INTRODUCTION: Corruption as defined by Webster dictionary is an impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle or inducement to wrong by improper or unlawful means. THESIS STATEMENT. Practically, corruption is enriching you at the expense of others in unlawful manner. Unlawful, generally means not consistent with the existing rules, laws or procedures. However, most of the time corruption refers mostly in the conduct of service in the government. But take note, corruption does not only happens or exist in the bureaucracy, it also exist in the private sector and even in our personal life. Why because any deviation from the existing policy, rules, laws is generally corruption. Being late in the office, taking breakfast during office hours, taking a piece of paper and write something for personal consumption is inevitably called corruption. In some way or another, corruption has allot of faces. What people just consider as corruption are those big and large amounts of money. But mind you, little things you did which is beyond the policy is called corruption. Going out from office to buy something for home is also corruption. Taking a nap during office hours, talking to peers, office mates and stopping your work is indeed corruption. Remember, you are being paid with that number of hours as indicated in your daily time record. But haven't you stolen even a minute of it? Then, that is corruption. So on our end before we utter that word corruption, lets check it with our selves, have we not done the same things too? How little is the crime it is still corruption. CONCLUSION: What we are supposed to argue then is the extent of corruption we are doing in each job we have? Are we worth for the pay we receive?
