for the Unborn is to make abortion impossible in Louisville, KY through godly and legal means.

The two main means we will be discussing are Sidewalk Counseling and Prayer. We pray that God will display His power by shutting down the abortion clinic through weak people such as us.

Speak for the Unborn Distinctives

Our Motivation: I. A Commitment first to the Gospel.
Our first allegiance is not to the Pro-Life Movement, but instead to the Gospel of our Lord. This message in its most basic form is that the Lord is holy and because man is sinful, he is under the wrath of God. Jesus Christ died in the place of sinners and whoever believes in him and repents of their sin is then reconciled to the Father and promised eternal life. It is by grace alone that one is saved. Because we are first committed to this message we seek to share it with all who do not believe, whether they be pro-life or pro-choice (Lev. 19:6, Rom. 3:23; 6:23, 2 Cor 5:21, Mark 1:15, John 3:16, Eph. 2:8-9).

II. The overflow of our love for Christ is a hatred for, and a commitment to expose, that which is evil.

The Psalmist exhorts us, O you who love the Lord, hate evil! (Psalm 97:10). We acknowledge that the murder of unborn children and the lies used to entice women to abort are rooted in the very character of Satan himself (John 8:44). Because God is our Father we hate the Devils works and through this ministry are obeying Pauls exhortation to take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them (Ephesians 5:11).

III. We are motivated by love for our neighbor.

We are committed to speak for our unborn neighbors who cannot speak for themselves. Proverbs 31:8-9 says, Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. Further, we are convinced that they way in which we can most love those pursuing abortions is to persuade them not to go through with it. To those who do have abortions, we will promote Gospel-centered counseling because we believe in the healing power of the Gospel and the sufficiency of the cross.

Our Method: IV. We are committed to holding up Gods Word next to the work of the Law that is written on the hearts of those pursuing abortion.

We believe that the consciences of men and women know that abortion is wrong and that as they walk into the abortion clinic, they are choosing to suppress the truth. We are committed to using the Bible to appeal to this conscience. Specifically, we teach Gods command to not murder, that man is made in the image of God, and therefore that human life is precious and to be protected (Rom 2:14-15, Exodus 20:13, Gen 9:6).

V. We are committed to making the right choice easier for women by promoting the services offered by Gospel-centered pregnancy resource centers and Gospel-centered churches. VI. We are committed to blessing those who curse us.

We will gladly bear reproach first for the Gospel and second to save the lives of the unborn. We will not break the laws of our nation in any way and will turn the other cheek to those who strike us. We will pray for the salvation of those who hate us and consistently speak the truth in a manner that is loving, kind, and patient. We will not forget that we too were once opposed to God (Matt 5:44-47, Luke 6:27-36, 1 Peter 2:12).

VII. We are committed to prayer.

Jesus said, Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full (John 16:24). We will exercise belief in the sincerity of Christs offer and be like the persistent widow, asking God relentlessly for effectiveness in this ministry. We will continue to ask until he gives us what we are asking for. Specifically, we will ask that 1) many babies lives would be spared, 2) the abortion clinic would shut down, and 3) many people would repent and believe in the Gospel.

Truths to Motivate and Lies to Avoid

The world, the flesh, and the Devil do not want you to be a part of this ministry and as you seek to participate in it, you will be met with much resistance. Therefore, we must fight the world, flesh, and the Devil with the sword of the Scripture. The following are but a few of the many verses we have put together to help you fight this battle well.

Truths to Motivate
Truth #1: The Lord gives a Spirit of Power, not a Spirit of Fear.
One might think, This ministry is not only outside of my comfort zone, but is several miles away from my comfort zone. But 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. So, as we drive to the abortion clinic and our stomach is in knots or we consider being a part of this ministry and feel great fear, let us remember that fear is not from the Lord. Instead the Holy Spirit, who is not afraid of anything, indwells you. He is a Spirit of power that empowers us to do anything. Let us repent of fear.

Truth #2: The Lord Gives Abundant Grace for Good Works.

2 Corinthians 9:8 says, And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. When you think ahead to this ministry, assume Gods grace will show up. When you think on the future, assume that the Lord will give you the strength. Let us dream big because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13).

Truth #3: The Lord is with You.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death [the up close reality of the death of several babies through abortion], I will fear no evil [Why?} For you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows (Psalm 23:4-5). The Lord will be with you the abortion clinic, comforting you, shepherding you, guiding you. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night [Surely the darkness of mass murder will mask the presence of GodSurely hearing the darkness of the Lords name blasphemed will cover me, and so on] even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you (Psalm 139:11-12). You can and you will have incredible fellowship and closeness to the Lord even standing on the sidewalks in front of the abortion clinic. His light in you shines most brightly in the darkness.

Lies to Avoid

The following lies come both from the mouths of the escorts, our own minds, and the Devil himself:

Lie # 1: You have no Right to be on the Streets telling People Abortion is Wrong.
No, Jesus has given us the authority to be on the streets. Matthew 28:18-19 says, And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nation. If then Jesus commands us to go into all the world, regardless of if the government is opened or closed to Christianity, then certainly he has given us the authority to be on Market Street. Many will say that our opinions are not welcome because abortion is legal, but our devotion is to a law higher then the laws of the US. Psalm 24:1 says, The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein. Our God owns the sidewalks. Our God owns the escorts. Our God is keeping the heart of the abortion doctor beating. And our God has told us to defend the oppressed. You do have the authority of God to be out there on the streets telling people abortion is wrong.

Lie # 2: Confrontation is Unloving

Our culture does not believe this. It is only when you confront someone for their sin that they say confrontation is unloving. What about the slogan, Friends dont let friends drink and drive? Our culture knows that a true friend takes the car keys away to prevent their drunk friend from killing themselves or someone else. Our culture knows it is loving to flush ones friends drugs down the toilet. Further, the overall message of the Bible is that man is very very sinful, that this whole world is under a curse and awaiting destruction through fire. It is within this framework that verses like He who hates reproof is stupid (Proverbs 12:1) makes sense. If I am fundamentally messed up at my core and someone is helping me not be messed up, then to reject their reproof would be stupid. Psalm 141:5 says, Let a righteous man strike me--it is a kindness; let him rebuke me--it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. When we, in righteousness, rebuke those going in for abortions, the Bible says it is a kindness. Lets believe these truths. 1 Corinthians 13:6 says, [Love] does not rejoice at wrongdoing [of abortion], but rejoices with the truth. In the Bible truth and love are always linked together. Therefore, let us love the women enough to tell them abortion is a sin against a holy Judge.

Lie #3: The Accusations of the Escorts are True.

Several times I have gone home thinking, You know the escorts are right I am a pathetic looser who pains the world by my existence. Not only should I never come out on the sidewalks again, but I should just never speak again. So the question is how in the world did I get to the place where I was thinking these absurd thoughts? Answer: I listened to the escorts. Do not listen to the counsel of the escorts: Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, 7

and on his law he meditates day and night (Psalm 1:1-2.) The escorts are out to destroy you when you go home, do not meditate on what they say, but instead let your meditation be on the law of the Lord.
o o o Their advice is deceitful: The thoughts of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. (Proverbs 12:5) Even when they are at the height of their compassion, even then they are cruel: The mercy of the wicked is cruel (Proverbs 12:10b). Their goal is to destroy you: With his mouth the godless man [the escorts] would destroy his neighbor. (Proverbs 1:9)

Finally, even IF their accusations are true, remember Christ died for all the stupid things you say. Christ died for the times you shouldve said something and didnt. Christ died for all the ways you misrepresent him, and so on. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us (Romans 8:31-34).

Lie # 4: I have to be Eloquent to be Effective.

Remember that if the Lord can speak through a donkey (Numbers 22), he can speak through you. When the Lord called both Moses and Jeremiah, both of them claimed that they were not eloquent and still God chose to use them (Jeremiah 1:6; Ex 4:10-13). It is the Word in the mouth of messenger that is powerful rather than the messenger. The Lord has a history of using those who are not eloquent to do great things, and his method has not seemed to change.

Lie # 5: God must either be Weak or Evil to allow Abortion to Occur.

At the end of the day, when we scratch our heads and wonder why in the world the Lord continues to give abortion doctors breath and continues to endure the blasphemy of the escorts, let us remind one another that It is the glory of God to conceal things (Proverbs 25:2). He has very good reasons for purposing abortion but he has just not revealed what these reasons are. But lets praise him for concealing that from us and not accuse him of wrong. The Bible cover to cover affirms Gods concern for the oppressed and cover to cover affirms his power. Lets trust in his character when we cannot understand his actions.

Lie # 6: If we arent Seeing Fruit then we must be Doing Something Wrong.

While it is good to reevaluate our methodology, in this case, our methodology (prayer and speaking the truth in love) is not the problem. Instead, the problem is hardness of the hearts of those with whom we are speaking. Lets remember the prophets: Isaiah was called to make the heart of his hearers dull with his message (Isaiah 6:9-10). Jeremiah is remembered as the weeping prophet. Their commission was to speak the truth. Period. And the Lord does what he wants with his truth. Sometimes he uses it to harden people and sometimes he uses it to soften. This is his call. It is not up to us.

In our case, if we are going out on the streets and are speaking the Bible to people in a loving manner, then we are not doing anything wrong. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:8-11).

Lie #7: I can have no Part in this Ministry because I am a Man.

Truth comes from outside of ourselves and is not contingent upon who is speaking it. Paul, even when people were preaching the Gospel with wrong motives, still rejoiced that they were preaching the Gospel (Phil 1:15-18). Paul understood that the message of God is true no matter whose mouth it comes out of. Jesus Christ is truth (John 14:6). And, ironically, Jesus is a man. If then, objective truth is somehow misconstrued when it comes from the mouth of a man, then God wouldve chose to become a woman and not a man. Both men and women, when speaking the Word, come with Gods full authority and blessing. The truth is not more true from the mouth of a woman and less true if it is from the mouth of a man it is the same truth. Men, do not let feminism keep you quiet. You know the truth; you know abortion is taking the life of a child. Defend these children no matter how many angry women tell you that your opinion doesnt count because you are a man. Your opinion counts because it is Gods opinion. Never stop speaking it.

Sidewalk Counseling Ministry

Sidewalk counseling is when people kindly greet a mother coming in for an abortion at her car and seek to persuade her not to go through with the procedure. They walk her all the way to the door of the abortion clinic informing her of the alternatives available to her and emphasizing that that her baby is a live human being made in the image of God and precious.

Methodology

The book of Proverbs lays out several principles for effective and beneficial communication. Based on the following verses, we are encouraged to have sweet, honest, wise, truthful, life-giving speech. o Sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness Proverbs 16:21b o The truthful witness saves lives, but one who breathes out lies is deceitful. Proverbs 14:25 o Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks. Proverbs 1:20-21 o The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. Proverbs 10:11 o Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit. - Proverbs 12:17 o The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death. Proverbs 13:15 o A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1 o Whoever gives an honest answer kisses the lips. Proverbs 24:26 Further, we can start with the presupposition that people know murder is wrong because the Bible tells us that the work of the Law is written on the hearts of men.

For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them. - Romans 2:14-15 Therefore, the responsibility of the sidewalk counselor is to place truth right beside the conscience of those pursuing abortions so that they might fear God and not go through with the procedure. What is the truth about abortions?

Message
1. Abortion is taking the life of a baby.
A few Scriptural Considerations: Did Jeremiah think it possible to be killed in the womb? (Jeremiah 20:14-18) And can one kill something that is not alive? How did David seem to consider himself in the pre-born state? Did he seem to look upon himself as any less human? (Psalm 139) 10

Is there any distinction between pre-born and born babies in the following passages? (Luke 2:12, 16; Acts 7:19, Luke 1:41, 44) Because one cannot see the pre-born baby, it can be very easy for an uninformed woman to believe that her baby is less than human. However, when one describes to a mother the facts about fetal development, it is very difficult to consider a baby to be anything but human.

Some Facts about Fetal Development1

Week 4: The babys brain, spinal cord, heart and other organs are beginning to form. Week 5: The babys heart begins to beat. Week 6: Basic facial features are beginning to appear. The digestive and respiratory systems are beginning to form. Babys ribs and muscles are developing. Week 8: By this point the babys eyelids are beginning to form. The babys fingers and toes are forming Week 9: This would be the week that the baby may begin to move (although he/she is too small for the mom to feel it) The internal reproductive organs are starting to develop Week 10: The bones of the babys skeleton are beginning to form. This week, the babys brain will produce almost 250,000 new neurons every minute. Week 12: The babys fingernails and toenails appear Week 13: The baby flexes and kicks The baby is able to suck his or her thumb Week 16: The baby can get the hiccups Facial expressions are now possible, such as frowning or squinting The baby can make a fist. Week 18: The baby can hear and even be startled by loud noises. Week 23: Fingerprints and footprints are forming.2

Abortion Procedures
Information about fetal development is based on the research of mayo clinic and can be found www.mayoclinic.com/health/prenatal-care/PR00112 2 The local abortion clinic performs abortions up to 22 weeks of pregnancy.

The local abortion clinic (EMW) refers to the killing of the baby as surgery on their website3 and many other pro-choice resources refer to the dismembering of a baby instead as the removal of pregnancy tissue. Surely, many women are pursuing abortions simply because they do not know the truth about abortion procedures. The abortion procedures performed at EMW are as follows:

Suction Curettage (up to 12 weeks of pregnancy)

This is the suction of the baby from the uterus piece by piece. After the suction, the doctor will then scrape the wall of the uterus to ensure that all portions of the baby are completely removed. This is the most common type of abortion.

Dilation and Evacuation (12-23 weeks of pregnancy) Application to Sidewalk Counseling:

The cervix is dilated and then forceps are used to pull the baby out of the uterus one piece at a time. The baby is then reassembled to ensure all pieces have been removed.

Tell the mother and the person with her the truth. How many women have had abortions because they were deceived, not knowing the gravity of what they were doing. Recite to her facts about fetal development and even about abortion procedures. She has a right to know. Some examples: o Did you know that your baby has a beating heart right now, even faster than our hearts? o Did you know that as we speak God is crafting together your baby? By now your baby may even have fingernails and toenails. He is making a beautiful creation, dont let the abortion doctor destroy it. o At conception it was determined what gender your baby would be. You are carrying right now a little son or daughter who will grow up to call you mom and who will look like you and love you. o The Bible calls what you are about to abort a baby, no less human than an infant outside the womb. Can I please show you what the Bible says about your child before you go in there?

2. Abortion is murder and is therefore forbidden by God.

Many women in Louisville do believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and have a general respect for it. Here are some ideas of what you could say to a mother based on Scripture: o One of the Ten Commandments says not to murder. Do you think abortion is not murder? o Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commands. Please love Jesus and obey his command not to kill (John 14:15). o Please fear God. Think about God. The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, have you considered God at all in your decision to have this abortion? What do you think he thinks about it? (Proverbs 1:7) o You might be thinking that God will understand the difficulty of your situation and be OK with your abortion. But where in the Bible do you find support for that? God is holy and he commands you to not have this abortion. o God is giving you the chance right now to turn from your decision to have this abortion. Please fear God and turn away from this evil (Proverbs 16:6). o Gods eyes are in every place, watching over the evil and the good. Gods eyes will watch this abortion (Proverbs 15:3).

o Are you having this abortion because someone may find out? My friend, the Bible says that you cant have two masters; either you fear God or people. Please choose to fear God.

3. It is also true that Gods people will help her through her pregnancy

There have been many women pressured into having an abortion. There have been many young girls who thought they had to have the abortion because her parents told her she had to. Her parents may have told her she would be kicked out of the house or they might say that because she cant afford to take care of her baby, that she shouldnt have her baby. Some mothers want to finish school. There are many, many reasons. A Womans Choice Resource Center specializes in removing reasons to abort. They can help mothers find scholarships especially designed for single moms, there are Christian maternity homes available free of charge, there are Christian families ready and willing to adopt. Remind the women going in for abortions of the assistance available to her. o What is the main reason that led you to have an abortion? (No answer) I know I just met you and I dont know what is going on in your life, but whatever the reason, we can help you. Is it finances? Relational issues with the babys father? Feeling overwhelmed? Give us the chance to help you before you take your babys life. o Are you being pressured to have this abortion? The Law protects you; you legally do not have to go through with this even though you are under age. There is a Christian maternity home you can stay in with other young mothers free of charge.

Speaking to Men

As we know, the Bible calls us to speak up for the rights of the mute (Proverbs 31:8,9), therefore appealing to the boyfriends responsibility to protect can be very helpful. You can say things like: o The Bible calls us to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, please be courageous and speak up for this child. o This is just as much your baby as it is her baby, will you do your best to defend the life of your child? o The Bible tells us that we will be judged for our every action what we say and what we dont say. God calls you right now to stand up to her and plead with her not to have the abortion. o Supporting her does not mean allowing her to sin when you can help prevent it. If you saw someone killing a 3 month old infant on the streets right now, what would you do? I would hope that you would at least try to stop them from doing it. o Many women resent their boyfriends later when they regret their abortion. She might very well come to you later and say why didnt you try to stop me? Will you try to stop her right now?

Practical Considerations

o Do not interrupt another counselor. Instead walk beside him or her and pray for them as they speak. When they run out of things to say, be ready to speak up. o Look the mother in the eye if possible, introduce yourself, and be warm towards her.

Sidewalk Counseling and the Attributes of God

Ultimately, the reason that people have abortions is because they do not fear God. If they feared God, then they would hate evil because The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil (Proverbs 8:13) and would turn away from it for by the fear of the LORD one turns away from evil (Proverbs 16:6). Therefore, our job is to teach others who God is so that they might fear him and gain wisdom and insight and thereby turn from the evil of abortion. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. (Proverbs 9:10)

Who is God and what does he have to do with your Pregnancy?

God is Sovereign:
This section is designed for when you have more time to talk to a woman (ie by her car window or through the window of the abortion clinic).

Which means God purposes everything that happens in your life. This means that this pregnancy was planned by the Lord even if it wasnt planned by you. This life that is in your womb was put there by God and belongs to God.

Ezekiel 18:4 All souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine
And even before people are born, God has written down in a book all the days of their lives. This isnt pregnancy tissue to the Lord, this is a precious human being.

Psalm 139:16 In your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
You might be here because youve been told your baby has some type of deformity. But God is sovereign even over birth defects:

Exodus 4:11 The Lord said to Moses, Who has made a mans mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
If your baby has some type of health issue, that was purposed by God and we do not get to decide who lives and dies based on how healthy they are. The Lord has plans for people with deformities that are beautiful and wonderful. (My sister in Law whose name is Heather Joy has Downs syndrome and she is

one of the sweetest, happiest, most joyful people I have ever met. I am privileged to know her I believe her tenderness reflects God in a special way.4) Transition: You may be thinking, Well if God is sovereign over all things then he is sovereign over this abortion. Yes, he is sovereign even over things like abortion, but this brings me to my next point: God is a Judge and will punish you on the Day of Judgment for having this abortion.

God is a Judge:
God is a perfectly fair judge. Psalm 7:11 says God

is a righteous judge, and a God

who feels indignation every day.

When God looks down and sees rape he is not

indifferent. When he looks down from heaven and sees children being molested, he is furious. And when God looks down and sees babies being dismembered through abortion he is filled with anger. Our legal system has failed by legalizing abortion, but there is a law above the laws of our land. And this Law belongs to the living God who has said you shall not commit murder. If you disobey his laws, you will not escape him but you will be punished. He will execute the perfect punishment for every crime.

- Luke 12:2-3 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
You have come to an abortion clinic while it is still dark and I am sure that many people in your life do not even know about this pregnancy, but they will know. God will expose what you are doing in his time. Maybe this baby is a result of an affair and you think that if you destroy the evidence no one will find out you were sleeping with someone elses husband. My friend, even if you destroy the evidence, God saw you having the affair and it will be made public in his time. Dont sin to cover a sin. Youll be punished for both the affair and the abortion. You dont want that. Come clean now and walk out of there.

- No creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13
God is watching every one of you in that abortion clinic right now and he is calling you through me to walk right out of there. He is giving you the opportunity to obey him and escape his judgment. The section about Heather obviously will not apply to everyone. But if you do know someone who has some type of deformity, feel free to share about your relationship with them. 15

Some of you covered your faces as you were walking in today, but God saw your face. He knows you are in the abortion clinic about to take the life of your child. Come out now before it is too late. -

Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived, you cant mock God he promises
to pay you back for all the wrong that you have done. You by sitting there in that abortion clinic are mocking God you are saying that his Word is a lie you are saying that he wont judge you for thisbut you are wrong he will not be mocked. In his time he will judge all sin and you will reap what you sow.

Vengeance is mine, I will repayIt is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31. Friends, you dont want to mess with God. He has all
power. There is a story in the Bible where men were challenging the authority of Moses and so God opened up the ground and it swallowed them up (Num 16). Also, in the book of Acts a married couple told a white lie and God immediately struck both of them dead (Acts 5). God isnt Santa Claus. He isnt your grandpa. He isnt a push over. No, he is a consuming fire who has all power over this universe and it is a fearful thing to fall into his hands. He will avenge this innocent life you are about to take.

God is All-Knowing: - Psalm 139:4 Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. Even as you open your mouth to possibly mock the words that I am
saying, the Lord knows what you are about to say. He knows everything, there is nothing beyond his knowledge. This is an extreme comfort to us when we are mistreated. Maybe you are in the abortion clinic right now because you have been a victim of rape. Maybe you are pregnant right now due to incest. Maybe you are in there right now and your boyfriend beat you when you told him you were pregnant. Maybe youre afraid, you cant tell anyone how youve been mistreated. Take comfort, God sees all things. When there is no one else who will right the wrongs that have been done to you, God will avenge you in his time. Please, until you are avenged, do not sin against this baby because you were sinned against. This baby is possibly one of the only beautiful things in your situation. 16

But the reality of God seeing all things is a threat to us when we are sinning against him. If youre a church goer, you might be able to go to the club on Saturday night and then go sing hymns in church on Sunday morning without anyone knowing. But God knows, he sees your hypocrisy. And when you are here on Saturday morning getting an abortion, God sees this. You will not be permitted to mock him for long.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. Proverbs 15:3 Remember this as you are filling out the paperwork in the
abortion clinic: Gods eyes are on you. Remember as you pay for this abortion, Gods eyes are watching. When you mistreat us as we are trying to save your babys life, God sees it. God is in that abortion clinic as you lay down on the table to have the procedure done.

God is Holy:

A lot of people think God is cool with their sin. People think God is passive, just kickin back on a couch unfazed as we sleep around and kill our children. No, that is a lie from the Devil to get us to keep sinning. God is a holy God who detests sin.

For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers. You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. Psalm 5:4-6 Habakkuk 1:13a You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong.
When Jesus Christ was on this earth, he showed us the perfect picture of holiness. He never sinned.

o He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did

not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 1 Peter 1:22-23
And he commanded that we must be perfect as he is perfect (Matt 5:48). He doesnt hate abortion any less because everyone is doing it. He instead calls you to be as holy as he is (1 Peter 1:16). Dont measure yourself up to your friends. Measure yourself next to God. In sum, God is holy and demands that we as his creatures be holy too.

God is a Rewarder of those who Seek Him. - And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 Do you believe this promise? God will reward you if you seek
him. Right now, by sitting in that abortion clinic you are running away from him. Will you seek him will you have faith? Will you trust that he knows best? If you are sitting in that abortion clinic right now, you are showing that you not believe that God rewards those who seek him. -

Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Holding on to your wickedness and seeking the Lord are
God is not out to kill your joy he is out to offer you true joy. incompatible. You cannot say you are seeking the Lord while you are sitting in that abortion clinic. Forsake your abortion; forsake your wickedness; forsake your sexual immorality turn to the Lord and he will have compassion on you.

Life is found in Jesus Christ. He said I

am the way the truth and the life. No man can come to the father but through me John 14:6. Are you looking for truth
Jesus is the truth. Are you looking for life? Jesus is the life. Are you looking for forgiveness Jesus can forgive you. He died on the cross to pay for the sins of those who would believe on him. Will you believe in him right now? Will you evidence your faith by walking out of that abortion clinic? Come, follow Jesus.

Those who come to Jesus get their sins forgiven, they get to live in heaven forever, they get to escape judgment, they experience a life filled with obedience to Jesus, they receive the warm 18

fellowship of the Church, they escape hell, they no longer have guilt, and they rejoice even when persecuted. But know that when you come to Jesus you must deny yourself. -

Luke 9:23-26 And he said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. If you are ashamed of Jesus
right now, ashamed of his words that I am speaking to you, he will be ashamed of you when he comes again. Deny yourself right now and follow Jesus, he will reward you in his time.

Objections I can just ask for Forgiveness Later

Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

It is None of your Business.

God commands me to defend the innocent and I obey him not you. If I keep my mouth shut as babies die, I will have to answer to God. Proverbs 31:8-9 Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all you are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Its not a Baby

What else would you call a creature with human DNA that has a beating heart and brain waves? If it is not a baby then what is it? A frog? Yes, it is made up of tissue, but so are you and I. It is made up of human tissue, not whale tissue or bird tissue. The Bible talks about God personally creating every human life: Psalm 139:13-16 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the 19

earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Youre Harassing Me

Im not here to be obnoxious Im just trying to save your babys life and save you from a lot of pain. True love for someone doesnt stand by while they hurt others and themselves.

I dont Believe in God

The Bible says that The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge (Psalm 19:1-2). It is so obvious that there is a God that the Bible says that only fools deny his existence (Psalm 14:1). If you cant see God it is because you are suppressing obvious truth by your unrighteous life. Repent of your unrighteousness and then you will see him. Romans 1:18-23 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

I am a Christian

Prove it. Prove it by obeying Gods command not to murder. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments (John 14:15) so prove your love for him by obeying him right now. I can tell you that I am an orange cat, but that doesnt make me one. The Bible says that the fruit of your life, how you live, proves whether you are a Christian or not. And the Bible says that Christians dont murder. Prove that you are a Christian and listen to the Words of the Bible and dont walk into that abortion clinic. If you walk in there you are telling the world that you dont care about God and his Word and are denying Jesus Christ. They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. Titus 1:16 Faith by itself, if it does not have works is dead. James 2:17 Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

Prayer Ministry
Why Pray?
We are powerless and weak, God is mighty and strong. Whereas we are helpless to change anyones heart, God is able to change a heart. And God has committed himself to work through the means of prayer. He is so committed to working through this means that he gave us the following promises in his Word: And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. - 1 John 5:14-15 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. - Mark 11:24 The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. - James 5:16 Do we believe these promises enough to pray?

When to Pray

We can pray from inside our closet for the following requests or together at our church. However, being on the sidewalks watching women go in for abortions does aid in ones prayers becoming more fervent and also adds a sense of urgency to them. Further, you would be there to speak to a mother or an abortion clinic employee if the opportunity presented itself. Thus the best course of action may be to have a prayer team assembled on the sidewalk from 7:00am-8:30am on your churchs designated day. The following list is a guide to fuel fervent prayer:

Pray for your brothers and sisters doing sidewalk counseling:

1. That they would not fear men, but instead would keep their minds focused on the Lord and be given perfect peace. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. - Isaiah 26:3 2. That they would keep their conduct before the escorts honorable. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.- 1 Peter 2:12 3. That the Lord would speak through them. That they would have the opportunity to talk directly to those walking in to get abortions and that they would be able to speak truthfully, lovingly, and quickly. Pray that they would be filled and led by the Holy Spirit. 4. Pray that when they are cursed, that they would bless. Bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. - Luke 6:28 21

Pray for those going in to get abortions:

1. Pray that they would hear and listen as, Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks. Proverbs 1:20-21 2. Pray that they would fear the Lord and turn away from the evil of abortion. By the fear of the Lord one turns away from evil. Proverbs 16:6 3. That the Lord would clearly reveal to them that the Christians are speaking truthfully while the escorts are promoting violence and seeking to deceive. The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. Proverbs 10:11. Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit. - Proverbs 12:17 4. Pray for the fathers / loved ones who are bringing the mothers in to get abortions. Pray that they would hear the truth of the Christians and that they too would speak up for this unborn baby. Pray that they would not go along with whatever she decides but instead would defend their child.

Pray for the escorts / abortion clinic staff:

1. That they would hear the words of the Believers and repent of encouraging and/or committing murder. I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the iniquity of my sin (Psalm 32:5). 2. That the sidewalk counselors would have opportunity to speak to the abortion clinic staff and that the staff would listen and not justify their sin, but instead confess and forsake it. Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy (Proverbs 28:13). 3. That they would see the good deeds of the Christians and glorify God. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation (1 Peter 2:12). 4. Abortion clinic staff: That the Lord would bring Christians into their lives who would confront them for their sin. Pray the abortion doctor, Dr. Marshall would repent. If they attend church, that their pastors would be faithful to preach the Word and practice church discipline. 5. That they would come under incredible conviction, would manifest godly sorrow over their sin, and come to repentance. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will (2 Timothy 2:25-26).

Etc.

1. Pray that there would be police officers on the streets and that they would enforce justice. 2. Pray that the abortion clinic would shut down, for the glory of God. 22

Clinic Escorts
The clinic escorts are the people who wear orange vests and escort the women from their car to the abortion clinic. Their message is that they are defending women from protestors so that their right to abort their child might be as pain free as possible. These people hate our God, our message, and they hate us. They will be your greatest challenge in this ministry. They will scoff at your message and your God, they will insult you personally, they will try to create disunity among us, they will lie to defame your character, they will engage in physical contact if necessary to protect the women from your words. The Bible is truly a sword, such a powerful one that these escorts will do anything to prevent the women from hearing its sharp truth. We are not surprised at the resistance. We, as Gods children, are following after the ways of our Father and they, as children of the Devil, are doing what their father desires: Killing and Lying. Jesus said: You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. - John 8:44 What then should our response be toward the escorts? Love and rejoicing. We are called to love them and to rejoice when reviled for doing good. Please read over the following passages:

Loving our Enemies:

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. - Matthew 5:4348 (See also Luke 6:27-36) Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. - Romans 12:17 - 13:1

Rejoicing in our Suffering:

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecute. - 2 Timothy 3:12

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. - 1 Peter 4:14-16 In light of these passages

Do:

o Seek to genuinely love the escorts. Look for opportunities to serve them. o Pray for them before and after you go out on the streets. o Turn the other cheek when you are hit. Keep your hands in your pockets if possible to avoid any appearance of retaliation. o Expect to be hated when doing good and rejoice when you are. o Meditate on Gods love for his enemies. o Speak to truth in love to the escorts. Be very careful that you do not sin in your anger when speaking to them. o Call them to repent of their sin and trust in Christ. o Keep watch on your brothers and sisters. We are to hold one another accountable for our conduct on the streets. Quickly confront a brother or sister if they are sinning against the escorts. o Be wary of their counsel. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night (Psalm 1:1-2). The thoughts of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are deceitful (Proverbs 12:5). Some of them will try to appear neutral especially to the new people.

Do not:

o Retaliate. Leave justice to the police officers and ultimate justice to God. o Let them distract you from sidewalk counseling. When you are talking to a mother, and they mock everything you say, ignore them until the mother is gone. If they have prevented you from speaking truth to the girls, they have succeeded. o Talk about them to other Christians while on the sidewalks. o Meditate on their unkind words; this thinking is unprofitable. Philippians 4:8 tells us, Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Our minds are to rest on things that are excellent and true. o Expect them to be reasonable or to understand justice. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it completely (Proverbs 28:5). o Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21) 24

Post Abortion Ministry

There are many women who are in the Kingdom of God today because the Gospel was the only thing that could heal the guilt and shame they experienced due to their abortions. Because the Lord designed women to nurture and care for their children, even those women who hate God often have a sense of their own sinfulness after having an abortion. Therefore, the church should take full advantage of this opportunity to help women who are hurting and offer them the healing power of the Gospel. There usually are other issues a woman may need to work through after having an abortion. Such as: seeking to forgive those who may have pressured her into the procedure, being able to deal with feelings of intense anger, and grieving the loss of her child. Thankfully, there are wonderful biblically based resources available to your church that could aid you in starting a Post Abortion Ministry. One such resource that we would recommend is called Forgiven and Set Free by Linda Cochrane. Please consider starting this ministry both for your members who may have had an abortion themselves and as a way to evangelize those who are outside of your church. If you would like to know more about post-abortion counseling, a woman named Theresa, who is the head of the Post Abortion ministry at A Womans Choice, would be glad to assist you. She can be reached at 502.589.9400. Further, if you yourself or someone you love is grieving because of an abortion, please go through this Bible study, either at your church or at A Womans Choice. It is excellent. How this could play into the Speak for the Unborn ministry as a whole is that people from your church could wait on the sidewalks for when women exit the abortion clinic and give them a brochure offering free post-abortion counseling. They could be there ready to share the Gospel, hug women, maybe cry with them, give them a gift of some sort along with the brochure. The women go in for their procedure at 7am and may leave as early as 11am. Possible Opener, I know it has been a hard/emotional day for you. On your churches designated day, the Speak for the Unborn ministry team could meet at your church between 6:00-6:30am and spend some time in prayer together. You would then go down to the abortion clinic located at 138 W Market St, 40202 and park on the street right in front of it (you will want to bring change for the meter, except on Saturday). The prayer team would find a place on the sidewalk to stand and pray, and the sidewalk counselors would await women coming in. At around 8:30-9:00 this ministry team would come together again and pray and then go home. Then at 11am the post abortion team could be on the sidewalks waiting for women to exit the clinic. Please be mindful that A Womans Choice Resource center is your ally and friend. They are located across the street from the abortion clinic by White Castle and are ready and are waiting to minister to any women you bring to them. They can do a free ultrasound on the mother so she can see her baby and many women who see their baby on the ultrasound will choose not to abort. They are also committed to sharing the Gospel and have a myriad of resources that can help women during and after her pregnancy. Try to get every mother to go into A Womans Choice.
