1 Creating Characteristic InfoObjects: InfoObjects are organized in what is called InfoObject catalogs and InfoObject catalogs are organized in what is called InfoAreas. Therefore we will first create an InfoArea and an InfoObject catalog for our characteristic InfoObjects.
10.2 Creating an InfoArea 1. Go to InfoObjects under Modeling 2. Go to InfoObjects under InfoObjects and RMC on it 3. LMC on the context menu Create Info Area
Provide a name and description for the InfoArea. In this case we used: InfoArea: BAInfoArea1 Long Description: Business Analytics InfoArea 1
LMC on Continue,
LMC on Continue,
The newly created InfoArea appears under the InfoObjects. You may have to LMC on the refresh button to see the InfoArea listed.
1. Go to InfoObjects under Modeling 2. Go to the InfoArea created in 1.1 above and RMC on it. 3. LMC on the context menu Create InfoObject Catalog
Provide a name and a description of the characteristic InfoObect catalog. In this case we used: InfoObjCat: BACIOC1 Long Description: Business Analytics Characteristics InfoObject Catalog 1
Make sure that the type of InfoObjects in this catalog is set to Characteristic.
Note that the Characteristic InfoObject catalog is created with a Version new, not saved and an ObjStatus of inactive, not executable. Thus we activate it by LMC on the Activate button.
Note that after activation the Version changed to active, saved and the ObjStatus changed to Active, executable. Thus we activate it by LMC on the Activate button.
Now Characteristic InfoObjects can be created/stored in the Characteristic InfoObject Catalog just created and activated.
Notice the active and c haracteristics are located in the InfoObject catalog indicators to the right of the catalog.
RMC on the catalog and LMC on the Create InfoObject context menu.
Provide a name and long description for the characteristic InfoObject. In this example we used:
Provide a short description for the characteristic. On the General tab, Select the CHAR Character string from the Data Type list. Set Length to 13 and Conversion routine to ALPHA.
On the Master data/text tab: check With master data check With text check Short text exists check Medium length text exists check Texts language dependent check Texts are time-dependent
On the Hierarchy tab, check With hierarchies check Hierarchies not time-dependent check Intervals permitted in Hierarchy.
On the Compounding Tab, Notice that you may have to LMC one or more time(s) on the right arrow to see the Compounding Tab. Set the Superior InfoObject (meaning an attribute representing part of a compound key of this characteristic) to 0CO_AREA.
On the Attributes Tab, Enter the attributes (0COMP_CODE, 0BUS_AREA, 0RESP_PERS, 0EVCURRCOST, 0PROFIT_CTR, 0ENTRYDATE) under the Attribute column, following each entry in the Attribute column with an Enter key (so that the rest of the columns are populated automatically). Mark each attribute as Time-dependent. Designate 0COMP_CODE and 0BUS_AREA as Navigational attributes (and provide descriptions for the navigational attributes).
Then LMC on the Back button to get to the Administrator Workbench Modeling.
