STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
When I was eleven years old, my teacher taught me a poem, ULYSSIS, written by Lord Alfred Tennyson. That sowed a seed for unquenchable thirst for knowledge. The words that came from my teacher and the theme in that poem still rings in year. I will drink life to the lees. This is the line of the poem which reminds me that one should be indefatigable in ones life. This is the gist of my Statement of Purpose. I Priya Darsini Manchineni, take this opportunity to introduce myself as graduate student of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University which is one of the finest institutions in imparting technical education in India. I wish to apply for graduate studies in Computer Networking at University Of Bedfordshire for September 2009. In what follows I have tried to summarize my motivation towards graduate studies.

Why Graduate Study?

To sail beyond the sunset and the baths Of all the western stars, until I die. In this ever changing world of Technology, where each new day seeds a spate of new concepts and applications and passing day makes them obsolete, I want to attain the highest level of education and transcend new horizons in the chosen field. The vast application potential and tremendous scope for research in Computer Networking and its technology has always fascinated me and I am keen to continue my academic pursuit in this field. This led to the zeal of pursuing Graduate study that calls for personal commitment in fulfilling the crafts of independent research and dedicated involvement. In turn, I shall get intellectual satisfaction and gratification of becoming a contributor of knowledge, with greater personal rewards of memory and discovery. The achievement I had at my undergraduate level cannot quench my thirst for knowledge. There is a meaning and destination in everybodys life. I strongly feel that my life will be fulfilled and fruitful when I achieve something in life. In this regard my graduation can become a stepping stone to reach my destination. Death closes all: but something ere the end, some work of noble note, may yet be done.

I believe that my graduate studies at your university can make me attain my noble achievement.

Academic Background:
In the pursuit of knowledge, I have always adopted a rigorous approach in order to obtain an in-depth understanding of subject at hand. This is amply reflected in my consistent academic career. Throughout my education, quantitative and analytical abilities have been my strengths. Mathematics especially interests me greatly and is proved by my task record in the subject. The pleasure obtained being absorbed in problems and finally arriving at the solution is immense. My natural propensity towards subjects involving mathematical concepts and logical thinking coupled with practical approach provided scope for innovations and applications of any analytical skills. These excellent skills kept me among the top 5% of about 0.2million students who have written EAMCET, an entrance examination held in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India for pursuing under graduation. The thorough background in science and ineluctability of Electrical in any aspect of life like in Engineering, Education, and Entertainment etc vindicated my choice and obviated my need to make Electrical and Electronics my undergraduate major. I was given strong foundation in core subjects like Network Analysis, Electrical Machines, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Measurements, and Microprocessors. I was also exposed to C language and Data Structures in my academic curriculum. With these subjects, I have excelled in my under graduation by being among top 2% of the class.

Preparation For Graduate Study:

In my Undergraduate studies I have benefited from the extent of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universitys syllabi content that has given me a comprehensive exposure to the core areas of Electrical and Electronics a strong conceptual understanding of the same. In these four years, I have strived to maintain an approach expending independent effort in all my endeavors. Learning by me and sharing my knowledge with others has been most worthwhile, when comprehending a concept.

Areas of Interest:
In the stream of Computer networking where technological advances and developments are occurring in no span of time. There range of applications and potential for research enthuse me to take Computer Networking as my graduate majors. This kindles my passion and makes me restless in my academic career. As this is a vast area that has more chance to explore new things, I strongly feel that if I invent something in this field that helps the progress of the development of universal. humanity, my life is complete and can make me

I am looking forward to analyzing the performance of various aspects of computer networks. I am interested in developing capabilities in Computer networks. I feel my abiding interests coupled with my ability will help me pursue Graduate Study in Computer Networking.

Reasons for Selecting University of Bedfordshire:

As I realized that my academic goal is not yet achieved and in order to reach the educational plateaus I desire, I need a good University like yours, which provides the best research facilities, excellent faculty, flexibility and a great student-professor interaction. I hope that my struggle, perseverance and triumph through my Undergraduate studies qualify me as an excellent student for Graduate study. I am confident that your University will be an ideal college for me to attain my full academic potential.

Summing Up:
I bring along a strong grasp of fundamentals in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and aptitude for research and teamwork, a zest for challenges and an enthusiastic desire to learn all I can. I would like to take with me, in addition to knowledge of Electrical, a network of strong and lasting relationships with my teachers and fellow-students. I hope that my background and qualifications are suitable for an MSc in Computer Networking at your esteemed University with possible financial aid.
