Calculate the total cost ( cost of material and labour) required laying a concrete foundation of 350mm height for the floor plan shown in Figure Q1 with a 1: 2: 6 ( cement: fine aggregate: coarse aggregate) concrete. The specific gravities of cement, fine aggregate and coarse aggregate are 3.81 kg / m3, 2.62 kg / m3 and 2.73 kg / m3 respectively. Cost of material Cement: Rs. 900 per 50 kg bag Fine aggregate: Rs. 5000 per 1000 kg Coarse aggregate: Rs. 3000 per 1000 kg Labour Time: 2 hours per 1 m3 Cost: Rs. 100.00 per hour

In the process of calibrating an electronic compressive strength testing machine, the output voltage is recorded for different values of applied load for several trials. The variation of average voltage value against the applied load is shown in table below.
Load / kN15 Voltage / 1.3 V a) b) c) d) 18 1.6 20 1.7 22 1.9 24 2 26 2.3 28 2.4 30 2.6 32 2.8 34 2.9

Plot the data on a graph sheet. [P2.2] Obtain the line of best fit for the data distribution. [P2.2] Is straight-line approximation acceptable for this data distribution? Justify your answer. [D3] During the test carried out to measure the compressive strength of a concrete block a voltage of 3.2V was observed. What is the load on the block? [M1]

A surveyor wishes to find the distance between two inaccessible points A and B on opposite sides of a lake shown in figure Q3. While standing at point C, she finds that AC= 259m, BC= 423m and angle of ACB measures . Find the distance AB. [P2.1] A surveyor reported the following data about a piece of property: The property is triangular in shape, with dimensions are shown in figure Q4. Find whether such a piece of property could exist. [M2]
