HOW TO SAVE AN HTML FILE ON BBEDIT (MAC) AND UPLOAD ONTO UWEB

1. Each UCSB student is given the opportunity to create their own index page or homepage for a website when typing in http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~insertUCSBnetIDHERE. 2. In order to do this, click File at the top left, then Save As in BBEdit once your HTML code is completed. 3. A window will pop up like so You must then choose WHERE you would like to save your file. I chose Desktop for example. Then, in the Save As box, type in index.html and then click SAVE at the bottom right hand corner. 4. Once saved, log on to your U-Mail account at http://www.umail.ucsb.edu. Once logged in, click ACCOUNT TOOLS in the bottom left and then click the very first box titled U-STORAGE. 5. Once on the U-Storage page, click the very first folder titled UWEB, which will bring you to this page: 8. Insert your UCSBnetID after the ~ sign. The HTML code that you created on BBEDIT will appear as the index or homepage for your website.

Now click BROWSE and find your INDEX.HTML file that you just saved from BBEDIT. Once your file has been selected, click the yellow UPLOAD FILE(S) button. 7. Now that your file is uploaded, you will have your very own website if you type in: http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~insertUCSBnetIDHERE.
