A good teacher is like a candle it consumes itself to light the way for others.

. On September 6th 2010 Teachers day was celebrated in our school. Children eagerly wished their teachers giving flowers and cards. Students from class VIII Shrilekha, Maunashree and Supreet gave a brief on life of Indias first President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishna. They told us the day is dedicated to teachers, who play a prominent role in the life of their students. The teacher acts as the guide for life, show the path towards success and enrich the personality of their disciples by imparting knowledge. India has been celebrating teachers day since 1962. The day commemorates the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a philosopher and a teacher par excellence. After this all teachers bowed to take blessings from teachers.

After school we had a gathering of all the teachers. Our General Secretary Sri. Dinesh Hedge, Joint Secretary Sri. A. G. K. Nayak and Councilor Ramachandra Bhatt graced the occasion by first lighting the diya. The programme started with invocation song led by Smt. Gowria and pre-primary teachers. Smt. Manjula VicePrincipal later introduced the teachers. Teachers took blessings from elders and a book was given to teachers to mark the occasion.

Sri. Dinesh Hedge spoke on this occasion and advised us to always have a positive attitude towards life, identify the good qualities in the students, nurture them and be a guide towards the path to success. The main role of a teacher is they are the creator of society; they create humans and in turn create the nation. Sri. A. G. K. Nayak also spoke on this occasion. He advised us to keep up with the time, acquire technical skills, and empower oneself with latest methodology of teaching as we are the main source of moulding the minds of future generation. Great teachers dont teach but are mentors and shapers of great human. The programme ended with snacks and tea for all the staff.
