LEICA T1800 TC1800 TCA1800

Equal to any survey task Theodolites and total stations with 1 accuracy

Survey instruments for every task

Leica theodolites and total stations of the 1800 class Survey instruments with which you can carry out your daily work faster, more accurately and more confidently.
New technologies in instrument manufacture enable the measuring procedure to be largely automated. An example of this is the automatic target recognition (ATR) in the TCA1800. These technologies offer you a multi1 mm tude of decisive advantages: shorter measuring times, more precise measurements, easy operation, and efficient assignment of the survey team. The large choice of instrument types, combinations and accessories enables you to put together the instrument configuration which most closely meets your requirements.

The equipment on offer includes: the entire range of theodolites, from the classical theodolite to the automatic total station special prisms, remote control systems, laser plummets and assisted targeting a comprehensive software library with applications programs for all survey tasks.

Fit for the future

The standard programs for the most important survey tasks are integrated into the instruments. The comprehensive software library offers great possibilities. Whatever the application, there is a program for it which will make your work easier. With the help of GeoBasic you can even develop your own programs.

Excellent user guidance

All important data is seen at a glance on the large LCD display. Graphic symbols provide information about the status of the system. Functions familiar from the Windows environment (list boxes, help) ensure excellent user guidance. The clearly laid-out keyboard is particularly easy to use, because each key has only one function and related keys have the same colour.

Equal to any task Theodolites and total stations with 1 accuracy.

Just point approximately. ATR does the rest.

Tracking and recording without interruption

Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) is most useful for routine repeat measurements, e.g.:
Monitoring Sets of angles Measurements in both faces

The automatic target recognition facility is coupled directly to the distancemeasuring capability of the instrument. The observer only needs to point the telescope in the general direction of the target. An infrared light bundle, emitted through the objective, is returned by the reflector. After the reception of this bundle and its subsequent analysis, the telescope travels to align itself with the centre of the prism. Quicker, more reliable, more economic As accurate as measuring manually Time savings of up to 50% Constant accuracy of measurement, even for less experienced observers No expensive special reflectors necessary Resulting in faster procedures to boost productivity

In LOCK mode, automatic target recognition becomes automatic tracking. This is particularly useful during masspoint surveys, e.g.:
for topographical surveys or for setting up topographic models in coded surveys, for post-processing in LIS/GIS systems for staking out

In LOCK mode, the instrument automatically follows the reflector after the first measurement has been taken. Activating a key just once records all values without interrupting the tracking procedure. The 360 reflector is always aligned automatically with the instrument, making work easier. The target remains tracked, even if visual contact with it is lost for short periods.

Measuring from the target area

Software library

The optional remotecontrol system (RCS) enables the observer to trigger, control and code from the target area.

RCS is particularly suitable for mass-point surveys, cadastral surveys, staking out, and machine guidance, and also for lesser tasks which require no assistant. All instrument functions can be called up and displayed with the RCS controller. During stakeout, the display of the path differences between location and target area makes it appreciably easier and quicker to determine the point.

The applications programs: a real performance feature.

Leica Geosystems offers a wide selection of highperformance, practicerelated applications programs, tailored to the users individual wishes and requirements.

Create your own programs with GeoBasic

GeoBasic is a modern, DOS-compatible environment in which you can develop applications programs for your own particular requirements. Leica Geosystems has expanded the simple BASIC language by several highperformance functions to measure and record, to manage data and to display it. GeoBasic will help you to perform your survey tasks easily, reliably and in the modern manner.

Easy operation, better inspection

Simple operation of the controller because the display and the keyboard are the same as those on the TCA. Easy capture of complex and varied additional information, for example during work on utilities and in connection with GIS applications. Inspection of stakeout accuracy directly at the point to be measured.

PCMCIA cards for reliable data storage

The PCMCIA memory card, now the norm in the world of computers, is used for data storage. Leica Geosystems offers you cards which are specially tested for field use at temperatures from 20C to +70C.

Select the theodolite or total station which most closely meets your requirements

T The classical theodolites

The classical theodolites can be combined with all attachable distancers from Leica, in accordance with the distance measurement requirements. Lower purchasing outlay Lower power consumption Many options for combination and application

TC The manual total station

A sturdy and reliable multipurpose instrument for routine work, equipped with a powerful built-in distancer and intelligent applications programs. Comprehensive software library with loadable applications programs Convenient user guidance Practice oriented, economic

TCA The automatic total station

This instrument sets new standards. Its motorization facility is combined with the automatic target recognition facility (ATR). It targets fixed prisms automatically and tracks moving prisms. Automatic pointing saves time and money Inspections from the target area Simplification and speeding-up of all stakeouts

RCS Controller For the remote control of TCA total stations

With the RCS Controller, which is in radio contact with the total station, you can measure from the target area just as easily as from the instrument itself. The display, keyboard and functions of the controller are the same as those of the total station. The controller, the battery, the radio modem and the antenna form a compact unit which can be conveniently attached to the reflector pole. The equipment is rounded off with the 360 reflector, which is always aligned to the instrument.
