I am a risktaking scientist.

What sort of force did you use to move down an inclined plane? Did you use a lot of force?

PREP ARE OPEN-MINDED, THEY EXPLORE NEW WAYS TO MEASURE DISTANCE. We can use non-standard units to measure how far something moves when we use a push force.

PREP ARE INQUIRERS

We test ideas about different forces and different surfaces.

We linked more of our math strategies for solving a measurement problem in another book, Mr Gumpys Outing.

PREP ARE THINKERS and REFLECTIVE. We remembered how to measure things and how to show ideas creatively. We made Mr. Gumpys boat using in lots of different ways.

PREP SHOW APPRECIATION

Sharing ideas and work spaces help us build understandings.

function of of units when measuring something. We also explored our responsibilities when measuring length, weight and capacity and

PREP EXPLORE THE CONCEPT OF PERSPECTIVE. As we began to find out about our own family histories we also explored and reflected to see if other families were the same or different in any way to our own.

During the inquiry all students took turns at sharing, organizing and recording information about their own and others families.
We used lots of organizing and recording strategies in our learning.

PREP USE MANY DIFFERENT TOOLS TO BE COMMUNICATORS.

We use books, songs, computers, foods, artifacts and photographs to share and record ideas and information.

PREP MAKE CONNECTIONS. We learnt how to sort, record and organise information. Then we connected this to our own family and cultural origins and explored ways of sorting, organizing and recording this.
