* uni-variant Having one degree of freedom or variability. * Multi-variant Having or involving multiple variables.

* Descriptive Statistics summarize the population data by describing what was observed in the sam ple numerically or graphically. * Inferential Statistics uses patterns in the sample data to draw inferences about the population represented, accounting for randomness. These inferences may take the form of: answering yes/no questions about the data * Dot plots is a statistical chart consisting of data points plotted on a simple sca le, typically using filled in circles. There are two common, yet very different, versions of the dot chart. The first is described by Wilkinson as a graph that has been used in hand-drawn (pre-computer era) graphs to depict distributions.[1 ] The other version is described by Cleveland as an alternative to the bar chart , in which dots are used to depict the quantitative values (e.g. counts) associa ted with categorical variables.[2] * Types of variables Discrete variables A discrete variable does not admit intermediate values between t wo specific numbers. It is represented by whole integer values. The number of brothers of 5 friends: 2, 1, 0, 1, 3. Continous variables A continuous variable can take values between two numbers. The height of 5 friends measured in meters : 1.73, 1.82, 1.77, 1.69, 1.7 5. * Histogram is a graphical representation showing a visual impression of the distrib ution of data. It is an estimate of the probability distribution of a continuous variable * Frequency Distribution is an arrangement of the values that one or more variables take in a sa mple. Each entry in the table contains the frequency or count of the occurrences of values within a particular group or interval, and in this way, the table sum marizes the distribution of values in the sample. * Mean the expected value of a random variable, which is also called the popula tion mean * Median is described as the numerical value separating the higher half of a sam ple, * Variants
