LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT DEPARTMENT Amendments to the Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950. [G.O. Ms. No. 53, Labour and Employment (M2), 12th April 2012, Panguni 30, Thiruvalluvar Andu-2043.] No. SRO A-16/2012.In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 112 of the Factories Act, 1948 (Central Act LXIII of 1948), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following Amendments to the Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950, the Draft of the same have been previously published as required under Section 115 of the said Act.

AMENDMENTS
In the said Rules, (1) in rule 4, for THE SCHEDULE. the following SCHEDULE shall be substituted, namely:

(2) The fee payable for the examination and testing of pressure plant or vessel or water sealed gas holder shall be as follows: (i) 400/- (Rupees four hundred only) per plant or vessel irrespective of its size or capacity, for the external examination;

1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) per plant or vessel upto 4 kgf/sq.cm(g) for the Hydrostatic test; 2000/- (Rupees two thousand only) per plant or vessel above 4 kgf/sq.cm(g) for the Hydrostatic test;

1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) per plant or vessel irrespective of the size or capacity, for the internal (iv) examination; and (v) 4000/- (Rupees four thousand only) per plant or vessel irrespective or the size or capacity, for the nondestructive ultrasonic thickness gauging test.; (3) in rule 67-A, in clause (iv), in sub-clause (a), for the expression 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) shall be substituted; 50/- (Rupees fifty only), the expression

(4) in rule 86-A, in sub-rule (b), for the expression 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) shall be substituted; and

50/- (Rupees fifty only), the expression 50/- (Rupees fifty only), the expression

(5) in rule 95, in sub-rule (1-A), in clause (a), for the expression 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) shall be substituted.

SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT The Tamil Nadu Tamil Learning Rules, 2012. [G.O. Ms. No. 103, School Education (U2), 20th April 2012, Chithirai 8, Thiruvalluvar Aandu-2043.] No. SRO A-17/2012.In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Tamil Learning Act, 2006 (Tamil Nadu Act 13 of 2006), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following rules: RULES 1. Short title and commencement(a) These rules may be called the Tamil Nadu Tamil Learning Rules, 2012. (b) They shall come into force with effect on said from the 20th April 2012. 2. Definition:In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, (a) Act means the Tamil Nadu Tamil Learning Act, 2006 (Tamil Nadu Act 13 of 2006); (b) optional subject means the subject referred to in PartIV in sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the Act. 3. Powers and Functions of the Competent Authority:The Competent Authority shall exercise the following powers and functions namely: (i) To visit any school under his jurisdiction for the purpose of ensuring implementation of the Act; and

(ii) To issue suitable instructions to any school, as and when necessary, with regard to any matter concerning the implementation of the said Act. 4. Syllabi and Text Books for optional subject:The syllabi and the text books followed for teaching the optional subject immediately before the commencement of these rules may continue to be used for teaching the said subject. 5. Examination for optional subject:The optional subject may be included as a subject for examination, but the marks obtained in that subject shall not be a factor for deciding the promotion or detention of a student. 6. Time limit for submission of report to Government:The Competent Authority shall report to the Government, the result of the enquiry or the proceedings taken by him on the direction of the Government by an order under sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the Act within thirty days from the date of receipt of such Order.
