GENERAL PART
1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The vessel to be designed and constructed as a double screw, Twin diesel engine driven, fuel oil and
diesel oil tanker with a transom stern and to have machinery and all accommodations including
navigation bridge located aft.
The vessel is double hull and double bottom. It has some proof-pollution installations. The depth of
double bottom is 1m and the width of double hull is 1.25m.
The vessel can transport Class-2 F. O..
There are eight Cargo Oil tank (each side 4) in the vessel.

a) surface preparation
The both surface of steel plates and section bars of 6mm thick and above, which construct shell and
weather parts of decks and deck houses except small steel piece such as bracket, caroling etc. shall
be cleaned by shot-blasting and immediately shall be coated with wash primer at steel mill.
The grade of surface preparation shall be SA.2.5 of SIS (Swedish standard ) for steel plates and
section bars.
All section bars and steel plates except above mentioned ones shall be cleaned with disc-sander or
wire brush.

Suitable number of zinc or aluminum alloy anodes to be fitted to rudder stern frame, bilge keels and
sea chests to overcome corrosion from galvanic action.
MACHINERY PART
16. GENERAL DESCTIPTION.
The main propulsion unit shall consist of two heavy fuel oil burning diesel engine of the
manufacturer standards product based on theYANMAR design connected to gear box and driving a
fixed pitch propeller ( option a cpp).
The maneuvering stand for the main engine shall be located in the control room in the engine room
and in the wheelhouse.
The heavy fuel oil of 380 cSt at 50to be used for main engine and marine diesel oil (MDO) to be
used for diesel generators.
The electric generating system shall consist of two main generators and one emergency generator.
the main switchboard shall be suitably arranged in the engine control room.
The steam generating system shall consist of one combined exhaust gas/oil fired boiler.
Air compressors, pumps and heat exchangers for the propulsion system shall be so designed that the

main engine is satisfactorily operated at specified maximum continuous output with seawater of

29. PIPING AND MATERIAL
The material of all piping for each service to be in accordance with requirements of the
Classification Society and the manufacturer standard.
The cargo line to be of two(2)sets line independently for carrying two (2) grades of cargo oil, and
can be used each other in case of emergency.
The piping and piping fittings for cargo oil, seawater in tanks is to be of stainless steel (316).
The heating coil in cargo tanks and ballast tanks to be of stainleaa steel(316) also.
The S.W.and F.W. cooling system for M/E to be provided with automatic temperature adjustment
device.
The S.W.fire fighting and deck wash water piping on main deck to be provided with steam tracing
pipe.

32. GENERAL
The electrical equipment & material of the ship shall be designed and manufactured and installed and
tested in accordance with the requirments of the Rules mentioned in GENERAL PART &
associated Regulations, specially the IEC (International Electric Corporation) standards.
In the event of conflict or inconsistency between this specification and the machinery part
specification or the hull part specification, the machinery part shall prevail in respect of machinery
items and the hull part in respect of hull items.
33. STANDARD VOLTAGE AND SUPPLY SYSTEM
33.1 Generator
2 sets of generator, AC 400V, 50HZ, 3 phase and 3 wiring system, 245KW,1500r/min(for one set).
1 set of emergency generator, AC 400V, 50HZ, 3 phase and 3 wiring system, 65KW, 1500r/min.
33.2 Power System
AC 380V,50HZ, 3phase and 3 wiring system.
33.3 Lighting System and Small Electrical Apparatus
AC 220V, 50HZ,single phase and 2 wiring system.
33.4 Communication and Navigation Equipment
AC 380V, 50HZ, 3 phase and 3 wiring system.
DC 24, 2 wiring system.
33.5 Emergency System
AC 380V, 50HZ, 3 phase and 3 wiring system.
AC 220V, 50HZ, sigle phase and 2 wiring system.

33.6 Transformer
The following transformers shall be provided in engine room and emergency generator room for suppy
electric power to lighting and navigation equipment, etc.
2 sets of 50KVA, AC 400/230V, 50HZ, 3 phase, dry type, self cooled and drip-proof, class B insulation
(for main use).
2sets of 25 KVA, AC 400/230V, 50HZ, 3 phase, dry type, self cooled and drip-proof, class B insulation
(for emergency use).
33.7 Storage Battery(lead acid type)
1 set of storage battery (DC 24V,390AH)shall be installed for general use and alarm device,etc.
1 set or storage battery (DC 24V,195AH)shall be installed for the radio equipment.
34. ELECTRIC CABLE
34.1 Cable shall be of made in China except for special mention.
34.2 The cable for alternating current system shall be 2 wiring,or multi-wiring cable.
34.3 The type of cable shall be selected in compliance with the IEC standard to match their purposes.
35. DISTRIBUTION EQUIPMENT
35.1 Main Switchboard

The main switchboard shall be installed in enginne control room for generator control,shore power
supply and power distribution.
The main switchboard shall be of dead font box frame construction drip-prooftype,and shall consists
of:
2 sets of generator panel
1 set of 380V feeder panel
2 sets of 380V group starter panel
1 set of 220V feeder panel
35.2 Emergency Switchboard
The emergency switchboard shall be installed in emergency generator room for emergency generator
control and power distribution.
The emergency switchboard shall be of dead front box frame construction drip-proof type,and shall
consists of:
1 set of generator panel
1 set of 380V feeder panel
1 set of 220V feeder panel
35.3 Battery Charging and Discharging Panel
1 set of battery charging and discharging panel shall be installed in wheelhouse.
The panel shall be of dead front,drip-proof wall mounted type,and shall be fitted charger,circuit
breaker,fuse,meters,indication lamps,earth lamps,etc.on the panel.
35.4 Shore Power Connection Box
1 set of shore power connection box shall be installed on the wall of suitable positionn of upper deck
or superstructure.
In general,the shore power connection box shall be of drip-proof wall mounted type,with circuit
breaker and phase sequence indicator.
35.5 Electrician Test Panel
1 set of electrician test panel shall be provided for testing all kinds of lighting equipments.
The test panel shallbe installed on the wall of suitable position of engine room.
35.6 Distribution Board
Distribution board shall be provided in suitable position for supply of electric source to
power,lighting,communication and navigation equipments and small electrical apparatus circuit
through out the ship. In general, the distribution board shall be of metal case,drip-proof and wall
mounted type.
Each distribution board circuit shall be protected by a circuit breaker.
35.7 Wheel House Group Control Panel
The panels fitted in wheelhouse,such as the navigation lighting indication panel,distribution
board,lighting switches,etc.shall be grouped to one panel as far as practicable.
36.POWER EQUIPMENNT
36.1 Motor
In general,motors for auxiliary machineries driving shall be of drip-prooftype and insulated with
class E insulation.
36.2 Control
The starter of the motor shall be of drip-proof type and individual or group type.
In general,the starter shall be fitted near the associated machine, group starter panel for engine

control room shall be combined with the main switchboard.
The following equipment starters shall be provided in the group starter panel:

36.3Emergency Stop Switch
In order to prevent the spread of fire,emergency stop switches shall be provided for motor of fuel oil
handling pumps,ventilating fans,etc. and located near the engine room entrance and in the engine
control console and in the wheel house group control panel,etc.
37. NAVIGATION AND SIGNAL LIGHTS INDICATION PANEL
37.1 The navigation and signal lights shall be provided in accordance with the requirements of the Rules
and Regulations.
37.2 Navigation and Signal Lights Indication Panel
The navigation and signal lights shall be controlled by switches inn the navigation and signal lights
indication panel which shall be incorporated in the wheelhouse group control panel.
38. LIGHTING
38.1 In general,fluorescent lamp fixture shall be fitted in the accommodation space and incandescent
lamp fixture shall be fitted in other spaces.
38.2 Lighting fixtures and cable apparatus shall be chosen of suitable type such as water-proof type,nonwater-proof type,explosion-proof type depending upon their location.
38.3 In general,the lighting fixturess shall be supplied the power from AC 220V system except for other
mentioned.

42. TEST AND INSPECTION
42.1 Inspection During Mnufacturing
Principle electrical apparatus shall be manufavtured under the inspection of the Classification
Society and the Owner.
42.2 On Board Test
After completion onboard,the following test shall be carried out in shipyard:
1) Generator test(including MSB and ESB)
A) Continuous runninng test
B) Governor test
C) Characteristic test
D) Synchronizing test(except emergency generator)
E) Parallel running test(except emergency generator)
F) Insulation resistance measuring(both after and before above tests)
2) Motor operation test
3) Various electric apparatus test

6) Etc.
The details of this test shall be carried out in accordance with onboard test plan,which shall be
approved by the Classification Society and the Owner.
43. AUTOMATION
43.1 General
The design of automation on the vessel is in accordance with Notation CCS of LR Classification
Society.
43.2 Outline and Automation
1) Engine control room shall be located in enginne room.
2) The start,stop,speed,reverse of main engine and gearbox,can be controlled in ECR
3) The essential auxiliaries such as boiler,generators,air compressors etc.can be controlled and
monitored in ECR.
4) The alarm panel fitted indication and alarm lamps shall be provided for watching the M/E and
other essential auxiliaries in E/R.
5) Cargo oil room
The cargo oil control room is located at the poop deck,and to provided with follows:
a) The start,stop,running indication for cargo oil pump,stripping pump,ballast pump.
b) CO2 and foam fire fighting control station.
c) ODME device.
d) Level gauges annd draft measure system.
6) Two (2) sets of
portable oil-water interface monitoring device to be providedon board sounding, sanpling and
measuring temperature etc.
