How to Clear alarm IPPM Activation Failure

1. INTRODUCTION
Alarm IPPM Activation Failure has happen when Differentiated Services Code Point RNC and NODB. Possible Causes 1. The dscp of the ippath between the RNC and Node B is different. 2. The IPPATH on the RNC side is deleted. 3. The transport board on the RNC side doesnt support the IPPM.

1.1 Impact on System

IPPM is unacted, that will lead that the capability delectability of the IPPATH is out of action

1.2 The solution Clears alarm IPPM Activation Failure 1.2.1 Display on Node B and RNC to make sure about Differentiated Services Code Point 1.2.2 1.2.3

Remove IPPATH on Node B Add New IPPATH

The First steep - Log in to Node B and and It uses Command LST IPPATH

Use command LST IPPATH

After LST IPPATH see Node B ON Differentiated Services Code Point = 63.Now the value of DSCP is 63 so we need to change the DSCP from 63 to 46. This is Node B dont have alarm IPPM Activation Failure after LST IPPATH, so see Node B ON Differentiated Services Code Point = 46

Login to RNC o Use command: LST SCTPLNK o Check DSCP value is 62

Remove IPPATH on Node B

Before they remove IPPATH must make sure about IPPATH . If they dont clear about IPPATH when they remove IPPATH, it will be making Node B down. All Node B in M2000 has only one IPPATH ( IPPATH=0) -Command RMV IPPATH - 1.RMV IPPATH: RMV IPPATH: PATHID=0;

Add New IPPATH For Node

After remove IPPATH they must declare new IPPATH again Command ADD IPPATH

Add new IPPATH with new DSCP(DSCP=46): ADD IPPATH: PATHID=0, SRN=0, SN=7, SBT=BASE_BOARD, PT=ETH, JNRSCGRP=ENABLE, NODEBIP="10.42.23.241", RNCIP="10.44.224.50", DSCP=62, RXBW=6000, TXBW=6000, TXCBS=3000000, TXEBS=3000000, FPMUXSWITCH=DISABLE;

After add IPPATH already they must Display IPPATH again to make sure about Differentiated Services Code Point and alarm IPPM Activation Future clear or not. Note: When they remove IPPATH at day, it is affect to service customer so they can do at nigh.
