How Tuesday means he babysat Tuesday means her ma went out Her breaking the bottle against her dresser Her taking shards in careful fingers How she stuck glass up in her Rinsed her hands in red red water Him taking off his belt Hanging up his pants real nice How he put the music on Gospel loud and clapping hands Her stare up to the ceiling Girl bed sinking from the weight How much he bled How the shards shoved in her When he hit her hard Slammed her head against the bed post How she called nine-one-one How they never asked his name He never came back over Her brand new bed
