The Bible is THE Word of God

The most important relationship you can have in this life is with God. Through reading the Bible you come to understand what God is like; His thoughts, His plans and His promises for you.

It also tells us about the continuation of His healing, forgiving ministry through those who saw him after the resurrection. The text of the bible is organized into Books Chapters within the books Verses within the chapters

The Word of God - The Holy Bible - is Gods special book. It is not like other books, but is a supernatural book.

GODS SPECIAL BOOK

For instance, if your see a reference like John 3:16, this would mean It was written by many different people, who The BOOK of John (Gospel of St. John) wrote by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. (All CHAPTER Three Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is VERSE sixteen protable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, If you look up John 3:16, you will nd that it says for instruction in righteousness - 2 Timothy 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall In 2 Peter 1: 4, Peter tell us that the promises in not perish but have eternal life the Bible are for us to participate in the divine nature of God. The Bible is one of the oldest books in the world. The most ancient portions of the Bible date back almost 4000 years. Yet it is still the most relevant modern book in the world today, for in it we nd the answers to lifes greatest questions: Where did I come from Why am I here Where will I go Even though the Bible is made up of 66 books, it has only once central theme: Gods loving plan to rescue mankind. The Bible is divided into two sections; the Old Testament (OT) and the New Testament (NT). OT tells us about Creation, the fall of man, and Gods work with His people before the birth of Jesus. NT tells us about Jesus birth, His life, His great ministry of healing and forgiveness for sick and sinful people, His death on the cross, His being raised from the dead and His ascension (going back to heaven. Every product that hits the market comes with an owners manual. The people who made it took the time and effort to let the user know how to get the product working. If the manufacturer lived with the user, then there would be no need for a manual. This is how it was when God created the Adam. God, Adam and Eve walked together in perfect understanding and communion. However, through disobedience to Gods instruction, Adam and Eve lost that connection and became separated from God. Adams descendants tried hard to get back to God, and voila; religion was formed, but mans every efforts were futile. All was not lost because God had a plan to reunite man with God; the plan goes by the name of Jesus. The bible is Gods explanation of his heart for man. We will need to know what it says if we plan to spend eternity with Jesus. More on this & on what it means to be born again in the next issue.

WHY DO I NEED THE BIBLE

My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us...

We are all familiar with this mnemonic for planets in the Solar system. Since Pluto's demotion, I recently saw this:

MY! VERY EDUCATED MORONS JUST SCREWED UP NUMEROUS PLANETARIUMS

My take on this is this: Humans, educated morons or not, came up with this classication system in the rst place and therefore inherently have the right to change it as necessary. Sentimentalism is another thing, but that is not my point. Ofcially a "planet" is a celestial body that: 1. is in orbit around a star or stellar remnants; 2. has sufcient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape; 3. is not massive enough to initiate thermonuclear fusion of deuterium in its core; and, 4. has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit. Change any of these parameters, and the celestial body ceases to be classied as a planet. God has set down some parameters too. It is all in your Bible. Again, my take on this is that we, in our current state of existence, come to know of him only after we are born ( I mean physically ) through some medium (books, audio (grandma), TV etc) or the other. When we do, if we choose to live according to his parameters, then we qualify to receive what he has to give; both now and eternally, and I gladly add that he is only too happy and willing to give to those who comply and ask. If we don't, then we get to live with and as others who don't; both now and eternally. The difference here is that God does not need to hold a referendum to adopt a new resolution because he has discovered something new, or because he now has a deeper revelation of something which he did not have before. The point to note here is that we are composed of materials that disintegrate if we choose to change the parameters set by our creator.
