The results of Class X and XII board exams are given much importance. Some IIMs also consider work experience, profile and take care of having a diverse batch. So much so that even after scoring 99 percentile in CAT 2011, several candidates did not receive GD & PI calls from IIMs. The reason was, they could not clear the cut off marks declared by the IIMs. So how much criteria do the IIMs look for? CAT scores will get 70 per cent weightage and 30 per cent will be given to the Application Rating Score. Scores below 60 per cent would get a Rating Score of 1, scores between 60 to 80 per cent would get a Rating Score of 2 and those beyond 80 would get a Rating Score of 3.
