Hopes have been raised before, only to be dashed. ARGENTINE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY SLOWS Argentine construction activity in Argentina during June dropped for the third consecutive month compared to a year ago. The drop was 1.5% according to official figures reported by MercoPress. The main construction companies involved in public works and in the private sector said that in the third quarter the decrease tendency in activity will persist. http://www.southem.com/2012/08/argentine-construction-activity-slow/ ANNUAL LATAM FOOD INFLATION RATE TO YEARS HIGHEST LEVEL The annual inflation rate in Latin America and the Caribbean food was 8.9% in June, its highest level so far this year, the said regional office of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation. Painel Florestal reports the company sought the most modern equipment in the world and acquired, in November last year, Logmeter 4000 solution, which will load measurement on the trucks stacked. Engineering News reported Princeton Professor Bernadette Atuahene compiled the report, "Paying for the Past: Addressing Past Property". Recently, the company included in 58 hours of study 25 trade union leaders of 11 companies that provide services to Bosques Arauco S.A. Its reported those involved soaked new techniques for effective negotiation, communication aimed at coordination in the enterprise, labour law and social security, as well as relevant materials on risk prevention. Arauco said in a statement that for its forestry and forest affiliates this initiative was part of its new way of doing things, seeking to promote a more harmonious relationship and dialogue between companies and their workers through a new model of labour relations. GREEN STAR FOR AUS BUILDING PRODUCTS ENCOURAGED The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has released a Discussion Paper Life Cycle Assessment in Green Star for stakeholder feedback by 15 August 2012. The GBCA is a national, not-for-profit organisation launched in 2002 committed to developing a sustainable property industry for Australia by encouraging the adoption of green building practices. The Australian Forest Products Association reported that it considered that integrating LCA principles into Green Star would offer many benefits to GBCA current approach. AFPA welcomes the investigation into a LCA approach and plans to supply feedback on the discussion paper along with other interested industry stakeholders.
