Dog Days of Summer

Hello students and parents. I hope summer is treating you well. In the picture above is Ralph, a muppet, and Victor Borge, a comedic pianist. This is a still from an episode of The Muppet Show in which they play Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in an unusual way. To see this clip go to http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=L5iCVytIbmk&feature=youtube_gdata_player. This video will also be posted on the studio Facebook page. These two pianists will tickle your funny bone! I hope these newsletters bring you joy, inspiration, laughter and information. As always feel free to email, text or give me a call with any questions, or plain old confusion with this newsletter or any other aspect of the studio! Enjoy!

A bit of this and that.

Do you ever wonder what the upright piano in the studio looks like on the inside? I took a few pictures in June while my piano technician worked on a couple of sticky keys. Notice in the picture on the left, the technician is taking the key out of the piano! If I remember correctly it was B or "back door."

Correction: In the rst issue on page one Mae Lue's name was incorrectly spelled.
Back Injury: Ouch! It is still uncertain how I injured my back. Possibly while working out with my dog. She's small but powerful. Thank you for putting up with cancellations, rescheduling, and the huge ofce chair. I may be sitting in it for some time.

What do you like about playing the piano: I hear, see, and feel music. Sometimes there are emotions, sometimes there are colors, and sometimes there are just sounds. My love for the piano began at a very early age. My great-grandmother, who granted me the pleasure of her company for many years, played the piano for me even before I started my lessons. I can remember her versions of "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer."
