Dreams
I remember as a sixth grader in school drawing at my desk. The dreams I saw in my mind I felt certain would someday come true. On a sheet of notebook paper I would sketch pictures over the lines of blue. I would dream as all kids do , about what I would someday be. Maybe a veternarian, maybe a country music singer, maybe I would join the rodeo, yet there was one dream that was more vivid to me. A little farm in the country, a husband like "Luke Macoy" a few kids running everywhere, a horse, a few chickens, a couple of cows, pigs and a dog here and there. I would draw a hugh oak tree in the yard with a tire swing, a picket fence and a sidewalk lined with flowers ,made from dirt, pebbles and rocks. It would lead the way to an old cedar post surrounded by white daisies which held an old rusty, metal mailbox. Was this just a fairytale, or some image I had let take root in my mind? Either way I thought this would be a pretty easy life to find. I grew up, then I met the man I would soon marry and my dream would soon come true. We settled in a small little house and within a short time I had not only one child but two. My anmals were a little scatterd from place to place . We were'nt exactly in the country so therefore there was no space. Seemed as if in no time at all, the horse was sold, my dog died and my husband went away. As I realized my "dream" was becoming everything but reality day by day. I chased that dream many times as I tried to make it come true. Yet I just could'nt get it. There was something I needed to see or something diffren I needed to do. Then I got it! I foolishly left God out of my life. I listened to me. My thoughts, my dreams and my desires were all I could see. How true it is, we reap what we sow. (Galatians 6:7) But through Gods grace, love and assurance, he offers a seed he wants to plant within us and watch us grow. Dreams we all have, yet God is the truth, the way and the light.(John1:5) May I forever seek his will for my life as I pray for his guidence each morning ,each day and night. It has often been said if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. I still have to remind myself today, its ok to dream, however when it comes to my future, that I can't see, but God can. Remember till our paths cross again, Philippians 4:4-10
