With the launch of Riviera in May 2012, oceania cruises takes culinary enrichment to a completely new level with culinary Discovery tours that combine hands-on classroom learning with unique shore-side tours. Guests go ashore with our chefs, where they explore local food markets and then learn how to use those ingredients in a cooking class back at the Bon apptit culinary center. Guests on Regatta and Nautica will have a similar experience and in select ports, we will offer culinary Discovery tours that combine the market excursions with cooking classes at the shore-side facilities.

on a typical tour we leave the ship around 9 a.m. and head out to a market to check out the local fish, produce, cheese and breads. every tour is different, but there is always a lot of tasting involved, whether its local cheese or chocolate, fruits or vegetables or speciality bread or desserts. We usually share a meal, which is a great way to spend time with the foodies on the ship. For our chef, its a chance to answer questions about the culinary culture of oceania cruises and meet guests and hear their stories about places theyve travelled, eaten and explored. after returning to the ship between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. and taking a little rest, we gather in the culinary centre to cook and taste things we picked up that day on our travels.

Cancellation Policy: In order to ensure quality guides and sufficient transportation, we must provide the tour operator with passenger counts at least 36 hours in advance. Therefore no refunds will be given within 36 hours of tour departure for cancellations or no-shows. To avoid a 100% cancellation penalty, any Your World and Unlimited Passport Collections must be cancelled prior to embarkation.
