What are the challenges faced since the inception of smart school?

1. High cost is needed for,


i) maintenance ii) buy/upgrade software -government spend a lot of electronic facilities and new book 2. Not much democratization in education -students have no choice on what to learn and when to sit for an exam. 3. Lack of technological infrastructure and teaching materials in schools especially in rural area.

What are the challenges faced since the inception of smart school?

4. Lack of well trained teachers in ICT.


5. Sudden breakdown of electricity. 6. Misuse of technology. 7. Students have different abilities in learning. -They do not have enough time to study and understand the lessons as they have different ability to learn.

How were the challenges and problems overcome?

1. Using more effective materials and technology: - smart board - educational TV - hardware and courseware ( all new courseware developed will be web-enabled) - Only buy/upgrade software according to priority. 2. Have smart school promotional programme. - to put in the right perspective. - increase awareness of society. - familiarity of smart school to public. - gain confidence from public. - apply for sponsorship

How were the challenges and problems overcome?

3. Teachers need more training in ICT than student. Vigorous training


course for teachers and administrators. Teacher undergoing retraining in five skills: -learning skills -creative and critical thinking -facilitating -assessment and evaluation -technology competent 4. Emergency source should be taken in measure to overcome both electricity and Internet problem: -support staff in school -school net project: provide Internet broadband facilities 5. Block any unnecessary web sites that could disturbed learning process.
