As we end the Natural Family Planning Awareness Week, let us continue to pray that more people especially Catholics would accept and take some time to study and apply the NFP teaching in their married life. Some people thought that God would understand if we fail to do it because of our human weakness. Without the couples serious effort to do it, this is a sin of presumption presuming Gods mercy and continuing to commit the sin of acting against the will of Gods design for procreation. Of course, no doubt God is merciful! But it is another thing when we indulge ourselves with worldly pleasures without any taking responsibility according to Gods will. There are more to reflect on this teaching, so let us continue to pray for one another, that more and more couples will open their hearts to Gods grace to be able discern and accept His will in their lives. Our Totus Tuus was a success! Thanks be to God! It would not be more successful without our kids. So thank you to all our kids who came and join us during the week, and also a big thank you to our parents for taking the time to take them to our hall. Grateful for the team that facilitated the event let us pray for them as they take a little vacation before going back to school: Virginia Brungardt, Melissa Davied, Adam Grelinger, and Jacob Jirak. Thank you also to our parish coordinators: Nancy Bauer and Teresa Davenport. We also thank our dinner sponsors: Mary Ann Duling, Mary Beth Otto, Rick and Barb Duling, Dan and Ruth Duling, Wayne and Ruth Leritz, and Butch and Mary Reif; and our lunch sponsors: Connie Sponsel, Michelle Puckett, Beth Wilson, Bernadette Coomes, and Nancy Hofer. Thank you to our drivers as we transport our kids to Arma and back to Girard: Bob Moore, Bernadette Coomes, Michelle Puckett, Teresa Davenport, and Nancy Bauer. Thank you to all our parents who joined us in the potluck and Dave Garret and the fire department for providing us water for the kids activity. And to all those who in one way or another made Gods plan to happen, thank you! Reminder again, with Totus Tuus over, our liturgical schedule will be back to normal this week. Also, I am encouraging everyone who has not taken Virtus Training yet to take this training. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. Aside from getting yourself volunteer ready, you will learn things that are applicable at home and outside of home that involve the safety of our kids and everybody. So please call the parish office or Linda Moore to register. The training will be this Wednesday, August 1 st, at 6:30 PM at the hall and it would last around two hours and it is free! May God bless you all! Fr. Roger

The No Holiday Month Did you realize that August is the only No Holiday month on the calendar? We dont need hats, horns, eggs, parades, flags, or anything of that sort to get through this month. Maybe thats why Arma insists on keeping the Homecoming celebration at this time. If you try, you can find some good things about August: you survived your vacation, the grass is brown and doesnt need cutting, its too late to diet for bathing suits and too early to start Christmas planning. Its too hot to cook and too dusty to clean the garage. Thank goodness for this leisurely time with no holidays. Even the creators of National Pickle Week, Plastic Furniture Month, and Miss Junk Food Princess tend to leave August alone. So, take advantage of this month, relax and realize theres no occasion to rise to except one: Dont forget the Arma Homecoming, August 1719. Its been around since WWII and still draws crowds from all over this area. St. Josephs will sponsor a Homecoming Breakfast on August 19th after the 8:00am Mass. Support our Church and the Homecoming and come for breakfast. Tell a friend.

St. John Vianney: Patron of Priests In October, 1986, Pope John Paul II made a four-day visit to France. He saw many cathedrals and visited shrines of saints, but those who traveled with the Holy Father reported that his most moving, and significant visit was to the town of Ars, where he commemorated the 200th Important Dates anniversary of the birth of St. John Vianny, the Cure (pastor) dArs.
