Background Tuberculosis remains one of the major diseases afflicting children throughout the world.

World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated approximately 1 million new cases and 400,000 deaths per year in children due to tuberculosis. About 1943,5% of the world population infected by M. tuberculosis, and Indonesia ranks the third position among the highest-incidence countries of TB with the incidence rate of approximately 245/100,000 while the prevalence is 675/100,000. Objective To find out the incidence of pulmonary TB disease among children in Puskesmas Tuminting from January 2009 to December 2010. Methods This research was using descriptive retrospective method where the researcher studied the medical records of children aged 1 month 17 years that diagnosed with pulmonary TB. The variables that used in this research are incidence rate, sex, age, nutritional status, and BCG scar. Results There are 57 subjects, 30 males (52,63%) and 27 females (47,37%). 30 children (52,63%) are in 6 12 years category, 15 children (26,31%) in 1 month 5 years category, and 12 children (21,06%) in 13 17 years category. According to nutritional status, 41 children (71,93%) were normal, 10 children (17,54%) were moderately malnourished, and 6 children (10,53%) were severely malnourished. According to BCG scar, 40 children (70,17%) have scars, while 17 others (29,83%) dont. The incidence rate was 0,19%. Conclusion The incidence rate of pulmonary TB disease is considerably low. However, this incidence rate must be maintained or even lowered through outreach to the community about TB risk factors that influential, and the symptoms.
