Maintenance Overview
2.1.1 Summary
There are two types of Maintenance defined in the PASOLINK/ PASOLINK+ system, namely, preventive (periodic) maintenance and corrective maintenance. The customer is recommended to perform preventive maintenance according to the instruction in Chapter 3 Preventive Maintenance of this manual. Upon discovery of fault in the system, the customer should follow the corrective maintenance procedures detailed in Chapter 4 Corrective Maintenance of this document.

2.1.2

Precautions
Danger: Around 43V DC power (Depends on IF cable length) is superimposed on the center conductor of the coaxial cable between the IDU and ODU. Connecting a measurement set may damage that set. Touching the coaxial cable core may cause electrical shock. Caution: To protect the internal circuits against electrostatic discharge, engineers are requested to wear the wristband and connect it to the frame ground for Electrostatic Protection (ESP) before detaching the top cover. (a) Before beginning maintenance, notify the opposite station that maintenance is about to begin. (b) After equipment starts-up, allow the equipment to warm up for at least 30 minutes. (c) During maintenance, set the IDU to maintenance mode using a PNMT according to the user manual. (d) After completing the maintenance operation, restore all connections to normal.
