Some Definitions Related to Appraisal Appraisal means a systematic review process through which individual and organizational commitment

to professional development can be realized; a process, in which professional development needs are identified, good practices are recognized, goals are defined and realistic strategies and programs are set in place. Self-appraisal is a process through which a person reflects with assistance, on the nature and extent of his/her own involvement in his/her work roles, and following this, the identification of those needs which may be addressed by personal or professional development. Professional Development is a process in which an individual changes and moves towards established goals to improve both effectiveness and efficiency in the role of the teacher and member of the school community (or in any other organization that you are working for) Role Description means a statement of the board framework relating the purpose of the teachers position in the school. The role statement provides a framework in which required responsibilities are carried out and forms the basis of tasks and activities within the particular school.
