Triangle Associates are seeking a part-time Urban Planning Associate to assist in Valleywide planning efforts related to Transportation, Housing, and Economic Development. The successful candidate will possess a background and interest in urban planning issues in the San Joaquin Valley. We need someone who is: smart, detail-oriented, maintains a professional appearance, well-organized, has good writing skills, has good desktop publishing skills, possesses a positive attitude, has some knowledge of government and Valley geography, has the ability to travel (occasionally), and has good communication skills on the phone, by email and in person. Software skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Constant Contact are needed. A Bachelors Degree in planning, economics, sociology, business, or related degree is highly desired. Typical duties vary and include: Administrative Assistance - filing, office management and organization Project Coordination - developing meeting agendas, writing up meeting minutes, coordinating meeting and event logistics Analytical - research, memo white paper summary reports, staff reports, financial analysis, and grant writing And some Project Management - project budgets, timelines, consultant coordination, public presentations, leading meeting discussions, follow up, etc. This is an excellent entry-level position and will expose the right candidate to extremely important projects and planning efforts occurring throughout the entire eight county San Joaquin Valley. Compensation: $10 to $15 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part-time employment opportunity with no health benefits or vacation/sick pay. Flexible work hours.
