Elementary Field CoordinatorAugust 2011 to Present Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids, MI Collaborated with fellow Field Coordinators, Student Teachers and Cooperating Teachers to provide quality and successful student teaching experiences. Facilitated seminars based on best practices, management techniques, technology connections including a website I developed for Student Teachers (www.21resources4teachers.weebly.com), assessments, literacy development, active participation, subject integration, unit planning and implementation, and diversity in the classroom. Mentored student teachers to reflect deeply upon their teaching experiences and encounters with their host teachers and students. Developed strong relationships between Grand Valleys College of Education, Host Schools, and administrators. Cultivated an open learning environment where student teachers were able to share and collaborate based on their experiences, both urban and suburban. Conducted observations for each assigned student teacher to enhance and encourage best practices and quality instruction.

2nd and 3rd Grade Teacher October 2002 to June 2010 Lee Elementary School, Middleville, MI Planned and integrated a variety of lessons using differentiated instruction, multiple intelligences, and student directed learning. Collaborated with colleagues and district administrators to develop a curriculum map based on current county and state standards. Implemented and integrated technology into daily lessons using current web tools. Integrated a variety of authentic assessments (e.g. student portfolios, performance tasks, anecdotal records) and standardized assessments, (e.g. SRI, MAP, MEAP) to help students relate topic content to the real world and other academic content areas.
