The following image shows two beams and a plate.

Beam 2 has a free end at node 5 and the other end at node 6 which exists at one of the edges of the plate. This is Improper Connectivity of Beam and plate. Similar is the case with beam 3 which shares one node with the plate, while the other end again lies on one of the edges of the plate. You may check it from Tools Check Beam Plate Connectivity.

To remove this type of improper connectivity, break the plate such that the ends of the beams lie only at the vertices of the plate and not at any of its edge. One such case is show below. The plate is broken in such a way that the plate and beams now share common ends and vertices.
