Regarded as a Singapore icon, the Merlion was designed in 1964 for the Singapore Tourist Promotion Board (STPB) and functioned as its corporate logo from 1966 to 1997. There are five authorised Merlion statues in Singapore, the most well-known being an 8m statue designed by Kwan SaiKheong and sculpted by Lim Nang Seng. First unveiled on 15 September 1972, this statue is now located at Merlion Park, adjacent to One Fullerton at the Marina Bay waterfront. As a symbol representing Singapore, the Merlion features prominently in tourist souvenirs sold locally. Night Safari- The Night Safari is the world's first nocturnal zoo and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore. Is a unique experience billed as "the world's first wildlife park built for visits at night". Through the use of special lighting techniques, over 1000 nocturnal animals can be observed in their nightly activities. Park is open daily from 7:30pm to midnight. JurongBirdpark- Asia Pacific's largest bird park and home to more than 8,000 birds of 600 species from around the world, was opened on 3 January 1971. The S$3.5 million park draws in both locals and foreign visitors to a learning experience about the life and natural habitats of the birds found within the region. In recognition of this, the Park has been awarded a number of local and international tourism awards. It is also noted for housing the world's largest walk-in aviary with the tallest man-made waterfall of over 30 m. Sentosa-Sentosa, island, is the largest of Singapore's southern Islands. It functioned as an island fortress and a military base in colonial times, and with the Japanese occupation during World War II, it became a prisoner-of-war camp. Today, the island is a nature and recreation resort managed by the Sentosa Development Corporation. It was previously known as PulauBlakangMati or PuloPanjang. Marina Bay- Marina Barrage is a government-commissioned dam built across the mouth of Marina Channel to create Singapore's 15th reservoir, Marina Reservoir. Officially opened on 31 October 2008, it separates the water in Marina Basin from the seawater. It has been considered an engineering marvel because of its magnitude and complexity, and it was the subject of an August 2008 episode of Discovery Channel's Man Made Marvels Asia. The barrage is dubbed a three-in-one project as it serves three objectives: create a new source of water supply, act as a tool for flood control, and provide a new lifestyle attraction.

It is located in the Rattanakosin district directly adjacent to the Grand Palace. The temple is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. Wat Arum - The famous WatArun perhaps better known as the Temple of the Dawn, is one of the best known landmarks and one of the most published images of Bangkok. It consists of a massive elongated prang (Khmer-style tower), and is surrounded by four smaller prangs. The prang is described by the Tourism Authority of Thailand as 104m high, while most other sources quote figures around 80-85m. It is decorated by bits of porcelain which had previously been used as ballast by boats coming to Bangkok from China, a hallmark of the reign of King Rama III. The Wat had a brief period as host of the celebrated Emerald Buddha, which now resides in nearby WatPhraKaew. Chatuchak - The Chatuchak area acquired its name from the large public park of the same name. However, the area is best known for the largest market in Asia, the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Patpong- night status in Bangkok Floating Market - Floating markets had become a token of the communities in the central plain of Thailand for centuries. This type of market gained peak popularity in the Ayutthaya Period (1350-1767), thanks to the adjoining canals which suited for trading centres. Pattaya - is a seaside resort on the Eastern Gulf Coast of Thailand, about 150 km southeast of Bangkok. Pattaya is mostly famous for its go-go and beer bars, but local authorities have made some efforts to provide more family-friendly attractions and activities.
