July 6, an online, real-time panel discussion about plagiarism and intellectual property rights in higher education took place, sponsored and hosted by leading UK publication The Guardian, moderated by Guardian staff member Eliza Anyangwe. ICAI Director Dr. Teddi Fishman, along with other leading experts, both students and faculty, served on a panel whose primary conversation focused on how to develop sound policies and practice that will allow universities to remain innovative and open yet protect the pursuit of learning and original thought. The dialogue also concerned issues with regulating the internet and online content through governmentsponsored bills like ACTA, SOPA, and PIPA.
