Company Audition Information Summer 2012 Saturday, August 11, 2012

Summer auditions will be held on Saturday, August 11 for interested dancers in PreCompany and/or Company. Dancers between the ages of 3 and 5 do not need to audition to be placed in the company. To reserve your childs spot at auditions, please submit a registration form and pay the required audition fee of $25. Please read the information below thoroughly. If you have any questions, please contact the staff at abovethebarre@gmail.com. Audition Information Dancers will audition by age. Complete the audition form and turn in by Friday, August 10 with the $25 audition fee Consider the total number of group routines you would like to perform. You are required to participate in the production and junior/senior group. Auditions will take place at Above the Barre Dance Academy. Studio will open at 8:30 am on Saturday, August 11. Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled audition. Check in at the front desk and receive audition number. Studio 2 will be available for warm up. Students will audition in the styles of ballet, lyrical and jazz. Females must wear a leotard and pink tights for the ballet/lyrical combination. You may bring black dance shorts for the jazz combination. Hair must be tightly secured away from the face. Bring all necessary shoes. Auditions are equivalent to a performance. Results will be emailed and the results will include pre-company or company and solo(s), duo(s), trio(s) and groups and specic placement in the junior and/or senior group routines by the evening of Monday, August 13th. All Company dancers will be placed in the company production AND junior/senior group based on age. Junior group is only for company members who are 11 and under as of 1/1/2013. Senior group is only for professional company members only who are 10 and up as of 1/1/2013. Placement in Junior and/or Senior group is based the decision of company instructors. After the TWO required groups, I want to be considered for #_________ more group routines. To be eligible for ONE solo you are required to participate in the production and junior/senior group. To be eligible for a SECOND solo and/or duo, trio, then, you are required to be placed in another group.

This interest will be taken into consideration along with audition scores to nalize placement in the 2012-2013 dance company.
