Does Joe Manchin stand with his party or his state?

West Virginia Democrats Demand Manchin To Tell Them Where His Loyalties Lie
MORGANTOWN, WV Over the weekend, the West Virginia Democratic Party held their convention where they overwhelmingly endorsed President Barack Obamas re-election. During Saturdays session, delegates passed a resolution requiring all state and national candidates support all elected party officials, including President Barack Obama. This begs the question: does Joe Manchin stand with his party or does he stand with his state? Joe Manchin has refused to say whether he will vote for President Obama in November. He wont even tell West Virginians if he voted for the President in last months primary. Lets not forget 2008, when Joe Manchin campaigned for President Obama and even voted for him as a super delegate despite the fact that West Virginia Democrats overwhelmingly supported Hillary Clinton who won West Virginias Democratic primary by 41 points. Now, Manchin has distanced himself from the President and has refuses to answer a simple question. Will Joe stand with his old friend Barack Obama or does he stand with his West Virginia constituents? Four weeks ago in the state Democratic primary, a convicted felon garnered 41% of the vote and beat President Obama in nine of the state's 55 counties and won 72,500 votes statewide. As always, when asked to comment on where he stands, Manchin didn't directly answer the question. Joe Manchin is easy to like, but impossible to trust and until the lineup is changed we can expect the same results, said Josh Sowards, Raese for Senate campaign spokesman. John Raese will always stand with West Virginians. He will work to create jobs and defeat the Obama-Manchin war on coal. West Virginians have shown where we stand. We need and deserve more from our leaders. New President. New Senator. New Result.
