Julian Phan October 31, 2011 Period 2 Halloween Story Nothing I couldnt see, but I could see!

Nothing White! Black! Flash after flash, I can see it every time I close my eyes. Its like waking up in a pit, deep, dark, and cold No, nothing could compare. I still feel it prickling up and down my spine. I still shiver when I hear it. Dead; Silent as the black pours in. Drowning! Suffocating me! Oh gosh! Someone save me! Miss Mai Ypsa Mai, right? How do you feel today? Dr. Eramth Gintsrow Rouymai asked. Alright, I think, I said as I folded and unfolded my hands. You think? So, why are you here today? I need help, I admitted as I closed my eyes. White! Black! Nothing Tell me. Whats going on in your mind right now? He asked while he scrawled something on his clipboard. I took a deep breath taking in the reality of where I was. I was okay. I was safe. Well, dont tell anyone, or hell come for me! Please! I begged. He nodded, and I told him everything. Everything I could remember at least I was running away. Away from what I did and who I was. I could never forgive myself for it, but he deserved it though! All those years, it didnt matter how I felt for him or what we were. He deserved it, and I had no choice either way. So I kept running and hiding. I was hiding behind my own shadow when they found me. They dragged me to somewhere cold and dark, and then they shoved me onto a stony platform. They strapped me onto it as I struggled to free myself, but my body gave in to their grasp. A rag suffocated me with

a nauseating smell as a cold sensation raced through my body. Eventually, I began to feel nothing, but I heard their footsteps fading away They were gone; leaving me in the dead silence as I gradually became unconscious I think I screamed or shouted because suddenly, there was a piercing ring in my ears, and I was on fire! My body was in flames, and I could feel my brain pounding against my skull, squeezing its flesh through my ear. I opened my eyes to find myself blinded by white, but I swear I spotted a black speck floating in the distance. I tried to reach for it, but my body refused; I couldnt move. So I laid there as the ringing shocked intervals through my body, burning in hell and feeling helpless. It was never going to stop; I was going to die. I felt dead. Instantly, an invisible blow crashed into my head and everything stopped. I was gone for sure, but then I heard a beating, slow and weak. I was alive! No! The beating instantly faded! My toes began to prickle, and I felt ice on my finger tips! I couldnt shut my eyes; I couldnt move anything. I was frozen, staring at the black dot as it taunted me. The hairs on my neck began to pull towards nothing, and my body was tugging and tearing in several directions! Then a buzzing began to send waves through my spine, and I shivered uncontrollably! Someone save me! I pleaded. Suddenly, the black dot started to expand as it moved toward me. The world flashed black and white right before my eyes as the black surrounded me. My body stopped shivering, and it felt warm as the blackness cradled, soothed and comforted me in its grasp. I felt safe for a moment; it was him! My mind began to relax, but then I lost my breath. I was drowning and suffocating in the darkness. I fought for my life, but my body gave up, and I vanished How did you get out? Dr. Eramth questioned. He stared at me intently, and then went back to scribbling words onto his board.

I guess I was gone for several days, so my partner went searching for me. He found me in a burial hole and saved me from the bug chewing at my skin, and then he took me to his safe house. I sighed and closed my eyes. I was okay. I was safe. How did you get here then? he questioned. I pondered at this for a moment, thinking about what happened. I met a lady, around my age, while I was at the park. She saw me crying, and asked me what was wrong. I told her my cover story: I lost my husband, and I was still recovering from the car accident we got into. She told me I should go talk to someone about this, and she gave me your card. I said as I gazed around the room. Bright white surrounded us, and there were only two occupied chairs, and a single candle burning on a table between us. Why is there a candle when the light is on? He eyed me suspiciously. The lights turn off occasionally, and I think it rather admirable to look at. It makes it easier to do things, he simply stated. How does it make things easier to do? I asked. Were not talking about me are we? So, do you know this ladys name? he continued. Her name is Em. Foeraweb, I told him. He wrote something down and smiled at me. Running Burning in flames. Ringing in ears, could not move. Frozen, black and white flashes. Black dot expanding & comforting her? Has to do with him somehow Shivering uncontrollably Partner found her in a dark pit with critters eating at her skin. Met lady and told a cover story So a lie? Tears slipped through my eyes as stared at the words. I grabbed the pencil and wrote Eramth Gintsrow Rouymai= Iamyour Worstnig Htmare. I am your worst nightmare I shut my eyes and smelled the warm air blanketing me. Everything is okay. He deserved it, and I did the right thing Im safe... Mr. Rouymai Im ready! I exclaimed. I opened my eyes, the candle vanished, and the light switch flicked off... Black WAKE UP!
