General Observations Introduced and explained consent form and structure/content of interview clearly and concisely; good formal start to the interview Location good use of table gives them a prop to avoid awkwardness but no direct barriers; emphasises friendly nature of interview Digital recorder used to capture content of interview Questions asked clearly, good mix of open/closed questions to draw out answers from interviewee Confirming interviewee answers was good; nodding, re-emphasising key points from answers Body language was good throughout, relaxed but interested, strong eye contact without being intimidating. Leant forward but angled interested not aggressive Used hands to emphasise key points/ideas in questions well Good mix of structured and unstructured questions adapted well to offer follow up questions.
