in one area, the same number of trees should be planted in other area to maintain a balance in the nature. Now environment and its pollution is being taught schools and universities. Actually this environment is like a theatre of all living beings. It is for us, by us and of us. It has no relevance without us. Diversity of all living beings make is live. Even in today's modern era, it is our responsibility not to do any kind of undue interference in it. We should have a feeling of respect for it. Forests keep us protected from pollution. Trees trap the carbon dioxide for its use and this way it keeps us carbon free. But with decrease in the forest areas, our environment gets flooded with the harmful gas. Forest is very important for keeping our planet safe. We have to maintain a balance between development and conservation of environment. Let us come and pledge to keep our environment free from pollution.

India is a developing nation in comparison to industrially developed nations of the world. We can take lesson from other countries that destroyed the cleanliness of the environment in the name of development. We can save our environment. We have to keep our rives clean because they are our lifeline.

3rd December, village of Khudiram Bose was born ondistrict of West 1889 in the Bahuvaininame was Midnapore Bengal. His father's Trailokya Nath and Lakshmipriya Devi was his mother. When Khudiram was in class IX th, he stopped his studies and joined national movement to make his motherland free from the colonial rule. He was so enraged to see the atrocities of the British rule on his fellow citizens, minor Khudiram vowed to root out the foreign rule from India. He hurled a bomb got arrested and happily sacrificed his life while holding the Geeta when he was just 19 years old.
fter leaving school, Khudiram joined revolutionary party and he was assigned a responsibility to distribute the 'Vande Mataram' pamphlets. He actively participated in Swadeshi movement of 1905. At an Industrial and Agricultural Expo in Midnapore in 1906, he distributed the copies of an article 'Sonar Bangala' written by great revolutionary Satendranath. A policeman rushed to him to stop distributing of the copies of the article. Khudiram gave him a tight punch on his face. For assaulting a policeman and distributing anti-government papers, he was arrested. But he was released by the court due to lack of evidence. According to noted historian Malati Mallik, Khudiram was arrested on 28th February 1906 but he successfully escaped from police custody. After two months, he was again arrested but was released on court's order. On 6th December 1907, he attacked the special train carrying the governor of Bengal at Narayangarh railway station but the governor was saved. In 1908, he hurled bombs on two british officers watson and P Fuller but both were saved. Khudiram was already associated with the revolutionary organization Yugantar. When Bengal was divided by governor general Lord Curzon, thousands of people came out in the streets to express their anger against the decision. These people were severely punished by Magistrate Kingsford in Calcutta. Later, Kingsford got promotion and was sent to Muzzafarpur as session judge. Yugantar Samiti assigned the duty to Khudiram Bose and Prafful Chaki to assassinate Kingsford. Khudiram was given a bomb and a pistol. After arriving Muzzafarpur, they first undertook a survey of Kingsford's residence and his

Stagecoach. Khudiram went to the Judge's office and saw him form close. On April 30, 1908, they were waiting outside the judge's residence and were waiting for him. The police personnel present there tried to drive them out but they convinced them to continue to stay there. At around 8:30 pm, the two saw the carriage of Kingsford. Khudiram chased the vehicle. It was very dark there. As the vehicle reached close to the bungalow of Kingsford, he hurled the bomb on the vehicle. It was the first bomb attack by an India for the freedom of his country. His sound was heard even in Britain. But actually, Kingsford was not in that vehicle. Two other British ladies were traveling in it who were killed in the bomb blast. Khudiram and Prafful Chaki fled from the spot and reached at Vaini station by traveling 24 kilometre on foot. The two revolutionaries were cordoned by the police at there. With a view not to surrender alive to the police, Chaki shot himself dead. Khudiram was arrested. On August 11, 1908, he was hanged to death in Muzzafarpur. That time he was just 19 years old. He had held Srimadbhagwad Geeta in his hands when he was hanged. After this incident, Kingsford resigned from his service and soon he died of fear of being killed by the revolutionaries. But even after his death, people cherished Khudiram's memories in their hearts. His memories are still alive in the millions of Indian hearts. Khudiram's deeds became a great source of inspiration. The weavers of Bengal started weaving a special kind of cloth in his memory. Millions of people mourned his death. Youths started wearing a special Dhoti printed with Khudiram's name.

Minor Khudiram Bose sacrificed his life for the freedom of India his memories will always remain immortal

challenged. Over four crore people in India are physically challenged and over one crore people in India are visibly challenged. Over 20 to 25 lakh people are unable to listen properly and over 50 to 60 lakh people living without some important parts of their body. About one to one and half crore people are mentally challenged.
here can be many reasons for disability. Some people are disabled by birth. There can be some birth related complication responsible for one's disability. Lakhs of people become disabled due to some kind of accidents at their work place. Some physical or mental ailment can be a reason for one's disability. Some kind of disabilities are caused by deficiency of some important nutrients in our meal. Some times disabilities are caused due to taking alcohol in excess quantity regularly or consumption of access narcotics and drugs. Some times, divine devastation causes disabilities in human beings. The major question related to this problem is that, "can we stop or avoid the disabilities?" The answer will be 'yes', but to a certain extent. At least we can arouse interest in such people towards and can also minimize a sense of inabilities in such people so that they can live like a responsible person in the society. An institution named UNO Child Fund is working in about 104 countries for the welfare of children. This organization had observed the year 1981 as an

year for disabled children. That year, the organization conducted a survey about such children and worked for their rehabilitation. Government of India's SocialWelfare department is making special efforts in this direction. Being disabled is a big deficiency in a human being. It makes one physically and mentally weak. Disabled people have very little interest in continuing their life, let alone one's development. Such people get mere sympathy and disappointment in their life. A disabled person always lives with frustration and disappointment and they live with a sense that there is no hope in life there can be nothing better in life. Governments, NGOs, hospitals have always been engaged in providing help to such people. But even their collective efforts have done very little help to them. But the first and most important role can be played by the family of the disabled persons to help them improve in

life. In many cases, it has been found that disabilities are caused due to some kind of mistakes committed by parents or the doctors at the time of the birth of the baby. Though, a disabled person have some kind of deficiency but if the people around one uch person make sincere efforts, he or she can improve in day-to-day life. Mentally challenged person can make extra improvements in other parts of their body and can improve towards leading a n ormal quality of life. It has been seen that such people have improved themselves in various constructive activities which appears difficult to a normal person to achieve. These people need special attention of the people around them to make special improvement in their life. It is our moral responsibility to help these people to improve in their life.

of united India, re-manufacturer of Somnath Temple and one who has merged 522 princely states in order to fabricate an integrated nation, iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had proved his ability by making the impossible possible. Only a strong personality like Patel can remove the "Pakistan - mania" from the heads of Bhopal, Hyderabad and Junagadh rulers. Adherent

Prof. Ravindra Nath Mishra

ardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was born in Nadiad in Leva Patidar Gujjar community of Gujarat on 31st October. He was the fourth son of Jhaverbhai and his wife Ladba Patel. They lived in the village of Karamsad, in the Kheda district of the Bombay Presidency, where Jhaverbhai owned a homestead. In his childhood, a boil developed near his eye. Even after lot of medication, he was not get cured. There was a man in the village who used to cure boils by touching them with hot iron. The boy went to him. The man heated the iron rod till it grew red. But he hesitated, seeing at the boy's tender years. Patel himself picked up the glowing rod and burnt the boil. Those who watched him were shocked and screamed. But there was not even a trace of pain in the boy's face. Patel passed his matriculation at the late age of 22; at this point, he was generally regarded by his elders as an unambitious man destined for a commonplace job. Patel himself harboured a planhe would study to become a lawyer, work and save funds, travel to England and study to become a barrister. Patel earned a reputation as a fierce and skilled lawyer. After returning from abroad, he set up his household in Ahemdabad. At that time, he came in contact of Mahatma Gandhi. He then leave his job of barrister and vowed to devote his entire life in India's freedom struggle. He abolished Gujarat's "begaar" system in first state political convention. Patel led Jhanda satyagrah in Nagpur. His fame spread all over the country. Patel subsequently organised the peasants of Kheda, Borsad, and Bardoli in Gujarat in non-violent civil disobedience against oppressive policies imposed by

the British Raj. Due to tremendous success received by the Congress in all these movements, Mahatma Gandhi given him the title 'Sardar'. As Gandhi embarked on the Dandi Salt on 12th March 1930, Patel was arrested in the village of Ras and tried without witnesses, with no lawyer or pressman allowed to attend. Patel's arrest and Gandhi's subsequent arrest caused the Salt Satyagraha to greatly intensify in Gujaratdistricts across Gujarat launched an anti-tax rebellion until and unless Patel and Gandhi were released. Patel's position as the highest level in the Congress was largely connected with his role from 1934 onwards (when the Congress abandoned its boycott of elections) in the party organization. He became the Congress's main fund-raiser and chairman of its Central Parliamentary Board, playing the leading role in selecting and financing candidates for the 1934 elections to the Central Legislative Assembly in New Delhi and also for the Provincial elections of 1936. Not contesting a seat for himself, Patel nevertheless guided Congressmen elected in the provinces and at the national level. Right after independence, Patel took charge of the departments of home affairs and information and broadcasting. He later became the Deputy Prime Minister. While his tenure in politics, he had done number of great deeds for which he will be remembered forever. After suffering a massive heart attack (his second), he died on 15 December 1950.If Patel led the nation for few more years then the destiny of this country would have been different.

Sardar Patel made a great contribution in uniting the nation by merging all princely states.

Pandit Bismil touched the soil of his mother land for the last time to offer his gratitude and spread it on his forehead and embraced the death. There were thousands of freedom fighters who sacrificed their life but Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil was one such revolutionary who despite his poor and deprived family background, challenged the worlds most powerful colonial government which was popularly known as British government.

His ancestors belonged to Gwalior district of present day's state of Madhya Pradesh. Due to some family dispute, they had to migrate to Shahjahanpur. Bismil's father was specially careful about the studies of his son. After studying Hindi, Bismil started reading Urdu and soon he acquired a strong command in

this language. His father was a staunch Sanatani (a conservative Hindu) while Ram Prasad was an Aryasamaji. Ideological differences between the father and son led to hot ideological debate between the two. Later, Bismil left his father's hous due to his differences with the latter. A strong feeling of patriotism was vehemently emerging in his hearts. He was highly enthused to do anything for the sake of his motherland. Swami Somdev gave him teachings of politics and reli-

gion. Lahore conspiracy case appeared in 1916. Ram Prasadji read the 'Twarikh Hindi' of Bhai Parmanand. After the execution of Bhai Parmanand, Bismilji decided to avenge on Parmanand's death. It was the main characteristic of Pandit Bismil not to retreat after having resolved to do something. He was filled with sorrow on seeing the condition of the members of his team. When he was underground to dodge the British government, he wrote his books and translated some texts to earn money. The conspiracy to rob the train was meant only to collect fund for running the revolutionary movement. By executing the historical Kakori conspiracy, Bismil had rocked the world. Bismil was charged with the allegations of waging war against the British crown. The British government spent about Rs 10 lakhs to prosecute Bismil and was sentenced to death in two different cases. To save Bismil from execution, about 250 honourary magistrates, and 78 members of Natioan legislative assembly and legislative council appealed before the government. But inhuman British government was bent on his execution. When Bismilji was executed, he was just 30

years old. He had a span of 11 years of revolutionary career. The four other martyrs of Kakori conspiracy were- Rajendra Singh Lahidi, Ram Prasad Bismil, Roshan Singh and Ashfaq Ullah Khan. On December 19, 1927, Ashfaq was hanged in Faizabad jail, while Rajendra Lahidi was executed in Gonda Jail. On December 16, just a few days before his execution, Bismilji had stealthy sent his autobiography out of jail. After being sentenced to death, his other fellows tried to get him forcefully released form the jail. Chandrashekhar Azad was the master mind of this plan and Sardar Bhagat Singh, Kundanlal and others were part of this plan. On 18th December, the eve of the execution day of Bismilji, he was given milk to drink. He denied and requested to see his mother. His mother was immediately allowed to see her son. When Bismilji saw his mother, he broke down. His mother said, "You don't need to cry. You are making a supreme sacrifice. Happily sacrifice your life for your motherland." Bismilji said that he was very happy that he got a chance to die for his motherland. He further told his mother

that his tears were manifestation of his deep emotions for her. On December 19, 1927, Bismilji woke up early morning. After executing his morning activities, he was shaving. Just then Baba Raghavdas came to see him in the jail. Baba exclaimed, "today you are going to be hanged why are you shaving?" Bismilji replied that he was preparing himself for Mahayatra (greatest voyage). When Bismilji was being taken to gallows, all jail inmates had wet eyes. But Bismilji was smiling and he greeted everyone before his Mahayatra. He was chanting the slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vande Matram the moment he reached the gallows, he clamoured I wish the down fall of the British empire. While chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Bismilji let this world. A large number of people in Gorakhpur thronged at the gate of the jail. All were charged with emotion. On seeing such this huge angry crowd, the jail officers got scared and silently handed over Bismilji's dead body to the crowd to appease them. About one and half lakh people in Gorakhpur participated in a procession with the dead body of the great son of this soil. The procession went in every part of the city with the dead body. Near today's Ghantaghar in Gorakhpur, there was a tree those days. Bismilji's dead body was kept there and every one in the procession paid floral tribute to the great martyr with wet eyes. A statue of Bismilji near Ghanta Ghar in the city can be seen even today. His funeral took place at the bank of Rafti river. The site of his cremation is know as 'Rajghat'. The second Martyr who was executed in Kakori conspiracy was Ashfaq Ullah Khan. Ashfaq Ullah was born on 22nd October, 1900in Shahjahanpur. His father was Mohammand Safeeq Ullah

Khan and his mother was Mazhoorunnishan Begum, who was a very beautiful lady. Ashfaq Ullah had written in his diary that all in his maternal family were graduate while in his paternal family, no one could pass graduation. Some of his maternal relatives had served as Deputy Collector and Sub-Judicial Magistrate. During sepoy mutiny of 1857, the family of maternal relatives didn't participate in the fight against British. Infuriated mob torched their bungalow. That bungalow is still recognized as Jali Kothi (burnt Bungalow) even today. But by sacrificing his life for India's freedom, Ashfaq Ullah wiped out the stain on the his maternal relatives. When Ashfaq was a child, he was fondly called as Achchhu. One day his elder brother talked him about Bismilji and said that he is a great Urdu poet and a very able person. Ashfaq's elder brother Riyasat Ullah also told him that Bismilji was arrested in Mainpuri incident. Ashfaq started craving to see Ram Prasad Bismil. In 1920, Bismil was released and got engaged in his family business. Ashfaq tried a lot to come close to Ram Prasad Bismil but all the efforts went in vain. One night, when a secret meeting of the revolutionary organization was going on at the bank of Khannauti river, Ashfaq reached there. When Bismil was about to read a Urdu poem, Ashfaq said 'Aamin'. Listening this, Bismil called him close and asked his name. When Bismil knew that Ashfaq was the younger brother of his classmate Riyasat Ullah, he asked the youth to come to Arya Samaj Mandia and meet separately. This way Ashfaq joined freedom movement. Ashfaq was a far sighted person. He suggested Bismilji to have association with Congress party too as doing this would be helpful in their struggle. Later Bismil, Ashfaq and many other youths in Shahjahanpur joined Congress to intensify their freedom move-

ment. In Ahmedabad session of Congress, both of them, Bismil and Ashfaq, participated. One more colleague Premkrishan Khanna also participated in the Congress session. On August 9, 1925, when a train carrying the government's treasury was passing through Kakori station, Rajendra Lahidi drew the train's chain, Ashfaq put his mauser gun on the head of the driver and Ram Prasad Bismil took the guard in his control and threw his box out of the train. When no body could break the iron made treasury, it was Ashfaq Ullah who took the heavy hammer and vehemently hit it several times and finally broke it out. It was necessary to break the treasury as soon as possible because police or the army could have arrived to apprehend them any moment and many people might have died in the gun battle. On 26th September, 1925, many revolutionaries were arrested in Kakori conspiracy. Ashfaq Ullah could not be nabbed by the police. He lived in Nepal for some time and returned to Kanpur and lived at Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi's press for two days. From there, Ashfaq went to Daltonganj district in Bihar and worked for sometimes. But police was on his feet. As he felt unsafe there, he again returned back to Kanpur. Ganesh Shankarji gave Ashfaq some money and helped him to reach Bhopal where his elder Brother Riyasat Ullah was staying. Ashfaq lived in Bhopal for a few days and from there he went to Rajasthan and lived at the house of Arjunlal Shethi, a friend of his elder brother. He again fled to Daltonganj and got a new job. But when again he felt unsafe, he fled to Delhi and started living with a friend who was also a resident of Shahjahanpur. All conspirators of Kakori incident were convicted on April 6th 1926. But Ashfaq and Shachindranath Bakshi were arrested very late. A supplementary case was filed in December

1926. That day, CID police captain Khanbahadur Tassadduk Hussain visited the jail and tried to convince Ashfaq to apologize. Ashfaq decided to file apology plea with a view to get release from the jail and later again to harass the British government by giving even bigger blow to the colonial rule. Ashfaq and Bismil filed mercy pleas with the view that after getting release from the jail, they will intensify their struggle for the freedom of this country. But the pleas were not accepted and the government denied to grant them mercy. On December 19, 1927, Ashfaq woke up. Offered prayer to almighty. Touched the holy Koran on his forehead and himself reached to the gallows. Before being hanged, he said that he didn't kill anyone. God will go justice. After this he was hanged. Ashfq's dead body was being carried via train from Faizabad to Shahjahanpur. Despite his ailment, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi reached at Lucknow station from Kanpur to pay his floral tribute to the great martyr. He had hired a photographer Parasishah to click the photograph of Ashfaq's dead body. Vidyarthiji asked Ashfaqu's relatives to construct a concrete tomb of the martyr and also offered financial assistance for this purpose. Ashfaq's dead body was buried at a garden in front of his paternal house. The famous lines written by Ashfaq himself were carved on a marble sheet"ZINDAGI BADE FANA TUJHKO MILEGI, 'HASRAT' TERA JINA MERE MARNE KE BADAULAT HOGA." Both of Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaq Ullah Khan had command on Urdu poetry. Ashfaq's pen name as a Urdu Poet was 'Hasrat'. In the history of India's freedom struggle movement, the two worked as an ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity. Another noted freedom fighter Rajendra Lahidi was executed in Gonda jail. We salute their sacrifices.

Shraddhanandji in the afternoon. His room was open and occupants were in deep sleep. Acharya Vidhyavati ji and Jamnadas ji were also present alongwith Swami Shraddhanandji. Around 2.30 pm, Swamiji sat erect as someone is offering ambrosia.

eanwhile, a youth was seen ascending stairs. The doctors had already advised complete rest to Swamiji. When the guards on the gate stopped the youth, he urged for an audience to Swamiji. When Swamiji heard noise, he said `allow the person to come in`. A person, who had come with message for the last day, for whom Swamiji was waiting since long and now who had reached onto the gate, how can be turned back? He was allowed to reach inside and he said `Swamiji I want to talk to you on a certain issue`. Swamiji replied that he was ill and after getting well on his wishes, he would hold discussion. Then he asked for water and on the direction of Swamiji, the help brought a glass of water. After gulping water, he whipped up a pistol and fired at Swamiji. He shot two bullets and till the help could catch him, he fired again. Dharam Singh, the help did not care for his own life and tried to stop the assailant. And in the effort, the bullet hit him on thigh. Dharam Singh fell on the ground. The

assailant then tried to escape but Dharampal Alankar grabbed him. He held his hand, having revolver and rendered him motionless. Injured Dharam Singh rolled on the stairs but he alerted others that murderous assault has been made on Swamiji. The information spread in the town like wild fire and a pall of gloom descended. Whoever heard the unfortunate incident, was stunned. Earlier, everybody was expecting that he would be healthy soon but this incident shocked them. In Naya Bazar area of Delhi, a Hindu dominated area, none was expecting such incident. People rushed at the place. Many people gathered though none was willing to trust it. On the streets, shops, areas and houses, the same incident was being discussed. The incident has stunned people. The day (23rd December 1926, Paush samvat 1983, Thursday) was the same day, when sun god (Surya) departed towards North from South and over 5,000 years ago, Bhishma had embraced death willingly. Now Bheeshma of Delhi, the person being

After drinking water, he whipped out revolver and shot at Swamiji, who was sitting on the bed. He shot twice in a blink of eye. The domestic help caught him but by then, he fired again.

Never speak harsh and bitter

Acharya Satyanand Naishthik
Onc the route, he met some fractious elements.
They started making mockery of the seer. But it failed to make any impact on him. When the elements saw him undeterred, they started passing unsavory comments. When this too failed to make any impact, they started abusing him. They were confident that now seer would react in anger but he stood silent and calm. When all efforts went futile, they fell silent. Now saint told `you have done, what you could, now listen to me`. Mahatma asked when you donate something to anyone but he does not accept it then with whom the object would lie. Obviously with the giver, told the youths unanimously. `You are right. You abused me but I did not accept it and hence, it all lied with you`, said the seer. This left youth shame-faced and vowed not to abuse anyone in future. Education We shall never abuse or use filthy language. This is discourteous and ungraciousness. Abuses pollute ones mind and soul. And mostly, person does not accept abuse and it remains with the person, who is hurling abuses. a saint was passing through a village. On

loved by everyone sacrificed his life, and was shot dead. Dr Chimanlal Kikkani, Dr Ansari and Dr Abdur Rehman examined the body and confirmed the death. In the dying moments, Swamiji was seriously ill and doctors were fighting with the imminent death, giving warm medicines to him. But his death could not be avoided. Swami Shraddhanand did not take his last breath writhing in pain on the bed but his death brought martyrdom to him. The youth of other community, who was provoked did not know that his purpose would not be served even after killing Swami Sharddhanand and in fact, it would be just reversal of what he had thought. He might have not thought that his act would be an indelible mark on his religion and the person, whom he killed, would become immortal. Truly, Swamiji has the status of martyr. Though, Swamiji is no more but with his views, he is alive in the hearts of everyone. (Courtesy book on Swami Shraddhanand)

Not `Rogi`

waking-up for the whole day. Whatever you would do in the first hour of the day, it would ready your brain for the entire day. In the first 30 minutes to 60 minutes, just think of the almighty and magnificence of his world. Autobiography of great persons makes it clear that they start their routine in a better manner. Children do not need sex education but yoga education. A body is formed with five natural elements - soil, water, fire, air and sky. It is a fact that these five elements could cure many ailments of the body. More clearly, there are eight natural elements, which could keep a person healthy and sound.

Vayu (air)
In the human life, air is even more important than water. Air is ambrosia and lies as the soul. Inhaling fresh air in the morning purifies and strengthens minerals present in the body. It enhances human power and helps controlling various organs. It also gives happiness, cheer and peace. Pure air, pure water, pure soil, pure light and pure grain, these five items constitute `panchamrit`. Morning inhaling fresh air and walk, is the sure-shot treatment of many a diseases. To keep body, soul, purity, celibacy, happiness, energy, luster, power, youthfulness and jubilation, inhaling fresh air and morning walk are essential. Inhaling fresh air in the morning is also stated as consumption of ambrosia in wee hours.

human being is suffering from different mental and physical diseases. The main reason behind it is that the human being is distancing with the nature. Even one disease could make life miserable. The motto of `eating much and enjoying much` help the body becoming house of diseases. It is very clear that human being is distancing from the nature and this life style, having no place of nature is responsible for diseases taking shelter in the human body. Thus, include yoga, asans and exercise in the daily routine. Praying god and exercising yoga, are the key to peaceful life. Dont escape from the life and even dont enjoy it mindlessly but make regular practice of exercising yoga. The importance of body is more as soul lives in a body. Remaining healthy is the birth right and even birth duty of a human being. Include one hour yoga, 16 hours labor and 6-7 hours sound sleep in the daily routine.

In a human life importance of air is more as compared to water. Air is like ambrosia and is like soul. Inhaling pure air in the morning strengthens minerals present in a body. It also enhances human power and helps controlling organs. It gives happiness, peace and joy. The collection of pure air, pure water, pure soil, pure light and pure grains is called `panchamrit`. Inhaling pure air in the morning during walk is sure treatment to many of the diseases.

Diet
There is mutual relationship between body and food. Plain and vegetarian food strengthens all the minerals present in the body. It is better for health to take meal a little less than the hunger. Digestible food, taken silently is nutrient, healthy, satisfactory, enhances mental power and digestion capability. While describing importance of food in the spiritual growth `Chandogya upnishad` says `aharshuddhi, sattavashuddhi` means purity of food affects

Dr Jagdish Gandhi
healthy brain lies in a healthy body. A person becomes what he thinks. The daily circle shall start with yoga and prayer. The children should prepare themselves in first hour after

inner parts of the body, which in turn purifies mind, which becomes pure and confident.

Water
A person consuming water before sun rise lives long disease-free life with youthfulness. Water kept in copper pot is very useful and beneficial for the health. To drink little water while taking meal and after two hours is very beneficial. But drinking water when feeling hungry is very harmful. A person should consume two-and-a-half liter to three liter water in a day. It helps in smooth flow of blood. The quantity of water could differ according to the nation, season, nature and age.

destroyed. In connection with the benefits of sun to a human body, it is said in `Atharvaved` that master of all, inspiring almighty please give me strength with your powerful rays. Always give immense power to my life and body.

Exercise
Exercise keeps tiredness and laziness at bay and gives energy to make a person more efficient. It makes human body more healthy and shaped, and reduces obesity. It enhances hunger and ensures deep sleep. It beautifies face and reduces restlessness. Keeping good habits and exercise could ensure total celibacy. In exercise ` surya namaskar` is most important.

Fast
Fast develops body, mind, soul and brain. It destroys impurities in the body. It helps intestines digesting residual food. The body feels healthy and lighter. Fast also enhances spiritual power of a human being. It is said that if a person keeps fast on both the `ekadashis` in a month, his body gets purified.

Views
The health is directly related to the views in ones mind. Toughness of oath and purity in thoughts is essential to keep body healthy. Polluted thoughts make mind perverted, helping diseases control over the body. Pure thoughts, pure mind are life inspiring.

Sleep
For sound health, deep and sound sleep is also needed. Sleeping at night normalizes minerals present in the body and keeps tiredness and weariness at distance. It enhances power, energy, age, enthusiasm and also hunger. It also helps in wet dreams, seminal fluid, diseases of head, idleness and blood related diseases. While sleeping wear loose cloths and avoid covering face. The days sleep is harmful but if awaken at night or in summer, a little sleep could be taken. Before sleep make mind free from concern, fear and woes and be happy, satisfied and cool. Then pray the almighty and do some self-thinking. This gives better health and spiritual health. In the morning you would find great change in yourself. These eight elements keep a person healthy, prosperous and happy.

Sun
The original source of all powers, saving life, is sun. When sun rays fall directly on a human body, many diseases and bacteria get

A person, drinking water before sun-rise lives longer life. He remains youthful and disease-free for a longer period. Water kept in copper pot is very useful. During meal, water could be drunk in less quantity and better to consume water after two hours of taking meals. But it is harmful to drink water when feeling hungry.

Groin pain
in women
Women more prevalent among women are their body structure, nature of work and genetic reasons.
In the present scenario, newer fashion is also reason behind the problem. Today, modern and educated women use high-heels to show their beauty and slimness. But they do not know that this act is proving dangerous for their waist. The reason of waist pain among the women, wearing high-heels is that this exhibition disturbs their body balance, which results in strain in waist. This also develops more pressure on back-bone. This is the reason of back-ache and waist pain in the last months of pregnant women. During pregnancy, the bulging stomach causes more pressure on back and groin. are more affected with groin pain as compared to men. The reasons behind the problem

Dr RajuVaishya
It is seen that women are affected with groin pain. It is very painful and casts bad effect on the body structure and backbone. But a little precaution could keep the problem at bay.

he main biological reason behind groin pain in women is pelvic inframentry disease. Due to little infection in any reproductive organ, sensation develops in nerves and this causes groin pain. The other general reasons of groin pain in women are osteoporosis, infection in pelvic cavity, disturbance in menstrual and swelling on the uterus. When a women is being examined by the gynecologist or MRI scan is being done, the exact reason is identified as which nerve is causing problem. The part of the disc, pressing the nerve is cut, which cures the problem. Many breast cancer patients are also troubled with groin problem due to metastasis. Over 41 percent women are suffering with groin pain. Over 10 million women are being affected with groin pain. 80 percent women are facing the problem since past one year women from all age group are suffering with groin pain. But women in group between 16 to 24 years, every third women and in age group 45 to 64 years, every second women is suffering with the problem. In childhood and oldnage, women have more complaint of groin pain as compared to men. As compared to men, women are affected with the problem for more time. Men have more severe problem but for short duration. Menstruation is the main reason behind groin pain among women. Pregnancy and upbringing of children, also

contributes in groin pain. According to a study in America, 40-60 percent pregnant women are suffering with groin pain. Men have waist pain due to some injury but women have problem due to house-hold cores and upbringing of children.

In accidents, women are more prone to groin injury as compared to male. The recovery of women is slower as compared to men. The main reason of groin pain in women is lifting-up heavy objects during domestic chores.

Work and groin pain

Only 17 percent of the working women, suffering with groin pain had awareness towards waist and gets proper maintenance training. Health experts say that the manner in which work is being done is closely associated with the groin pain and it is the second biggest reason behind producing groin pain or making it serious. Women working in health service, hotel, catering, banking, finance, insurance industries are more prone to groin pain. Nurse is also one category, mostly affected with groin pain. Every year, over 80,000 women are affected with groin problem of which problem of around 3600 is so grave that they discontinue the job. Due to groin problem in working women, every year 4.40 crore work-days are lost.

Though, groin pain does not particularly affect women but there are certain reasons, which establish relationship between women and groin pain. Due to the nature of work, mostly women are doing, they are more prone to waist pain. Works like pulling, pushing with more body movements, like inspection in super market, production sector, safai kamgars and machine operators. Workers in shops and other factories, employees of telephone, call centres or bank employees. Lifting weights, movements in body, nurses, particularly looking after infants, social workers and teachers. Less salary and low work satisfaction. Normally women earn less as compared to their male counterparts and due to domestic responsibility, their chances of full time employment are less.

At home also, women work more

Main reasons behind groin pain are marketing, lifting heavy weights, cleanliness, bending, pushing and pulling of the body. Other reasons, aggravate groin pain are Pregnancy, change in hormones and other such changes. Looking after children like breast feeding, giving bath etc. Menstruation. Danger of Osteoporosis.

Fashion Hopes from women and mounting pressure

Women to exhibit more height, wear high-heel sandals, which has adverse impact on groin. Women normally wear body-fit cloths that cast adverse impact on their body.

Women, family and society

Despite women being ill, she takes care of the entire family. Mostly women are decision makers and health advisors at domestic front. When in need, mostly women come forward for practical or emotional help to others. Women are more in number in services to look after others and giving advice for good health. The advice to women for keeping waist and groin pain at bay is applicable to men and children as well.

The present life style has helped this problem to spread, in women particularly. Fashion, tight cloths and high-heel are major contributing factors in groin pain.

Nation is still economically slave

- Baba Ramdev
Farukkahabad (UP). Yoga guru Swami Ramdev has said that the union Government is responsible for loot of worth crores of rupees. The nation is still a slave economically. He was talking to the newsmen, on the first day of the two-day yoga camp, organized on the ground of Christian Inter College. Yoga guru said that the entire nation is celebrating birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi today. But it is most unfortunate that the nation is not, what had been dreamt by Mahatma Gandhi but it is what has been shaped in the British rule. Education is completely based on the British colonial ideology and some traitors of our nation are looting our wealth. He said that the nation has been independent from the slavery but economically it is still slave. Gandhiji has always promoted the ideology of Swadshi but leaders, enjoying rule since decades have forgotten his ideology. Taking help of lie, they captured the power. And this system needs drastic changes. Swamiji said that the basic objective of his janjaran yatra is to bring social and spiritual change in the society besides bringing back black money, stashed in foreign banks back to the nation.Swamiji said that due to the faulty policies of the central Government, 99 percent people are subjected to injustice. In the budget of education, medicines and education, there is disparity. On the death of Rajbala, he said that her entire family was nationalistic and patriot. Even the family has not accepted the compensation, offered by the Government. He said that whoever, tried to attack power was accused of irregularities. He accused the Government of committing fraud. He also said that the basic objective of the Police, in mid-night swoop at Ramlila ground on 4-5th June, was to kill him. He said that the central Government is corrupt and oppressor, which would never be forgiven. Babaji said that politics is the most hateful word in the world now-a-days.

Kotwar (Uttarakhand). Yogguru Baba Ramdev has accused that due to the wrong and faulty policies of the party, ruling the nation for almost five decades the entire economical power and prosperity are confined to just one percent people. In the eyes of people, the nation is poverty ridden. He urged the electorate, not to cast vote in favor of the party, which is not only responsible for looting Rs 400 lakh crore, kept in foreign banks but also conspire to muzzle the voice of people against corruption. In his Bharat Swabhiman yatra, he reached Kotdwar and talked to the journalists in Government Sports Stadium. He said that the objective of Bharat Swabhiman yatra is health and wealth means keeping people healthy and mount pressure to bring back the black money kept in foreign banks. He said that if the entire money is brought back, the country would have rationalized development and even grass root people would get adequate and modern medical facilities. He said that entire world is under currency war. He exhorted confidence that if economical policies are amended and black money is brought back to the nation, the nation would become economical super-power once again. He said that during his yatra, he is making efforts to make people aware socially and politically. He held central Government being led by Congress responsible for the burning and prevailing problems of the nation besides falling cultural values. He said that the sole agenda of the Government is to suppress voice raised in favor of religion, culture, yoga, ayurveda besides national interest.

Indian politics would be purified

- Swami Ramdev
Haridwar. The Indian politics is heading for a historical change and now black money, corruption and system change would be at the core of politics. The defeat of Congress in Hisar by-election is a strong indication that the movement is moving in right direction. If the Congress loss is analyzed, three factors come to light. They include character of Congress, the revolt of workers of Bharat Swabhiman in each village of Hisar against the sins of Congress and Anna Hazares appeal. Congress has lost its trustiness. Even if Anna Hazare stops on the issue of Jan Lokpal, we would not keep mum. We have three points in hand. They include black money, corruption and change in the system. The main reasons behind concealment of Rs 400 lakh crore in foreign banks, price rise, poverty, corruption and economic inequality are wrong and partial policies of the ruling Congress. While attacking Prashant Bhushan, Swamiji said that if people included in public activities give such damaging statement on Kashmir, it could be disastrous. He asked Anna Hazare to clarify his views on the subject.

Public gives befitting reply on the smearing campaign

- Baba Ramdev
Public has identified, who is right and who is wrong.
Haridwar. Yog guru Swami Ramdev has said that the public has given proper reply to the Government, involving in smearing campaign against him and his companion Acharya Balkrishna. After completing first step of the second phase of Bharat Swabhiman campaign, Baba Ramdev returned Patanjali. He held an elaborated discussion with Dainik Jagran Baba Ramdev will start second phase of his journey on October 7 from Kotdwar. After the brutal cane charge on the innocent protesters in New Delhi on June 4, this was the first public function outside Patanjali yogpeeth. Speculation was rife whether Baba would be able to restore his dignity and support. But the massive support on the first step has put all speculations to rest. Dainik Jagran held an elaborated discussion with Baba Ramdev on the issue. Baba Ramdev said that massive public response he received in Jhansi has proved that the public has rejected the smearing campaign launched against him and his colleagues. People have made it ample clear to the persons, involved in unsavory campaign about who is honest and who is deceiver? Who is right and who is wrong? He said that his objective is to bring happiness and prosperity back to the nation and the people. He said that there is no illwill or personal interest of his or other members of the team. He said that in these circumstances, if he is demanding to bring black money back to the nation, what is wrong in it? The money hard earned by the common man has been sent to the foreign nations. He said that this would end corruption eating into the vitals in the nation but a few people do not like it. For their own petty gains, they are pushing the entire nation into the hell. And this is the reason why he and his supporters are being harassed.

While speaking on the issue of corruption, black money in foreign banks and system change, he said that the Government needs to take drastic steps on black money issue. While replying to a question, he said that if the Government failed to take concrete measures in this connection, he would oppose Congress in the vidhan sabha elections to be held in five states. Sri Sri Ravishankar and Anna Hazare have also promised to support him in the anti-Congress campaign. Baba Ramdev said that he is going to write letter to all the political parties in this connection. And in next step, all the Members of Parliament would not be allowed to move. Congress responsible for corruption

- Swami Ramdev
Gopeshwar (Chamoli). Yog guru Baba Ramdev has said that present Government is responsible for the prevalent corruption and hence an honest work culture should be developed, teaching a lesson to the Congress. While talking to journalists Baba Ramdev said that due to wrong economic policies and weak legal system, 400 lakh crore worth black money has been concealed in foreign banks. Had the Government been slightest worried for it, it would have been beneficial to the nation. He said that the people sitting at the top are not taking any step in this direction. He lamented at the top brass, saying because of their insensitivity, 84 crore people of the nation are living under distress and misery and with jugglery of data; the Government is claiming eradication of poverty. He said that barely one percent of people control power and rest of the population is suffering. He said that in such circumstances, a homogenous society could not be formed. He said that over 20,000 lakh crores assets are still available in India. Even if proper and correct valuation of water, forest and land is made, India could surge in the category of powerful nations. He reiterated that it is Congress, which is responsible for the present crisis of the nation. Targeting the Prime Minister, he said that as the head of the nation, he cannot escape with the responsibility. He said that whenever condition of a house gets worse, the family head is held responsible and similarly when the nation is in mess, how the Prime Minister could escape responsibility? He said that this is the right time to teach lesson to Congress Government, neck-dipped in corruption, in the forthcoming Assemblies and Parliament elections. He said that his fight is not against any candidate or individual but it is against the party. Since wrong policies of Congress are responsible for the under growth, he has launched a nation-wide campaign against it.

Caretakers plundered the nation

- Baba Ramdev
Gochar\Gopeshwar (Chamoli). Yog guru Swami Ramdev has said that poverty in the country is due to large-scale corruption in the nation. He said that if corruption is checked, the nation could be said as sone ki chidiya (bird of gold) once again. He, without naming any party, lamented at the central Government. While addressing a meeting at Mela ground, Baba said that Rs 400 lakh crore has been plundered and deposited in foreign banks. If the money is brought back, the nation could become bird of gold once again. He expressed concern as the country tops the list of dishonest nations. He said that the people in power are responsible for it. If a house if burgled in the presence of the house owner, only he is responsible for it. He said that on June 4, effort was made to set baba afire failing which, now they are burning effigies. He said that such elements would face the consequence at an appropriate time. While discussing yoga, he said that yoga has deep relationship with Himalaya, rich in natural herbals. The proper utilization of it would elevate the living standard of people. He asked to follow foot-steps of ancestors and avoid drugs. He said pray the character (charitra) and not portrait (chitra). While giving examples of deities he said that they never took drugs. We pray them daily but do not follow their character. Lastly, he gave details of various yoga exercises for the treatment of different diseases. In Gopeshwar, Baba Ramdev expressed concern on the migration after the new state was set-up and asked to strengthen education and medical system. While addressing people participating in the yoga-science and nation building camp at Police ground he said the large scale migration from mountains is a cause of worry. He said that this is not a good indication for the future. He underlined that due to lack of proper education and medical system in mountains, people are migrating fast. He said that there is dire need to pay attention on it. Yoga guru also lamented at the prevailing culture of liquor and drugs and said that it is very unfortunate that young generation is in the grip of drugs and it is disturbing the social fabric. He also discussed black money at length.

Defeat Congress to save the nation

Bageshwar. Yogguru Baba Ramdev has said that if people want to save the nation, than in no condition they shall cast vote in favor of the Congress. The nation needs a firm Government and strong Prime Minister. He was addressing journalists at the historical Numaishkhet ground. He said that to ensure face-paced development, healthy and corruption-free nation, each individual would have to contribute towards the betterment of the nation and do his or her duty properly. Yoga gurus magic seen in Danya too

The scheduled program of Baba Ramdev was in Pithoragarh and Almora but on the request of the public representatives, he agreed to stay in Manya. People were enthusiastic and eager to listen to Baba. Baba in simple words, told his objective and said that whenever our house is burgled, we make hue and cry. We make all efforts to get thief punished and take our stolen money back. But why we are not demanding our share, deposited in foreign banks as black money. He said that it is the morale duty of every country man to pressurize to bring black money, deposited by the traitors back to the nation. He said that it is the moral duty of each Indian to bring black money back to India. He said that the prices of daily commodities have not shot-up normally but it is due to faulty Governments policy. And the Government would have to face the consequences. He said that the women on mountains keep distance from alcohol and smoking but men are badly involved. He said that such persons should feel their responsibility and avoid alcohol, which is in the interest of the nation and family too. Baba asked an elderly person to give him a `bidi` and administered oath to quit the bad habit. The locals praised Baba Ramdev for this effort. Baba asked the people that whether they could bring billions of black money, stashed in foreign banks, back to the nation, the public replied in negative. Then Baba suggested a way and said that now we would have to send such persons in the Government, who could work in the national interest and bring back the black money. While commenting on the central Government, he said that when I am struggling to bring black money back to the country, Congress workers are showing black flags. This portrays their character and the public is very clear on whether Baba Ramdev committed any mistake or not? And the people would get an opportunity to teach lesson to the corrupt people.
